Waste Management Corporate Office

Waste Management was founded in 1968 by Wayne Huizenga, Dean Buntrock, and Larry Beck. The founders immediately began acquiring smaller garbage collection companies throughout the United States.

By 1972 the company had acquired 133 smaller companies and had $82 million in revenue.

In 1993 Waste Management, Inc. became WMX Technologies, Inc. This change reflected the company’s diversification to services other than waste removal, recycling, and disposal.

In 1998 the company merged with USA Waste Services, with the new company retaining the Waste Management brand.

Today Waste Management’s network includes 367 collection operations, 255 transfer stations, 273 active landfill disposal sites, 16 waste-to-energy sites, 134 recycling plants, 111 beneficial-use landfill gas projects, and 6 independent power production plants.

The company offers its services to 27 million industrial, commercial, municipal, and residential customers in the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico.

Eaton Corporate Office

In 1923, Eaton bought the company back from Republic, changing the name to Eaton Axle and Spring Company.

The company began to expand through acquisitions and began to diversify its business.

Today Eaton has diversified operations, including electrical products, systems and services for power transmission, distribution, and control, lighting products, wiring products, hydraulics for industrial and mobile equipment, pnuematic systems for commercial and military use, and powertrain systems.

KBR Corporate Office

KBR is a construction, engineering, and procurement company which was formerly a subsidiary of Halliburton.

Morris Woodruff Kellogg founded M. W. Kellogg Company in 1901 in New York City. The company’s main business was power plant construction and manufacturing of power plant components.

The company expanded throughout the decades, using new technologies developed through research and development to better and expand its work with refineries.

In 1987 Kellogg was acquired by Dresser Industries. Halliburton acquired Dresser a few years later and combined it with Brown & Root to create a new subsidiary – KBR (Kellogg Brown & Root).

KBR was spun-off from Halliburton in 2007 and began trading on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol KBR.

Today KBR is an engineering and construction company which works with hydrocarbon, energy, minerals, civil infrastructure, power, and industrial markets. The company increasingly focuses on the oil and gas industry.

Farmer’s Union Central Exchange was founded in St Paul, Minnesota in 1931. The cooperative later became Cenex.

In 1998 Cenex merged with Harvest States Cooperatives to form Cenex Harvest States.
