Brothers Cameron and Tyler McNie grew up in the restaurant industry working at their parent’s Hawaiian-inspired restaurant. The brothers wanted to try their own twist on this popular meal, so they founded Hawaiian Brothers Island Grill in 2018.

The McNies knew Hawaiian food was extremely popular, so they created the perfect lunch or dinner meal- two scoops of rice, one scoop of macaroni salad, and a big helping of slow-roasted BBQ meat.

The restaurant chain also features salads, steamed veggies, pineapple, and roasted spam. Yes, that’s right, roasted spam.

Hawaiian Brothers is expanding rapidly, with plans for 10 new locations in Iowa in 2023 and Missouri to add to its 40 current locations in 7 states.

Hawaiian Brothers also opened its first Arizona location in March 2023.
