Maggiano’s Corporate Office

Maggiano’s Little Italy was founded in Chicago, Illinois, in 1991. The company operates a chain of casual, full-service Italian restaurants. Brinker International purchased the company in 1995.

The company had 4 locations in the greater Chicago area until they were acquired by Brinker International. Today, the company has more than 50 locations in 21 states. The company focuses on re-creating the “family-sized” portions that were common pre-WWII. In addition to classic Italian food, the company also offers contemporary dishes, such as salads, pasta, steaks, daily chef specials, and seafood.

Maggiano’s Little Italy also offers in-house banquet rooms and catering services.

In October 2022, the company announced that it would be closing its venue in Lettuce Entertain You Frequent Diner Club.

Cosi Corporate Office

Cosi was founded in Deerfield, Massachusetts, in 1996. The company operates a chain of restaurants that focuses on using flatbreads baked on site.

Cosi filed for bankruptcy in September of 2016, forcing them to close approximately 29 of their company owned locations. The company is currently looking for a buyer.

Enjoy Life Foods was founded in 2001 by current CEO Scott Mandel in Schiller Park, Illinois. The company produces food products that are free from the top 8 most common allergens, as well as gluten free, and GMO free.

The company began with only 12 food products, but today offers more than 50 different foods, including cookies, bagels, chocolate bars, baking chocolate, lentil chips, baking mixes, and trail mix.

Mondelez International acquired Enjoy Life Foods in 2015 for an undisclosed amount. In addition to food, the company has also published several gluten free cookbooks, and a Food Allergy and Intolerance Survival Guide. The company recently opened a state of the art bakery in Jefferson, Indiana.

Brown & Cole Markets were forced to close several locations around the Yakima, Burlington, and Arlington areas due to fierce competition from Wal-Mart. The company provides health insurance and union benefits to its employees, while Wal-Mart does not.

PDQ was founded in 2009 in Tampa, Florida, by former Outback Steak House founder Bob Basham, and current CEO Nick Reader. PDQ originally stood for Pretty Damn Quick, but the company changed its mind fairly early and now states it means People Dedicated to Quality.

The company operates a chain of casual restaurants serving chicken, sandwiches, and hand-tossed salads. Currently, there are 60 locations, all company owned, in 11 states, with plans for expansion. Basham claims that each location averages $3 million in annual revenue.

PDQ is perhaps best known for their drive-thrus that have no speakers for ordering in advance. Food is prepared when it is ordered and not even a few minutes before. Employees quickly discover that restaurants do not have freezers. Ingredients are delivered daily and products are always fresh, not frozen.
