Pollo Campero was founded in 1971 in Guatemala by the Guitierrez family. The company operates an international chain of fast food chicken restaurants. Franchising began in South America in 1992. The chain began operating in the US in 2002. The chain had revenue in excess of $1 million in less than 60 days.

The company is best known for its citrus flavored roasted chicken, as well as a variety of salsa flavors. The menu includes items such as Peruvian grilled chicken, family sized meals, chicken empanadas and salads, yucca fries, plantains, and Latin coleslaw. Pollo Campero has more than 350 locations worldwide and is still owned and operated by the Guitierrez family.

Pollo Campero has locations in the US, Guatemala, Italy, Honduras, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Equador, Mexico, Spain, Kingdom of Bahrain, and Nicaragua. The company states that it has plans to open at least 5 more franchises in the US alone in 2017.

F’Real Foods Corporate Office

F’Real Foods was founded in 2003 in Orinda, California, by Jim Ferrell. Ferrell started his company working out of his garage at home. The company produces a specialized type of blender and cups of ingredients to make milkshakes and smoothies.

The company sells its products in more than 10,000 outlets, such as stores, university cafeterias and military bases in the United States and Canada. F’Real Foods quickly outgrew their Orinda facility and moved in 2013 to nearby Emeryville. The company continues to grow by approximately 25 percent each year and expects to hire approximately 25 new employees every year for the next few years.

Ferrell was a former employee of Dreyer’s Ice Cream and he claims that people will choose to buy a milkshake or smoothie over a soda if they can get one easily. As of December 2012, the company is a subsidiary of Rich Products Corporation.

Slyman’s Restaurant Corporate Office

Slyman’s Restaurant was founded in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1965 by current co-owners Fred Slyman and Pat D’Onofrio. The company operates a casual, American style restaurant.

The company licensed out the name “Slyman’s” to a small group of restaurants in Northeast Ohio, but there are no franchises at this time. The restaurant is a well-known marker and is so popular that customers are often left waiting outside since the restaurant seats only 60 persons. Slyman and D’Onofrio opened a second location ,which is slightly different from the original, in 2015, called Slyman’s Tavern, which seats 150, as well as offering a to-go menu.

Slyman’s Restaurant offers typical American fare, including chicken, salads, sandwiches, but no alcoholic drinks. Slyman’s Tavern, however, will feature the same basic food items as the restaurant, including a few new options, as well as alcoholic beverages.

Piccadilly Public House Corporate Office

Piccadilly Public House goes back to 1900, when the building was originally used as a grocery store warehouse for local grocery stores. The building retains its original brick walls and wood floors, although the remainder of the building has been restored.

The company originally started off as a pub, but decided that the former “public house”, as it was called, should return to its roots by feeding the public. The building now has two sections, a full service restaurant, as well as a pub. An outdoor patio features a big screen television, which offers sports games on weekends, as well as providing space for smokers.

Drake Family Farms Corporate Office

Drake Family Farms was founded in West Jordan, Utah, in 1880 by English immigrant Edward Drake. Originally an agricultural farm, the Drake’s did not have more than a few farm animals until the 1980’s, when Dan Drake got a pet goat. The family began breeding goats, then selling goat products.

Today, the farm is almost exclusively about goats. The company sells pasteurized goat milk, goat cheese, flavored cheeses, and yogurt. Health requirements make pasteurizing goat milk and goat milk products a necessity, but many health enthusiasts go directly to the farm for fresh, raw goat milk. The company’s herd consists of Nubian, Saanen, Alpine, and Snubian Goats. (Snubians are a hybrid cross between Saanen and Nubians). In addition to foods, the company sells goat milk soap.

Drake Family Farms is still owned and operated by the Drake family. The company does not offer tours, but it does have a small store where products can be purchased. Products are also sold at local Whole Foods and other health stores in the area.
