Ate at Dickies Barbecue Pit in North Branch Minnesota while passing through. Can’t believe I stopped here on my trip. Tables were crumby and sticky. Decided to eat in and while I was eating my brisket I saw cockroaches scurrying around. My food instantly turned into a flavorless lump in my mouth. I couldn’t swallow. To make matters worse, my mac and cheese was room temperature. My buddy and I decided it wasn’t worth it and just left. 100% don’t recommend!

Just got cussed at and yelled at by the so called manager at the Mabank texas location in front of a store full of Customers. I’ve called for four days asking if I need to reserve a large Mac and cheese and apple cobbler for my family Thanksgiving and was repeatedly told no just go to the drive thru . I even called at 3:30 today and they said the same thing , well I got off work at 5 and headed straight there lol at the window they told me they only had one left and cut it opened in front of me and dumped it in a bin , so disappointed then the so called manager came to the window and started screaming at me and told me I should have fucking reserved them and slammed the glass In my face …. I live in a very small town and I am going to make sure this isn’t swept under the rug . Shame on you Dickies .

My wife and I have been going to Dickey’s for years and food has always been great. We has not been to the Colorado Springs location off of Austin Bluffs because of covid for awhile. We are so excited to get some great food as usual. I ordered my food to go and did not check it because we hadn’t had any issues in the past. When I got home my wife and I were very disappointed. The chicken was all shredded and hard and the ribs were burnt and chewing. This was awful and was not acceptable. I took the food back to the store and the young staff there had a huge attitude and were whispering and looking over at me. The one kid taller came over with the food and gave attitude and was like it this good enough for you? He then continued with the attitude and said we cannot take that food back so get rid of it. Very condescending voice and the walked off. Seriously? You pay a lot of money for your food and the customer service and food are horrible. This is ridiculous as these young kids are getting paid a hire wage but have no respect for anything. Very disappointed in this experience and really not sure what to thing of your business anymore.

Are all Dickey’s suppose to have the same menus and items in their stores? And are they all held to the same cleanliness? Because if so I have some pictures I would like to email you.

Two times I’ve ordered Dickey’s on line for curbside and it didn’t happen at the Mabank Dickey’s. . First time they didn’t get it and this last time on July 21st 2020 I pull up and was told to go thru drive thru which had a line of cars. When Ai complained at window girl told me that’s not even an option at their store. No apology no nothing. As if this isn’t bad enough I call corporate to complain and they ask if someone can contact me. I said yes. On Thurs July 23rd around 5:30 pm a number calls from Grand Prairie I don’t recognize so I don’t answer but they keep calling 3 times in a row. I decide it could be important so I dial back. I say hello he says he’s from Dickey’s and who the f do I think I am? At first I laugh cause I think I’m being punked but quickly realize he’s serious. Says he’s an owner and doesn’t appreciate the email Zi sent complaining of his store. I said who is this again and who the f do you think you are? He screams I’m Guy New and I own Dickey’s Rowlett. I said I complained about online and the Mabank Dickey’s. He goes oh they gave me wrong number and hung up. I was livid! I have been calling corporate for over a week now and have not received one call back. The girl keeps changing story on who is calling and can’t give direct number. I looked up this Guy New and he owns both Mabank and Rowlett. So everyone needs to know what kind of people own these Dickey’s. I was cussed out for nothing! Is this how they handle their complaints?

