Fiesta Mart was founded in 1972 in Houston, Texas, by Donald Bonham and O.C. Mendenhall. Although neither are of Hispanic origin, Bonham had previously done farming in Guatemala and Belize. He recognized that Texas had few Hispanic supermarkets. The original Fiesta Mart supermarket catered mainly to the Hispanic culture. Later, as different people made Texas their home, the markets added other ethnic foods for Koreans and Filipinos.
Today, Fiesta Mart has more than 34 supermarkets in the Houston area, with 16 more located in other areas of Texas. The company also operates Fiesta Liquor and Beverage Mart brands. The company was acquired in 2004 by Grocers Supply. In 2011, Fiesta Mart purchased 11 Carnival brand stores and in July of 2016, they acquired 11 Minyard locations in the Northern part of Texas.
In addition to food, locations offer a variety of services including money orders, Western Union, utility company payments, lottery ticket sales, sporting event tickets, and vehicle license registration renewal payments.

I am disabled and carry a medical bag. I visited your store on Lancaster one day to get some meat and the lady told me to come back the next day because that’s when the truck would be in, so I did. When I came back to shop once again, this security guard named William Old(who I am now taking to small claims court) yelled for me to put my bag in the locker. I told him that it was a medical bag and he told me that he didn’t care. I told him that he needed to get the manager but he refused then he pulled out his pepper spray and I asked him what was he going to do with that. He told me that he would show me. That’s when I pulled out my phone and started recording and I said “look at this n*gga about to pepper spray me” then he said “call me n*gga again”,Then he pulled out his baton and told me to leave the store. I told him that he better get the manager, then he pepper sprayed me and hit me in my head with his baton. Then he grabbed me and threw me over the entrance rail all because I started recording and said “look at this n*gga”….

My wife and I witnessed a horrible lack of humanity yesterday (4/4/21) at the Fiesta (store #11) on 4711 Airline, Houston Tx. We turned down the isle where the frozen vegetables and sports drinks are located and saw a disabled man with his jean shorts down trying to reach for some gatorade. He was also struggling to pull up his shorts because he didn’t have the strength to do it. We asked him did he need some help and he said yes please. I walked over to him and grabbed the back of shorts then I noticed he had urinated on himself and all over the floor. I let his shorts go and told him I will be right back with some help. When I walked away from him, I saw two employees down the isle just starring at him. I told them this guy needs some help, he urinated on himself and he can’t pull his shorts up. One of the workers finally went to go get a manager and this guy was a real piece of work (His name was Jesus). Jesus walked up to the man and just stood there with a look of disgust and silence for 2 minutes. My wife said he needs help, he can’t pull his shorts up. Jesus continued to stand there silently. He finally says, sir I’m not touching you. You are wet and I don’t have any gloves. Jesus made this man struggle and use all of the little strength he had to pull up his shorts. I was so angry and upset that I became mentally emotional and we walked off. We continued shopping a few isles over and I saw Jesus go to the meat area and get some gloves from the butcher (what took you so long a*$hole). As we are still shopping I now see Jesus pulling this man through the store by his belt (which was torn so he couldn’t buckle it to support his shorts) and this man had a terrible limp in his walk. It was embarrassing, humiliating, belittling, everything you could imagine for this man. Just go get him a motorized cart a*$hole! The bathroom is on the other end of the store, so he literally pulled this man through the entire store by his belt and made him limp all the way to the bathroom in front of everybody. As we were checking out I saw Jesus so I walked over to him and asked him did that guy leave. I will buy him a belt if he is still here (I was so mad that I wasn’t thinking it all the way through. I forgot to think about some new shorts too hell.). Jesus told me the guy was still in restroom and his niece was on the way with some fresh clothes and to pick him up. I said ok and walked back to my wife. Jesus then told my wife sorry ma’am and walked off. I saw a so-called leader/manager take advantage of a disabled man at Fiesta. This is unacceptable and I hope the owners of Fiesta see this post and email me if they have further questions.

I visited Fiesta Mart on Lancaster Road in Dallas, Tx on yesterday 12/09/2019. The store was a complete mess compared to how it looks on a typical day. Lines were outrageous and the aisles were very poorly stocked. I needed to purchase baby formula for my infant who might I add is ill and was in the car crying. After searching for te minutes i finally found an associate. I asked for her to assist in locating the Enfamil Gentlease formula and she began to look for the key. She asked the manager Victoria ( whom this complaint is about) for the key and she advised the key was outside with propane. So i questioned if someone could obtain the key so i would know whether the store had the formula. Victoria yelled ” IM HANDLING CASH RIGHT NOW’ I rebuttaled can someone please get the key i have an infant who needs formula. She shrugged her shoulders like I DONT CARE. I then asked for the manager she stated that me, i replied im caling corporate and she yelled ” I DONT CARE”. I am totally in dismay that i received such service being that I have frequented this store for the last 20 yrs. I will not accept disrespect or continue to patronize a store that has such little professionalism. I am going to vontinue to complain about this until i am ensured no one else is treated this way in FIESTA MART.

