Visited Famous Dave’s Carowinds Restaurant in Fort Mill, SC on 8/17/22. Brought to the attention of the waitress that the ribs were undercooked. I was told that it was nothing she could do about it. After showing her the inside of the ribs she rudely took the plate and said she would bring me another plate of ribs. I requested to see the manager but the waitress told me he said he wasn’t coming out. I paid for my drink and told them don’t even bother bringing me a new plate of ribs. Famous Dave’s was one of my favorite restaurant but after this experience I will not visit again. Posted a picture of the ribs that I had that was undercooked and people couldn’t believe that there were given to me.

So I took my dad to the famous daves in lacrosse, wi today. Thought why not, we haven’t been there for awhile. We go in get seated and there are like 6 other people in the restaurant. We order and wait and wait and wait. When we get our food I mentioned to the waiter that my food was cold and he said nothing and just walked away. So I didn’t eat it. Then my dad wanted a refill on coffee and had to wait 15 minutes to get a refill. They didn’t bring the coffee to us they took the cup he was using and took it to the back to get filled, which I thought was wierd. Then my dad wanted dessert so he got the bread pudding and i ordered cheese cake. They were not bad, but what the bad part was is, my dad had to eat the bread pudding with a fork because the waiter said they ran out of spoons. How the f**k does a restuarant run out of spoons when they only have 6 other people eating. That wasn’t the worst of it. The worst of it was the price for a cup of coffee $3.29 for a cup of coffee. Wtf. Then we had to sit and wait for 15 minutes to pay the bill. One of the waitresses cleaned off the table and I said can we pay this so we can go she said, I can’t touch his bill so you will have to wait for your waiter. Pretty bad when you go to a restaurant to have a quick sandwich and your bill is almost $60 for not a lot of food. No wonder they are losing customers.

I am writing this email to express what can only be described as the most disappointing & embarrassing meal I have ever overpaid from a restaurant. I just paid over $230 for a “Family Meal” for 15 ppl…that statement alone is an embarrassment to your restaurant. As the Captain of my station, it is a tradition & an honour at the fire hall to provide a Christmas dinner to show my appreciation for the hard work that my crew does all year. Of my 8 person crew, your 15 person “family meal”, allowed 6….(SIX!!!!) members to have an average portion of mashed potatoes, 8 members to have ONE serving of corn, and 8 members to have ONE serving of an extremely fatty & mediocre brisket….THAT is pathetic.
No sauces, no buns, absolutely terrible experience.
I will certainly have no issue sharing this brutal experience with all 1200 members of this department, as well as happily “sharing “ this experience on ever social media platform I am able….not only was the food an embarrassment, but the embarrassment I have experienced is completely humiliating.

my Order # 5697873085480960 so you can have it for reference it contains all of my information so you can get in contact with me as soon as possible so we can figure out how to correct this issue. First of all I would like to congratulate the chefs on the great job they did with the flavors of the meats, potatoes and gravy.
My first issue is I ordered one container of potatoes and one container of cornbread stuffing. The people that you have working for you who are filling the bags and filling the containers are doing 1 star work. My order was not filled filled appropriately I received two containers of mashed potatoes that were definitely not quart-size and containers were only about halfway full. I also received absolutely no barbecue sauce. the entire meal as far as taste was excellent but as for the proportions I have never been so disappointed in Famous Dave’s in my entire life. You guys are usually one where I can go to and when I pay extra money I’m very confident that I will get proportions that will fill me up. For 3 adults I paid $85 and everyone walked away hungry.
after spending $85 on that amount of food I only had three people eating there should have been many leftovers based on the proportions you gave in past years and also the proportions I paid for. If my quarts would have been full, many potatoes should have been left over. if the beef brisket would have truly been a pound I definitely would have had leftovers and the rack of ribs unbelievably small. Flavor only goes so far, people pay for things and expect to receive them. Again for $85 and only having three people eating and there was no leftovers you can tell how ridiculous the proportion were. I don’t know what you’ve changed but I know I don’t like it as I said before whenever I go to Famous Dave’s I always leave unbelievably full as your proportions are so good. This year for Thanksgiving you took advantage of me and I would like to have you corrected as soon as possible. I look forward to hearing from you ASAP thank you