I am normally not one to complain. For the events that just went down at the Dickey’s in Mabank, I have to say something. Tonight I have been door dashing to make a little extra cash. I went through the drive thru to pick up the order for the customer. A man opened the window and I said, “door dash for Ryan, please.” The man then told me, “you have to come inside.” And proceeded to slam the window shut and walk away. I sat there for a moment because I thought, perhaps he is asking or will come back. Nope. So I drove around the front of the store and parked. (There was NO ONE in the drive-thru in front of me or behind me.) I went inside and the nice young lady working at the counter asked if I would like to have the customers drinks in a bag and I said yes please and thanked her. I had no intentions of saying anything about what happened at the window, whatsoever. Everyone has bad days, so I was just brushing it off. The (I’m assuming shift leader/manager) came out with a sign and said, “Door dash from now on needs to come inside.” I said, “That’s perfectly fine, but how do we know who is open and who isn’t.?” She cut me off by shoving her hand in my face and told me I needed to lower my voice. (Sporting her disgusting lip ring and everything that appeared to be infected.) I told her, “Ma’am no one is raising their voice I was only asking how do we know who is open and who isn’t?” (Perhaps she is unaware that the world is currently experiencing a pandemic that has killed many many people.) This woman again shoved her hand in my face once more and told me I wasn’t allowed to go through the drive-thru and to come inside. She was making a scene in front of other customers who were there. I was taking the food and attempted to tell her that the man at the window slammed it in my face and didn’t even give me a chance to ask a question and she told me I needed to “stop talking and keep walking” and made a hand gesture shooing me out the door.
I never said anything to her and she came out guns-a-blazing and was very very rude. This deeply concerned me, not only because of the poor customer service and attitude, but this virus is very real. I have done my best to social distance to the best of my ability in order to keep myself and others around me safe. This store forced me to come inside at which no one was wearing any form of PPE. None. These organizations are supposed to be accommodating and respectful to people’s wishes to continue social distancing as has been advised and suggested by the CDC. She put me in a position to choose between making this extra money to help my elderly mother during these difficult times and my health. I think this needs to be addressed seriously! This entire exchange was completely unnecessary, un-called for, unprofessional, unwarranted and unprecedented.
No person deserves to be treated the way I was just treated at all. This would explain why every time I drive by this restaurant why the parking lot is always empty pre-pandemic state. I have never eaten at this Dickey’s and now never intend to. The customer was also notified of the horrific treatment handed out along with their order and they will no longer be ordering from this store, as well. They were horrified that I was treated this way as should Dickey’s corporate be. I do genuinely hope that the representatives in the administration for Dickey’s reads this and does something about it. No one should be FORCED to come inside or treated like trash for no reason. Bodacious it is from now on.

We have a Dickys in Farmington,NM. The owner is the best. His staff is also very good. The food is very good. There is not one bad thing I have to complain about. He is very involved in our community. The first time I went in the restaurant I overheard the owner going over an order for a funeral service with a customer. She was very distraught and trying to be conservative with what she could spend. The owner paused a bit then said “I would like to give you this”. I went in another time and ordered a brisket sandwich. The meat had some fat in it , so I asked if the server would trim the fat off and he said sure. This is the kind of store we have in Farmington, NM.
Then I came to Calimesa, CA. and told my family about Dickey’s. This was a bad mistake. It was the worst experience I’ve ever had with anything. The owners were the rudest people I’ve ever met. The whole experience was a nightmare. My family spent way over $100.00. The owners insinuated they didn’t care if we came back at all. They are new owners and at this rate will not make it work. There are too many other places to eat and be treated with courtesy. This sure is a bad example of Dickeys. I would advise anyone not to go to the one located in Yucaipa, CA on the intersection of Oak Glen Rd and Yucaipa Blvd. Too bad.

I ordered thru GrubHub, which is amazing however Dickeys was a complete let down . Location in Garland Tx on Buckingham was totally a let down. they could not get my order correct after 2 tries in the same evening. I was not upset with the driver . bless his heart. I blame the locations Manager for not staffing the location properly and not training the staff. how cruel to leave totally unprepared staff to deal with customers . the were 2 people in the location . They could not possibly handle delivering correct orders. i called and the guy on the phone told i could pick up my order, because there were 2 people and meat cutter and a cashier. I asked why are you even taking orders for delivery when this is case. i felt bad for the driver ,especially after 2 tries. he was embarrassed and very kind but clueless. i have dined a couple of times and the employees are rude and dont seem like they care if you are there are not. the food is great but staff is shameful. i will not be ordering from Dickey’s dine in or delivery again. i also suggested to Grub Hub to remove Dickey’s from their suggestion list. I totally blame management and not staff.

