Florists’ Transworld Delivery, known to everyone as FTD, was founded in 1910 by John Valentine and 12 other florists. This cooperative of florists agreed to deliver flowers to each other’s customers, thereby increasing sales. The company began by offering its services internationally in 1965.
The company was acquired by Perry Capital Corporation, which privatized the co-op in 1994. The Mercury Network, which is the electronic program used by the company, processes approximately 15 million orders each year in 154 countries, using more than 50,000 FTD affiliates.
FTD relocated its headquarters to Chicago, Illinois, in mid-2018. A new address has yet to be announced
Today, FTD is one of the largest flower delivery services in the world. The company had annual revenue of $1.22 billion in 2015 and had more than 1,000 full-time employees. The company went public on the NASDAQ in 2005 and can be found under the ticker symbol: FTD.
In March 2019, the company announced that it might have to file for bankruptcy if it cannot find a buyer or a way to revise the terms of the company debt of $217 million.

I was a frequent buyer at ProFlowers and of course did not see flowers sent to people away. Then, I saw some and they were horrible. I tried to have a correction, but failed. I had ordered so many times and I wonder what the people got…if they got what I saw, I would have been embarrassed. I just called, could hardly understand the person…bottom line, he said there was no way to transfer me and no other phone number to give me. I wish I had all the money back….dream on, Margaret.

This is the WORST overall experience I have ever had with a company. I would sue you for fraud if I had the mind to. This is a disgusting and appalling display of customer service. Flowers were supposed to be received on Valentine’s Day. Guess what, they weren’t. Supposed to be received the next day. Guess what, they weren’t. I’ve posted on facebook, sent E-mails, struggled through an entire lunch break and many other instances throughout the day (my boyfriend who ordered the flowers did this as well) TRYING to talk with your terrible customer service agents who can only repeat certain phrases, can barely understand what you are saying, and can’t understand them. Was refused a manager the first few times I asked for one, later in the day spoke to a “manager” who was just as inconsiderate and uncaring as the sales rep I talked to and I couldn’t understand him either. I’m disgusted. We are supposedly getting a refund but we want our flowers. What does a person have to do to get something that was supposed to make a day special, that we paid money for, that I DESERVE to have received. I will strive to find every outlet possible to complain about this company. Whatever I can do as my part to put this fraudulent company out of business, I will do. Whatever I can do to spread the word so that others’ don’t have special occassions ruined as well, I will do. Have it be known that if I find a way to bring legal action against this company, I will do it. It would be in FTD’s best interest to send me some flowers and I’m not talking wilted, bug eaten, dead, or covered in broken glass as I have read that that is how pretty much all of your deliveries that are actually delivered turn out to be. This is ridiculous. It can not be that hard to make a phone call to a florist and make things right. I honestly doubt that our order was ever put in in the first place. NO ONE has made any real effort or expressed any kind of true concern towards making this right. How can you live with yourselves? Better question, HOW ARE YOU STILL IN BUSINESS!!??? I would really love someone to make an attempt to make me feel less infurated toward your company!

My experience today is perhaps the worst I’ve ever experienced from an organization whose sole purpose is to provide a service during times of great emotion. After 22 years of marriage, my wife did not receive a special gift on Valentines Day. Have you any idea of how that makes me feel? I don’t believe you do, nor do the vendors you employ to satisfy contracts made between customer’s and your organization. Countless moments put on hold and then disconnected, false emails claiming delivery had taken place, combined with phone calls to the local florist and then receiving nothing only serve as a reminder why I have no intention of requesting another service from FTD. I expect a full refund of my monies and would greatly appreciate if future contact is eliminated.

I once again tried to speak to a supervisor (Charlie 2chrm15) who was zero help , put me on hold, then said she could not help me with trying to figure out what happened to my prior orders and how can we make sure it does not happen again!! Really I was thinking it was nice of me to help identify the problem! Obviously FTD is no longer a reputable company to do business with !

What a rip off! I tried posting a review twice and keep getting pop ups from Amazon that block me !!
I ordered flowers for 2 separate people in May neither received them and I was charged!!
BEWARE if you use this disreputable company call whoever you are sending to !!FTD will charge you and never deliver

I ordered flowers for my mom. I just returned from Afghanistan after serving18 months in the middle of deserted hill country. I thought , this is great , I can send my mom flowers for the first time in 2 years. I ordered from your company. After I paid for the order I was emailed back and told they can’t deliver them.until the 15th . I cancelled my order and was told the funds would go back into.my account. I get my pay from the army on the 15th and I had $110 in my account and I gave your company$79 of my hard earned money to please my mother . Now my bank tells me your company has a hold on my money until Monday ! I called back to customer service . I waited over an hour on hold only to be told, and I quote , sorry about your luck , that’s the way we do business here and I can’t release your funds and she said, she wouldn’t buy a bucket from your company ! Her own company !!!! I am filling a complaint to the BBB in Illinois and I am going on the military website and posting this atrocious act your company has done and will continue to do and I am positive that you will lose a substantial amount of revenue from sales to th US military, worldwide. I am spending the next WEEK of my time sending emails to every military base website to ensure I have done everything possible for your company to lose business from our military personnel! Pi** on you worthless son of a XXXXXXes I hope you all go broke and lose your cush , sit on your a**, do nothing for our military jobs !