Manager at la crosse wi location Michael called my 16 y.o daughter a piece of sh*t. She is 4.0 student. Very respectful and responsible. She told me she was stressed, keeps crying, and just failed a test. She felt no time to study and stressed with work. I told her now is time to focus on school tell your job you need to stop working right now. My daughter calls and d*ckhead Michael answers. Before she can explain anything he goes off calling her piece of sh*t, disrespectful for quitting and can guarantee she don’t have a job then hung up. Now first of all manager shouldn’t talk to employees like that, let alone a kid.. my damn kid! She literally just turned 16. You would think famous Dave’s supports kids education. Most places around here that employ kids have rule if doing bad in school can’t work. But he crossed the line someone needs to address it bc I sure as he’ll will when I see him. Pathetic a** behavior and disappointing!!

So, here’s my experience with Famous Dave’s BAR-B-Q. I was invited in for open interviews after viewing my resume I submitted on indeed. I walked in and was greeted by a bartender or hostess I wasn’t sure what her tittle was. I said Hi, I was invited for an interview with a manager through indeed. She replied, just to let you know the manager is going to tell you to dye your hair it is company policy to have natural colored hair. She paused and says let me go get my manager and she can explain it. The manager come out and was very nice and says it’s company policy and I don’t make the rules I just have to follow them, even if I don’t agree. The manager says let me go into the back and double check if that’s still a rule in the employee hand book. While I was waiting another potential hire walks in the door for the open interview as well she has bright red hair. The employee tells her to take a seat and as she is walking away the employee says, oh geez another one. I felt completely discriminated against and me and the redhead decided to leave together. I feel it is my right to express myself. It’s freedom of expression.
Roxana Rivera says
Definitely discriminating, yesterday I had my short hair half tied and off my face at my shoulders and was told three times to tie/fix my hair while 2 other employees either had their hair completely down or in the same style and nothing was said to them. I felt so disrespected and discriminated. I am looking to find Human Resources to express this issue but I’m not sure where to do so.

On Friday, 6/18/21 I completed an online order for pick up at 12:45 on Sunday 6/20/21 at the Peoria AZ location. At 12:30 on Sunday, I called the Peoria restaurant to confirm my order would be ready on time since last year around the same time I placed and online order that was not ready at the designated time and I waited an additional 45 minutes for my order to be ready. Last year I gave Famous Daves the benefit of the doubt because restaurants were just opening after being closed due to Covid which is why I called this year to ensure I would not be waiting for my order. When I called this year, I was told they were behind about 15 minutes but I was assured by order would be ready by 1:15 as I needed to deliver it to a Fathers Day event by 1:30 (if I arrived 15 minutes late due to the late order it would be ok). When I arrived a Famous Daves, I waited in line and made to the front by 1:20. At that time I was told my order was not ready, and they were an hour behind so my order possibly would not be ready until 1:45 -2. This was not acceptable. What was the point in calling to receive inaccurate information. I cancelled by order but was told the refund for the purchase (debited from my bank account that morning) would take 3-4 days to process. So Famous Daves can take my money, not supply me with what I ordered in a timely manner, and not refund my money for up to 4 days. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. It will not happen a third time. Famous Daves was ok with taking the online orders and, from what I heard, taking additional phone and walk up orders that as long as they made money, it doesn’t bother them to inconvenience people up to an hour. In the case of the Peoria location yesterday, it was people waiting outside in 116 degree temperatures with no shade or water to be offered. If more people cancelled their orders like I did instead of waiting, Famous Daves would have lost revenue and would begin to revamp their polices and procedures for order taking, staffing, and other necessary protocols for holiday orders.
Again, this completely unacceptable and there are several other BBQ restaurants in my area such as Rudys, Dickeys, and small mom and pop restaurants that I can patronize.

