I have tried 2 days to get through to Human Resources with no success. I stayed on the phone one day for 30 minutes with no answer and the next for 45 minutes. There is a critical matter I need to take care of yet cannot get this company to answer the phones.
Shame on you First Energy for treating your former employees this way.

On 12/31/2017 and 1/1/2018, I paid the same bill online twice.
This happened because the pay bill page doesn’t show pending payment instantly.
On top of that the system is antiquated in its ability to return over payments electronically,
so they offer you a choice of having it left for future payments (not a bad idea) or a check in the mail(which they forgot to mention), so I thought it was being deposited electronically back into our account (wrong).
Although having the money still on your account for future payments is a good idea for most, for us it is not an option we can use, because we are on a fixed income and need all our money in the bank to pay our other bills, Dr., food, medication, water, gas and cable.
The check is a loss of money, because we have to travel to the bank or some other place to cash the check, at a cost of $40-$50 round trip in a cab, now the $100.26 check is only worth $50-$60 after cashing it.
I have called the electric utility and was told the reason they pay in check is, because it is cheaper than paying the bank for an electronic return payment.
Then I called the bank they told me I could use their banking app, by taking a picture of the check, that didn’t work either, because our cell phone is to old, or I’m unable to hold the camera still long enough for it to take the picture?
So now we have a $100.64 signed check.
We can take a chance on the mail for delivery, to our bank.
Now the check is only worth $94.64 because of postage and registering it for insurance if it gets lost in transit to the bank.
The end result is we get screwed either way we go, because the check didn’t show up until the due date of the bill 1/22/2018 and can now play havoc on our line of credit for the next 7 years as a late payment, hopefully this won’t happen?
So that’s my case.
Please fix this problem, our bank said it doesn’t have to be a problem, if you the
“electric utility”(talk to) “your bank” as this is a free service unless it’s an electronic wire that cost $30.
If that’s how you’re doing business, please stop, we can’t afford to pay for your antiquated system of doing things.
We are no longer in the stone ages, stop making us pay for your inadequacies with substandard online services.

I attended my annual HEAP appt. on 3/3/17. Rep informed me of my new PIP payment ($26) and said I would get a letter in the mail from Columbus after my paperwork was finalized. On 3/27/17, I paid $26 via internet. I called FE to pay by phone with REP on 4/21/17 and was advised to pay $82.00 because my account balance was $108 to be placed back on PIP. The rep advised me that HEAP should have advised me that $108 was due from me to be placed on the payment plan of $26 per month. I was not aware of that and the rep told me I needed to pay the balance of $82.00 to be placed on PIP and it would take a while for the bill to update.. I paid the $82.00 and received a large bill in May 2017, which, I disregarded because the rep informed me that upcoming bill would be inflated because the PIP would not be reinstated in time for bill print. I called the FE office on 6/30 but the hold time was very long, I pressed the buttons for them to call me back and no one did….I logged into my account on 7/1/17 and the amount due was $78 at that time, which I paid, Not realizing that my PIP payment was not yet updated.
I called in again on 7/13/17 and spoke to Ken, He advised me that I needed to pay $77.76 and he would place me back on PIP, I advised him that the rep I spoke with on 4/21/17 was to re-enroll me in PIP with my $82 payment and never did…He didn’t investigate, just said I needed to pay. I called back on 7/20/17 to check if my PIP was showing on the account, I spoke to Crystal and she said she would re-enroll me in PIP because the rep on 4/21/17 made a mistake and I actually did NOT have to pay the $77.76 that Ken told me to pay on 7/13/17. I cancelled the payment at my bank and received a call from FE saying I needed to call them about my account….I called in and the rep was asking me to repay the $77.76 from the stop payment and I requested to speak to a manager. Manager Tasha came on the line and tried to sort the mess out. Tasha DID acknowledge that Crystal made a mistake by telling me I did not need to pay. I asked her why the rep on 4/21/17 did not re-enroll me in PIP as promised, therefore, I would never have been disenrolled on 5/8. Tasha apologized for the mix up and asked me to pay $77.76 and she would get me re-enrolled in PIP today! I paid $77.76 AGAIN, But also called Columbus HEAP office and they advised me that I should have been put back on PIP in April and was not sure why FE did not place me on in a timely manner. Columbus HEAP sent an “inquiry” to the local HEAP office and I received a call from Denise, whom was extremely rude and had very poor phone etiquette and dialect, She used slang and was talking over me where I could not get a word in. Basically, she told me I needed to pay $238.27 and to come in the next day and I can apply for Summer Crisis and the bill would be paid. She did not want to hear what happened previously, She hung up and realized she never told me where to come, called me back and gave me the address. 🙁
I called the Columbus HEAP office back and they said that FE needs to fix my account because they should have reinstated my PIP on 4/21/17 once the $82 payment was made to satisfy the $108 balance. ($26 was paid on 3/26/17) I called FE on another phone, had both reps on the line and HEAP wanted me to ask HOW are they coming up with $238.27 as my balance to be placed back on PIP..Rep couldn’t explain at FE, Tasha, advised me to pay $77.76, now its a different amount altogether…..This rep at FE was Rhonda she stated entire bill and payments are confusing, she could not explain why I was not re-enrolled on PIP on 4/21/17, Only saying the rep did not send the order to re-enroll in PIP! Manager Tasha NEVER told me anything about a balance of $238.27, Only spoke about $77.76.
I FEEL THAT I ONLY OWE $26. FOR AUGUST BILL, BUT I AM PAYING $77.76 and as of right now I am STILL NOT back on PIP, Even after HEAP office rep told me on 3/3/17, FE Rep told me she was re-enrolling me on 4/21/17, After Ken advised me with the payment on 7/13/17, Crystal promised me reenrollment on 7/20/17 and Manager Tasha said she was re-enrolling me as we spoke with the $77.76 repayment and HEAP in Columbus states that I am STILL NOT ON PIP!
PLEASE HELP, PLEASE HELP ASAP