With great anger I want everyone to know NEVER order from FTD. The customer service department is insensitive and ineffective into satisfying the patron after they failed to deliver the order. On top of that, the customer service representative refused to offer me the exact same arrangement or one identical without charging me more. NO! The representative wanted to undercut me with a product of lesser quality averaging out to the total of my original order. After refusing the rep gave me the same exact order for a two weeks later delivery date. When the order was for Valentines day. In conclusion, FTD would not substitute the original order with the exact same order at a higher cost to be delivered the next day. And this whole fiasco is the soul responsibility of FTD for not satisfying the customer. Only because as per FTD; should a product not be delivered the customer is not contacted to have the option of having the order returned to the delivery company and picked up by the customer….nooooo! The product or order is destroyed without even consenting with the patron. This is unprofessional behavior and highly unacceptable. I’ve ordered from various other florist, such as 1800flowers and have never went through this type of poor customer satisfaction. At least with 1800flowers should it make an error, it will replace the order at no extra cost, or added money. To be delivered the next day, without any hassle. That’s respectful customer care.

CUSTOMER SERVICE IS NILL… I am diabled and ordered a centerpiece to be delivered on the 22nd. Then found out people were leaving on the 19th. Emailed and was assured delivery would be today – 12/18/2017.
2:30 emailed to verify delivery…Got the oh it will be there by 8.
Responded that there is a lot of room for error on a changed delivery date…Got the same answer as above…
4:00 called in…AND WAS GIVEN THE SAME ANSWER…I ASKED IF THEY WOULD CALL THE FLORIST OR GIVE ME THEIR INFORMATION…”OH I WILL EMAIL THEM” and was promised a delivery email verification…
BUT GET THIS I WAS ASKED TO PROMISE I WOULD GIVE THE LADY A 10 on her service on an email to follow…I TOLD HER I WOULD DECIDE IF THEY WERE DELIVERED OR NOT I WOULD DECIDE ON WHAT I givE…AND AGAIN I WAS PRESSURED TO GIVE HER A 10…. JUST COULD NOT GET THEM TO CALL THE LOCAL FLORIST TO VERIFY THE ORDER was to be delivered in the next 4 hours….AND COULD NOT GET OFF THE PHONE FROM THIS Woman who DIRELY WANTED A 10!
WHY HAVE CUSTOMER SERVICE IF ALL YOU SAY IS DELIVERY HOURS IS till 8:00 pm and they are too lazy to call the local florist….

Order # C1007139838
On 25 OCT 2017 I ordered 3 dozen long stem premium multi color roses for my wife’s birthday to be delivered on 26 OCT. Here it is 2 days later OCT 27th and still no delivery. Your representative called the florist 6 times at my request on the due date of delivery and was told that her roses would be delivered BEFORE 5pm on 26 OCT and that the flowers went out for delivery around 3pm. Then another representative called the same florist and said the flowers left the shop around 3pm. Again, now its 7pm and no delivery and was told by the florist that they will be delivered by 9pm REALLY ! so after staying home ALL day she finally went to dinner around 7pm and your representative called the florist around 7:30 and now no one is answering the phone. So now here we are at 3:42 eastern time (while typing this letter) still no word of delivery and mind you I told them to find me another florist but here we go again from 9:00 til now NO DELIVERY.
Please give me a reason why I should order again and how could this happen. I normally go to the florist myself but I’ currently overseas serving with the military.
Very Disappointed,
Jan Davillier

I ordered flowers on Oct. 17 2017 to be sent to my nephew for their 25 Anniversary. I ordered the “Best” purple Prose bouquet and FT D sent them the”Good” arrangement and charge me $77.98. I’ve called three times to correct the order but got no response to rectify the order. Order # C1007133759. Please help me to get what I paid for.

I ordered flowers from the website, and was extremely disappointed. The flowers I ordered were in a beautiful container with autumn colors for my daughter’s birthday. I had the flowers delivered to her place of employment. She sent me a picture and they were nothing like what I ordered, they were in a cheap glass vase and the colors were summer. The flowers obviously were not the same. I filed a complaint and was told I had three options, have the flowers replaced; or have the flowers retrieved for a refund; or receive a refund of the service charge. Options 1 & 2 would have been an embarrassment to my daughter. FTD has false advertisement and do not honor their 100% satisfaction guarantee.

Has some flowers send to my mother-in-law and when she posted a picture on Facebook of the bouquet I was horrified. This was nowhere near what I had ordered. It should have been triple the flowers and was lacking other flowers that were supposed to be in the bouquet. When I called to complain they said they were going to replace it and it has yet to be done and this was Mother’s Day. For what I have paid I’ve been better if I had just gotten on a plane and delivered him myself and picked up a bouquet at Walmart.

With all the press coverage at airports with people being prevented entry, why do you not
Have 5-8-10 arrangements …large…With a note FTD …Welcome
You will gain so much positive publicity of the type you can not buy.
And, give away one flower to arrivals to get rid of over the hill stock.
Several large companies …Google etc might pay for soft issue oriented arrangements.
Just before Valentine’s Day…..