I had tried 2 times to visit Famous Dave’s in North Olmsted, Ohio.
On July 3rd day before my birthday with family. We arrived at 4:30 p.m. and was told by the mgr that it would be 11/2 hrs wait. We decided not to wait and wasn’t happy. This favorite Bbq Restaurant. We live near an hour away…2 hrs in travel.
I also tried calling to see if Reservations could be made. On hold for about 20 minutes to be told no.
So later in the week we went again to be told again it would be 45 minutes…so we left again…
My birthday dessert has expired.
This last time we were told the kitchen was over whelmed with carryout and that is why we had to wait this long. We arrived at 2:30.
Don’t want to drive that far to have the same experience.
I think the voice mail should state no reservations can be made.
Phone should also be answered promptly!!

I went to one of the Dave’s in Maryland and was not happy with the food. It seems as though the quality has gone down since Covid. I asked my server *who was great), for a complimentary muffin, he said thst they cannot do that, I then ordered the Louis and meat combo, with catfish, potato salad, he then said “we no longer carry potato salad.” I’m thinking what BBQ restaurant doesn’t serve potato salad.” When my meal came out , the catfish fingers were small and wimpy looking. I was very dissatisfied with that expensive, mediocre meal. I will not be going back anymore, I felt like I wasted my money.

CORRECT, SIR, BUT YOU HAVE TO PROVIDE THAT SAFE WORK ENVIRONMENT!! then to my horror, he turned around and gave the sexual predator A RIDE HOME!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?? i try not to use swear words, BUT WHAT THE F**K IS GOING ON OVER THERE?!?!? a good man and loyal employee has to leave his job because you’re management team has the collective intelligence of a spoon. is it because hes black? old? male? i could not sleep after he told me this. SHAMEFUL!! why does my friend have to quit? because of your managers inaction’s? i am horrified. hurt. sad. he will be fine. he will still come over and play mario kart with my child. but i cannot, WILL NOT, stay quiet. shame on you. shame on this company. oh, and the sexual predator under your employ? hes fine. managers are giving him rides home. hell, he very well could be a manager in your company one day. it seems like that is the standards you are looking for. P.S…..i told him just dont go back…….F**K THAT PLACE! his response? i have a posted schedule, i have to do that…….thats the employee your management team is letting walk out the door. btw, no manager asked any questions because they all knew. they knew of this young mans conduct. DISGUSTING! this has gone on FOR WEEKS! when he finanally went to the GM, he was told…..” i will talk to him”. REALLY??

Today we went to Famous Dave’s #3248 in Woodbridge, VA. My wife, who is battling stage 4 cancer wanted one thing today, to visit your restaurant. When finished I asked that she be allowed to exit the back door, as it was close and she could barely walk. The manager James D. said “no”, through a server and didn’t bother to even come to us in person and explain why. Rude and inconsiderate. We used to enjoy your restaurant, however, we will now use every social media venue we can to let people know the lack of caring your establishment has for the old, sick or handicapped. Shame on you!

Sir,
I forgot to add in my complaint. Through out this whole ordeal there was never one apology rendered from Gustavo or Q. His initial approach was defending what his server said he did and never asking us what transpired. I understand team members try to cover themselves and say they did everything by the book but this wasn’t the case. The order was never repeated back to us. Gustavo immediately believed his employee and not once acknowledged what we were saying. We were made to feel like liars or people trying to get over on them. No guest should be made to feel like this. The managers idea of satisfying the guest was giving us $26 off, confiscating the food that we paid for in addition to our meal. My question is why weren’t we allowed to keep the additional sides that we purchased. Those were ours and were taken back without being refunded. Is that your company policy.
On top of that 10 days have gone by and my issue still hasn’t been resolved. Never received a called from the COO Tony Muniz

