Erbert and Gerbert's Sandwich Shop Executives

CEO: Eric Wolfe
CFO:
COO:

Kevin and Beth Schippers opened their first restaurant in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, in 1988. The store name and sandwich names come from characters that Kevin’s father made up when he told him stories.

Kevin’s big desire wasn’t in sandwich making, so the couple sold the franchise business in 2003 to a group of investors. The original sandwich location on Water Street is still owned by Kevin and Beth.

In January 2020, the company announced that it was creating a plant-based sandwich that would be available for a limited time only.

Due to the coronavirus crisis and subsequent quarantine of 2020, the company began offering free delivery service with a $10 minimum order as of March 19, 2020, for a limited time.

In January 2023, the company opened a new location in Minnesota and announced plans for 7 more locations in the state later in the year.

The company continues to maintain its corporate office in Eau Clare, Wisconsin.

I stopped in at Erbert and Gerberts today and was shocked to find out that there is no longer a pbj sandwich on the menu. I used to get this all the time. Please please bring it back – it was so good !

Never had a bad experience in Duluth. My orders have arrived as requested, on time or super quickly every time.

Hoping the people’s experiences in other areas (except the mask related ones) were flukes. E&G’s is THE go-to around here, especially late night and doesn’t disappoint.

Ordered a Colossus Box on July 5th to be picked up July 6th at 2:30 pm at the 941 Waube Ln in Green Bay, WI location. Never ordered nor ate here before. Received a voicemail from E & G (female) at 9:47 am on July 6th telling me that don’t have any chicken to make the Eruptor and asked what replacement I would like. I called back and spoke to a gentlemen and asked if I could change it to the Beacon and he said no they don’t put any hot sandwiches in these. I said okay then do like turkey and ham and he said fine. So then I went there for 2:30pm and the two girls were in the back when I walked in and they come up to the counter and were like how can I help you. I am like I am here to pick up a order. They both looked at each other and stated the order wasn’t made yet. I am like what? I told them I even received a call on it. The girl with pink hair says usually the manager makes it before he leaves and he didn’t do it. Okay so blame it on someone else when you both were doing absolutely nothing when I walked in. I said can you just cancel my order and refund my card back. The girl with the pink hair rolls her eyes. The other girl refunded my card back and I left. I will never go back to this place ever again. Horrible customer service besides if that was one of my employees rolling their eyes that would be her last day. It’s unbelievable how horrible the service was and to order something way ahead of time and to receive a phone call about it and go to pick it up and nothing. What a complete joke.

I am writing on behalf of my son whom worked at Erbert and Gerbert at the Grand Forks location. Sharon is a very poor manager. She smokes pot in the back office, goes along with the gay jokes, she allows another employee who is a minor to overtime. The manager Sharon’s mouth and drug use is not good for any employee in that facility and needs to be terminated!!! She lets her employees run their mouths to customers and she has an employee that constantly talks about sex to minor employees. My fiancee called the corporate office in Wisconsin and we need a phone call back.

I Have tried to order from 2 different Erberts and Gerberts, one located in Eau Claire and the other located by lake Hallie, and every time I order the food I’m always getting told afterwards there’s never a delivery driver after I placed my order and have to wait days for my refund. The third location that actually delivers tells me they have a contract not to pass their zone with the Water St location. At work, we all get together to want to Order from the Melby location and I’ve been stuck putting it all on my card and wait to be told no one get food because of no driver. I GIVE UP EVEN TRYING ANYMORE AND IT’S RUDE TO OFFER DELIVERY WHEN YOU CANNOT!

I have been very, very disappointed with the change made to the Wasabi sauce for the Quatro. It is now to think and the taste is different. You had a good thing going and ruined it with the new “sauce”. Please change it back.

I ordered from your De Pere, WI location. My son has a gag response to cheese so we ordered his sub without cheese. Our order arrived quickly but not only did my son’s sub have cheese but one of the chips was wrong and the “contactless” delivery was a man waiting outside my door until I answered it and he handed my food to me. At least he had a mask on. My son couldn’t eat his sub and I’m not able to drive due to a surgery otherwise I would have brought it back. This ruined what was supposed to be a special birthday lunch. So disappointed.

Ordered delivery from the Chippewa Falls/Lake Hallie location in WI. Driver arrived maskless and actually handed the bag to my school age children who were playing in the driveway. Unacceptable on multiple levels. 1) no mask. 2) handed the bag directly to my children 3) aside from the contact alone, if I wouldn’t have heard the exchange through the window, my kids probably would have set the bag down and kept playing, and we would not even have known our food had arrived. When I called the actual store to voice my concerns, there was no manager on duty and the associate I talked to just basically thanked me for my feedback and told me to have a good night. Again, unacceptable. Needless to say, I will not be ordering from this location again

Sat 8/22 at 4 pm…went to Winona MN store and the owner proceeded to ream my family out for making a request to heat meat in the oven for a medical need. He was rude to my family, his employees and manager. Never going back to this store again!! Sad day as we frequented this store in the past whenever we visited our daughter at college. Never have had the displeasure of working with the owner. Never again either. This store needs corporate’s help desperately!

The owner of the Winona Minnesota Erbert and Gerberts, I believe his name is Nate, was screaming and swearing at his female manager for making a mistake. I know he constantly is raising his voice and verbally mistreating his employees daily as well, will someone please do something about this? I think his employees are too afraid to speak up and lose their job.

I stopped in today to erberts and gerberts at 2371 7th Ave, anoka mn today, 3 girls were working, 2 had gloves on, I asked “don’t you wear masks” she said ” we have this shield in front of us, I said well, you have direct contact with our food, I should if just walked out.she said her manager said they don’t have too. Guess I won’t be going back there until it’s required to wear masks. One of them ran out and hugged 2 girls that came in unmasked. I intend to put this on Facebook as that is a dangerous situation. I had a mask on

We recently went to our local e/g on grand Ave in Duluth. We have a grandson with celiac and loves your sandwiches and we’re told you no longer have gluten free bread. It makes us very sad because his twin sister does not have celiac and can have whatever she wants and there are very few places he can eat so going to your store was always a treat for him which if it was up to he would go get a sandwich more than once a week. Can’t you bring back the gluten free bread?