On February 9, 2019 I visited Fiesta, located on Dairy Ashford and Westheimer to purchase some vegetables. The supervisor Anna McClean seemed to have an attitude when asked about pricing because it appeared that the prices were label incorrectly. The young cashier appeared as though he couldn’t read because when scanning my Perrier Water it read Wine/Beer. I shared that the water wasn’t Wine or Beer and the Supervisor Anna McClean interrupted by telling me that he didn’t understand, I then stated to her to read the product before making an assumption. Anna McClean to me to leave and shop at another store if I didn’t like the way Fiesta was running their store. I am employed with the Department of Labor and am wondering exactly how are you running your store? I have attempted to contact someone of authority and no one answers your phone as well as the grocery stores. Is it normal for Fiesta Stores to place insubordinates in positions of leadership who treat customers with disrespect> I am needing results as it relates to Anna McClean.

I have been buying tamales at my local Fiesta in Austin, # 25, 3909 E 38 1/2 Street for years. Even buy them for gifts during the holiday season. Today I had a taste for tamales, rush over to the store,purchased.$15.99 work of pork and chicken tamales, for me, daughter and friends. Got home and opened up the pork tamale to eat. Much to my surprise they were fat tamales with a small amount of filling. I could not believe how thick the masa was. Not the thin tasty tamales that I remember. Then I tried the chicken. Used a knife to remove most of the masa.
Now I have 10 tamales that I will not share with co-workers, friends or family. What happened?

I was checking out at your Fiesta Mart Market #207 8040 Ferguson rd…the checker Lauren informed me i had too many items for the express 10 item line ( i had 3 sodas. 3 frozen dinners, a bag of pizza rolls, 2 pot pies, and 3 pumpkins..total 12 items).. there was no one behind me, no one in the line beside mine…i told her I had 12 items and she should not argue with customers even if she is correct..she rolled her eyes..i asked for the manager, she said she was…i am tired after working all day and do not need attitude from a 20 year old..the several faces she pulled while checking me out were classic 3 year old; and i told her so…she shoved the receipt at me and walked off without a word to chat w/ another checker…great upfront people you have representing your store…

I was in one of your store on Bellaire and Gessner today/ this morning 10 am, the clerk name Olga behind the service booth was very rude and unprofessional. I and my son have asked for the manager name Bernie to help us out, how he explained to us on the policy of the refund/ and return of the money order that my son just bought yesterday.
Please inform your clerk name Olga re-train her on customer service and your policy before you place her in the CUSTOMER SERVICE booth. It is the customer service booth that the personnel needs to take time out to explains to the customers in a professional manner, not look and talking to us.
Please follow up and inform us on this issue!

I received a rain check for fresh beef short ribs for the ad 6/7 – 6/13 (you all were out of them) for a price of $2.97 per pound. It states on the rain check it is valid for 4 weeks from ad date. I tried to redeem the rain check today and the butcher refused to give me the price of $2.97. The manager was there and did not intervene on by behalf. The butcher finally said I could have the one package containing about 10 short ribs for $2.97, but not the smaller packages containing about 5 short ribs. I asked what the difference was, the butcher said one package was bigger than the other. So?? Why was this rain check not honored for the advertised price of $2.97? I feel I was discriminated against because I was not in the right ethic group to receive the rain check price. Was I?

I have been a loyal customer of fiesta over 2 decades ever since we moved to Texas my parents always went to the Fiesta located in Hillcroft and Bellaire. When we moved from that area we had a new fiesta location to go to the one in Bellaire and gessner. I have never had or encounter any issues as the one I experienced on June 13 2017. I recently move to Pasadena and as a loyal customer I was happy to find out there was a fiesta close to where I live. I’m a mother of two small children. I went to the fiesta on Spencer highway to buy some snacks and 3 packs of the 20pack coke products that was on special. I didn’t notice my receipt when I payed and noticed when I was already in my car ready to leave that the system had charged 3 item regular price since there was a 2 limit on it. So I went back inside and spoke to a supervisor and asked her politely if she could honor the 3rd item for the sale price since I only was taking one extra and not taking advantage of the limits. She refused and went on explaining about store policies etc etc..which I replied telling her I have worked for Walgreens over 10 years and we always focued on providing customer service. She was rude and said this isn’t walgreens.and completely disregarded that what I was trying to imply. Now I know Fiesta is all about themselves and not their customers . I could have easily done 2 separate transactions to get the sale price I could have but I didn’t. And when I asked her for something so simple she felt like it was something out of this world i was asking her to do. Yet with other customers or even employees you override prices like nothing.. I was not buying 20 packs it was only one extra. And she refused and made me feel bad. I never ask for things like this, but it seemed unfair to pay full price for 3rd item when I was getting 2 for sale. So I said I was returning it for refund..she was rude and said okay bring it in. Which I did after asking her for corporate office number. Which I called and a lady answered and said I will get a call back which I didn’t get any call back. Never will in spend another dime in fiesta. They do not care for their honest and loyal customers. The worst customer service ever.. I will never return to your store and spend any of my money.

On October 31, 2016 I went to Fiesta at 9420 Cullen. I tried to purchase two five hundred money orders. The teller at booth 57 told me I had insufficient funds. After being told I had insufficient funding I left and came back the following day. Then I was told that again, so I called my bank IBC and was told that money came out, on the 31st of October, at Fiesta. Would you please look into this matter for me because there’s some fraudulent activities going on in there? I even spoke to the store manager Jesse Martinez about this matter and he wasn’t helpful at all. He brushed me off like my situation didn’t matter. I am a loyal customer and I want to be respected as a customer instead of brushed off like a animal.