Hello Sir,
I am writing to explain to you what occurred during my visit Saturday April 27, 2019. I copied the GM on this email because he was the problem. I have never complained about an experience in a restaurants because I deal with guest complaints daily but this took the cake. This was my first time visiting a Famous Dave’s. The guest who accompanied my wife and I had patronized Famous Dave’s previously and raved about how good the food was so we decided to go there because of his birthday. The server we had “Q’ was the ultimate professional. He was gave us good service up until the check arrived. We inquired about the different meals because as I previously stated this was my wife and I’s first visit. Q told us how much food we would get with the feast for 2 and how many people (adults) it would feed. After the discussion both couples ordered the feast for 2 with additional sides of macaroni and broccoli. The food arrived in a timely manner. We consumed what we could and asked for carry out boxes and containers. “Q” provided us with the containers. He then asked us if we wanted 1 check or 2. I responded 2 separate checks. When the check arrived we both realized we were charged for All American feasts. This is not what we ordered. Not once was an All American feast discussed. I don’t know if Q misunderstood what we wanted due to our different discussions about the various menu items but that’s not what we ordered. In fact my wife pointed to the menu to what we wanted. I’m aware in my business experience that mistakes happen. We brought this to Q’s attention and after some back and forth discussion he said he would go talk to his manager. He disappeared for a few minutes and came with my manager said since you touched the food you will be charged for the food and what we didn’t eat will be taken back if he gives us the $39.99 meal for 2. We politely asked for him to get the manager. This is when the experience became very uncomfortable. The manager Gustavo came to table. We asked him about the bill and his position became defensive and abrasive. He didn’t listen to our complaints he had his mind made up prior to him coming to the table and it was obvious. In the middle of my speaking to him he interrupted me mid-sentence. I brought this to his attention of him interrupting me and said I wasn’t finished speaking and his response “go ahead after your done I’ll explain. That was rude. This is the GM speaking to a guest like this?? He had no intentions of giving us good customer service. His mind was already made. I was outdone by his lack of concern for our problem resolution. I didn’t want to make a scene so I said ok. Q brought back the corrected receipt with a $26 manager comp applied to both checks. I began to look over the check and looked at tax. The tax didn’t appear corrected so I inquired was the tax based on $91 original meal with the discount applied or was the tax based on the $65 corrected total. Q goes to get Gustavo again for an explanation. In the middle of me inquiring he AGAIN interrupts me. Now this time I say are you going to keep interrupting me? He in his arrogance speaks as if he knew what I was going to ask. He then answered my question. Now to add insult to injury. The food we had purchased INCLUDING the extra sides we has purchased and confiscated by Q. I’m insulted by this act because who are they to tell my guests and I that we had consumed our $65 worth of food. They took EVERYTHING. Keep in mind we didn’t eat much because we had snacks while attending the Avengers movie. This was embarrassing. The guests across from us looked in disbelief like we couldn’t pay our bill and they took our food back. We couldn’t even take the food we purchased (the additional sides). I would like to be contacted about this visit immediately. I would like to be reimbursed. I don’t feel I consumed food equivalent to what I was charged or a feast for 2. They made the decision that I and my guests had and that wasn’t the case. Thank you.

I eat at Famous Dave’s in Waldorf. I think that since new management took over things have gotten worse. I called in an order yesterday Sunday 3/18/18. I asked how much burnt ends are in a dinner order? I was told 16 oz. I ordered the spicy fried chicken with 2 sides of corn and a burnt end dinner with corn and potato salad. 1) I was charged $19 and change for a hand full of meat cubes. 2) potato salad in now pale white with LARGE pieces of jalapeno pepper just thrown in. 3) I got REGULAR NOT SPICY fried chicken. 4)when I got there they didn’t know which food was mine because even though I spelled NAT to the lady on the phone my ticket was under ANT. I live in Waldorf but think that maybe ill have to travel ELSEWHERE to try a Famous Dave’s. The ONLY good thing was that Ms. Heather offered to give me some more burnt ends. THIS IS ACTUALLY MY 3RD BAD EXPERIENCE OUT OF 3 VISITS ??????????????????????????

Hi. I placed a online del8very order and had some problems.
1. I did not get all the items I ordered and paid for but I did get a note telling me while they didnot put extra bread in box (do to a charge for item) I did not realize there was a charge because I had recently visited another site and was given that item at no extra charge. But item I paid for was not given to me.
2. Food was cold. If I knew placing a late order would result in cold food would not have ordered especially since the resturant was not even 10min away from my location.
3. Portions – 1 dinner had less way less ( and it was only a few piece) brisket than other meal- we ordered 2 of the same meal
4. I know it was closed by the time our order was delivered to us and workers ready to go home – but worker didn’t seem to care or what to help so much so she asked me what I think she should do and when I could think of I quick response she was just, not involved or concerned. This could just be my impression but I was clam, not upset, loud or cusing.
I found it strange that I had to ask her if she wanted my contact info instead of her asking me as she was ready to end call.
Problem- i convinced others to try your establishment – i provided good review todo this. They listened to the employee response and was not impressed and told 3 other people about our experience – bad for you because their business is close to yours and their clients order food from resturants in that area 6 days a week.
Also missing part of meal was my part of the dinner I ordered so i did not have any meat., meal.
What did i learn : do not order from this site, especially in the evening, you don’t know if food you order is almost out. As a result you may end up with nothing or less than half of what you would normaly get.
And don’t tell anyone about good experience because that doesn’t mean the next encounter will be good or. That you will get the same treatment at another site.

