Lou Malnati’s Pizza Corporate Office

Lou Malnati’s Pizza was founded in 1971 in Lincolnwood, Illinois. Malnati grew up learning about the pizza business at his father’s Pizzaria Uno restaurant. Lou Malnati’s father created the original Chicago style deep dish pizza, often referred to as a pizza pie.

Today, Lou Malnati’s Pizza has 56 locations, all within the greater Chicago area with the exception of one location in Phoenix, Arizona.

Lou Malnati’s Pizza is one of the best known pizza restaurants in the state of Illinois. In addition to the restaurants, the company owns a division called Lou Malnati Presents Tastes of Chicago, which in collaboration with Portillo Restaurants, ships frozen pizza nationwide.

In September 2020, the Daily Meal listed Lou Malnati’s Pizza on their list of Top 100 Best Pizza Restaurants.

EatStreet was founded in 2010 in Madison, Wisconsin. Originally named BadgerBites, the company offers delivery service from local restaurants. Initially, the company operated solely in the Madison area.

Today, EatStreet operates out of 150 major US cities and has contracts with more than 15,000 restaurants. The company takes orders via their mobile app, from their online site, other digital sites, as well as Facebook. In 2013, the company was named #2 on StrategyEye’s list of Food Delivery Start Up to Watch.

Papa Murphy’s Take N Bake Pizza Corporate Office

Papa Murphy’s Take N Bake Pizza began in 1984 as Murphy’s Pizza. Papa Aldo’s Pizza began in 1981. These two companies merged into Papa Murphy’s in 1995 when Terry Collins purchased both companies.

The company operates a chain of “take and bake” pizza restaurants, with most of the locations being franchises. Lee Equity Partners of New York purchased the chain in 2010 and went public on the NYSE under the ticker symbol: FRSH in 2014. Quick Service Restaurants rated Papa Murphy’s in 2013 with the Franchisee Satisfaction Award and Top Pizza Chain in 2014.

Papa Murphy’s Take N Bake Pizza currently has more than 1,425 stores in 38 states. There are also locations in Canada and Dubai. Because the pizzas sold are uncooked, most locations allow them to be purchased with food stamps or EBT.

Home Run Inn Corporate Office

Home Run Inn was founded in 1923 by Vincent and Mary Grittani. Originally a tavern, when a home run ball broke the window of the tavern during a game, the pair decided to rename the business Home Run Inn.

Today, Home Run Inn is a chain of Chicago style pizza restaurants. Mary Grittani developed the pizza recipe in 1940, which is still used today. The company began selling frozen pizzas in the area in the 1950’s and in the late 80’s, a frozen pizza manufacturing plant was constructed. The second plant was constructed in 1996, which has allowed the company to offer their frozen pizzas in 30 states.

As of 2015, the company has 8 locations, all in the greater Chicago area. Consumer Reports listed Home Run Inn pizza as the #1 frozen pizza in America in2013.

Instacart Corporate Office

Instacart was founded in 2012 in San Francisco, California, by former Amazon employee Apoorva Mehta. Mehta wanted to create a delivery service similar to Amazon, but one that delivered fresh produce and groceries to customers from their local stores within hours after being ordered.

The company offers a delivery service of items purchased from a wide variety of grocery stores, as well as other types of stores, including Ralph’s, Market Basket, Petco, Costco, and Target, to name a few. Forbes magazine listed Instacart as “the most promising company in America” in January of 2015

Instacart mainly operates via its smartphone app, but it can be used on laptops, tablets, or desktop computers. Customers pay online as well via Apple Pay or Android Pay.

Instacart has approximately 500 employees, operates out of 15 major cities, including Denver and Los Angeles, and offers delivery from 24 stores, with more being added. In December of 2015, Instacart raised their prices by 50 percent, while cutting their payment to couriers by 50 percent in some areas.

In September of 2016, the company announced an expansion to their North Chicago area and in October of 2016, Instacart expanded their Orange County and Minneapolis coverage areas.

As of March 2017, Instacart services 36 markets, composed of 1,200 cities in 25 states: Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and Washington.

Also in March of 2017, Instacart agreed to pay a $4.6 million class action settlement stemming from the misclassification of its shopping employees as independent contractors. The suit alleged 18 violations, including improper tip pooling and failure to reimburse workers for business expenses.