My husband and I were in the Westland MI location and for dinner hours they were empty on a Friday night. It took 3 people to seat us and it was not in the booth we requested. That was after we waited five minutes to be acknowledged. Our very rough looking waitress appeared greeted us with “hey can what can I get you.”. We placed our water order which. TOOK FIVE MINUTES. Theh she said…”I’ll be back”…five minutes latet we left. We were so annoyed we left. Because I was so disappointed I called. A woman answered and I asked for the manager. A girl gets on the phone I launch into my story, she interrupts and said “oh do you want a manager”. Famous Mark gets on the phone and attempts to make a weak attempt at apologizing before I tell him issue. I said in my opinion you server “Sheryl” is awfu….he interrupts and tells me not to say that. Then he proceeds to tell me he is the top of the food chain at Famous Daves. We used to like that location but we will be passing the word on about this sad excuse for a restaurant.

What has happened to Famous Dave’s? Food used to be so consistent in quality. We had decided to pickup lunch to go and spend our anniversary at home watching movies. We have Famous Dave’s at least once a month and get pretty much the same thing.last month the food was just ok totally not the norm as we have always enjoyed very much.So my husband and I thought well let’s see if they can redeem themselves and it’s just not. I hope it’s just the Saginaw Michigan location and not nation wide. The brisket was barely smoke flavored and the ribs were dry and tough almost like they were reheated from the day before.PLEASE check into this location something is not right.thank you!

I purchased 2 groupon coupons online. I had the receipt and had use one 2 weeks before . Well I am not sure what happen but the second coupon wouldn’t go thru. Well the general manager Phil comes out and starts accusing me of making a copy of a coupon. I showed him my receipt and he sat there infront of other customers arguing with me and accusing me. All he had to do is explain to me it would not go thru and I would of been more then happy to pay the whole bill which I did and call groupon customer support and take it up with them. When Phil walked away this nice couple sitting across from me came over to my table and said “That was so disrespectful of him”, and I really need to report him. I have never had to report anyone, but I am elderly and I just think about how many times has this guy been rude and gotten away with it. So I hope something comes out of this complaint so he doesn’t do this again.

Mays Landing NJ location. Love the food! Can you please have the hosts/hostesses distribute menus as they are seating customers? Waiting for the wait staff to come and bring menus is inefficient. Just hand out the menus up front.

Well here we go. I’m going to add to the bad new for Famous Dave’s. It takes a whole lot for me to bother taking the time to write a complaint about a restaurant. As a matter of fact I don’t think I ever have. That tells you how bad Famous Dave’s is. I will say this tho, not all locations are as bad as the Gainesville Virginia location. I have been in there almost once a week since last August (2016). I’ve finally decided never to step foot in there again. Of all the restaurants I go to, none come close to the awful surface and blatant stupidity found in there. I eat out every day so I know a lot of restaurants, this one gets the trophy without a close second. Their terrible service and waiter – waitress stupidity is more consistent than the rising of the sun. I’ll walk in and stand there and stand there and stand there waiting for someone to greet me and seat me. Here’s where the stupidity comes in. The workers at the carry out counter think i’m there to dine in. The workers at the dine in counter think I’m there for carry out. So everybody walks by me with out even acknowledging me. Not a word. How stupid is that. I can stand there for over 5 minutes, someone else will come in and the workers will look right past me, greet the new comers and seat them. I’m still standing there. These people are dumb, dumb, dumb. Tonight after I finally got seated the stupid waiter started taking orders from tables that were seated after me. They weren’t even in the restaurant when I got seated. How stupid can a waiter be. I also noticed a couple who sat there for at least 45 minutes and still hadn’t gotten there food. The same stupid waiter must have made a mistake and not submitted their order. By the time I left they still had not gotten there food. The waiter gave them a small bowl of chips to help them pass the time. This is constant at this location. I should know because I’ve been there so many times thinking things will change. They didn’t, but I did. I will now go across the way to the other restaurant.

I had a rude waitress at the famous daves in rockford il. friday the 7th of july. the nite manager didn’t fix it the store manager sent some coupons for food i don’t eat and the cheapest in store food.
this store ran better when Jason ran it a few years ago.
I see by the other post’s that all your stores are run the same way which explains when i go by your restaurants parking lot it is never full even on a Friday nite, or i never see the same waitstaff or managers.
the problem is within the Main office.

I came to the restaurant at Cascades Station, Portland, Oregon today at 3:30 p.m. I came with two other individuals. At the end of the dinner, the individual paying the bill made a comment to the server of how he did not enjoy his meal because it was too cold where he was sitting. The server said that she would have the manger come over to the table. We saw a manager walk by and the gentlemen called him to the table. His name was “John.” When he share with John his unpleasant experience of dining and being to cold to enjoy his food ( he did so in a very pleasant soft tone) John the manager began picking up the emply plates at our table and said that he could turn off the conditioner. Then he said in a very rude tone, “What else do you want me to do.” I believe that as a manger, it was a very unpleasant response to a customer who just spent over $50 at the table and had others sitting there as well. Business is by word of mouth and I believe that as a manger myself, John should have responded in a more pleasant and accomodating tone. We were not asking for anything, we just need to make the comment about the challenge in the atmosphere. Businesses strive by word of mouth and when a customer is pleased it spreads pleasantly. Thank you for you prompt attention to this incident.

It looks like to me that even the corporate people don’t even care I wonder what kind of a business they even run when they can’t even get back to people on their complaints I think it is pretty bad

I placed an online order for the “Feast” for pickup. Within five minutes of placing the order, I learned that two guests cancelled so I called the local Irvine store to change my order to a “Feast for Two”. The Irvine location cancelled the food order but was not able to give me a credit card for the cancelled order. I have been trying to resolve this issue for two weeks now, including speaking to the store manager and his boss. I also sent a email to customer service with no response.
This is terrible customer service.

COMPLAINT, COMPLAINT. I went in to Famous Dave’ s in Kennewick, WA on Friday February 10 and filled out a job application, was told by the manager to come back on Sunday February 12 for a job interview at 10:30 I was there at 10:15 tried to get inside was not able to get inside, I tried again at 10:30 to get inside but again the doors were locked. The manager did not tell me how I was to come in for my job interview. I came home called the manager and asked when I was suppose to have my job interview he said it was at 10:30 today. Did not offer to interview me again. Did not ask why I did not show up. I found him to be rude as all he did was hang up on me. I was wondering if that is normal procedure on how the company treats prospective employees? I will not be going back to that restaurant again and will tell people I know not to do so as well and not to seek out employment there as they treat them unfairly. I am a person who is always prompt. I should not have been treated so rudely as I was there on time and the door should have been opened or someone should have came out to see if I was there. Since the manager was expecting me to be there for the interview.
Was there something I could have done different to let him know I was on time? What should a person do in a case like this when you are scheduled for an interview but can’t get in to have your interview.
Thank you for your time, I am looking forward to hearing back from you about this issue. Please respond to my email.
Thanks,
Emily Trumbull

I went to dinner with my family in Roseville’s
Famous Dave. When dinner had arrived my potato salad had a metal bolt in it. I went to eat and noticed it. I had our waitress contact Management his name was Dave, later to find out he was the general manager. When he arrived at our table he tried to make light of the problem by offering where he though it came from (the potato machine) and said it was not unsafe what happened. I felt dismissed and I told him I am a safety inspector and this was unsafe. I am contacting you because of this guys little compassion for what had happened. He comped my meal and dismissed the whole event. I will be calling the corporate office in the morning. Thanks in advance.