(Daytona Beach, Florida store) I WAS a frequent customer of Dickeys BBQ until today, due to rude customer service. This was a GrubHub order. Grubhub is amazing, your staff member however was not. I ordered 2 pulled pork sliders and only received one. The pork was rubbery and cold to touch. I ordered a big yellow cup of Sprite, only to a receive flavorless/ non carbonated drink. Your employee stated “the Sprite is carbonated, I’m looking at it”. Also, she stated that I should contact GrubHub and have them come back. I then called back because I am working in the next city over and that’s why we use the delivery service and that I was willing to pick up my slider and new drink. She said “ok” and hung up. She did not show any empathy and her lack of customer service was appalling. Also, I have pictures if you need to verify this. I apologize I do not have a name to provide you with, she neglected to tell me her name. When I called back a third and fourth time, they did not pick up and I was sent to voicemail.
Thank you.

I am very disappointed in the catering job we rec’d at your Richland, MS location. We tried it twice for two different events and both times had problems. When I spoke with the manager after the second event, she stated she would refund my money. This did not happen. She hasn’t responded back to me either. Our guys had to wait an hour for food that was cold and not all of the guys got all of the items we paid for. I will never use this location again. It is horrible that I spent over $200 for a nice meal for our plant employees and they had such an awful experience. The manager at this location doesn’t care about the customers.

Peachtree City, Ga. store –
We went in at 8:30 on a Saturday night and stood there for 7 or 8 minutes without seeing anyone. After calling out for several minutes I heard someone in the back washing dishes and noticed a young worker sitting on a bucket looking at his phone. I yelled as loud as I could to finally get someone’s attention. Apparently whatever the workers were doing was more important than customers. Ownership has no regard for customers. I will never return.

I had two terrible experiences. I manage a department of 10. The first catering order received a couple of months ago was terrible. From Glenview, WI store. I called 1/2 hour after it was supposed to be delivered and they didn’t have our order prepared. I was asked if I still wanted it and I said yes. It arrived 1 1/2 hours late and they told me that they brought someone else’s order. I called to complain and talked to a DM named Ryan. He said we would get a free meal for 10. It was delivered today and is terrible AGAIN. The mac and cheese is burnt, the Cesar salad has lettuce only which is brown. No cheese or croutons. The store manager at West Milwaukee said he prepared it himself. I am so embarrassed that I have had two meals that I’ve served to my team like this. Ryan is no longer with the company and he paid for it! I tried calling the store and no one picked up. Then I got a message that said the party I’m trying to reach is not available. I wish I could attach pictures!

On July 15, 2017 my wife and I entered Dickeys in Orlando Florida the employees were no at the counter three employees came from the back. We noticed a couple of white families at tables who had been served and were having a enjoyable time. We stood about 4 to 5 feet away from the counter. Employees never greeted us never said can I take your order or anything. They just ignored us to humiliate us and discriminate against us we finally just walked out. Dickeys is in the business to make money but these Dickeys employees felt because of my race our money was of no value to Dickeys.

Our family stopped to dine-in at Dickey’s in Duarte earlier this year. It was the worst BBQ I have ever had. Complete mush and terribly overpriced for a meal that looked and tasted like someone regurgitated their food. I complained to manager, who acted like something was wrong with me for complaining, and later decided to dispute through the BBB.
The response we got back was to come and try their food again and I would not go through that experience again. We are still waiting to get our money back.

First, let me say that this is a website about Dickey’s CORPORATE, not the individual restaurants. The Franchise owners are good people who care about their business, employees, and customers. The corporate office, on the other hand doesn’t care about any of these. I purchased a franchise in December of 2016 and as of today, 10/17/17 I am still not open. The “approved” architects, vendors, and contractors must be granting HUGE kickbacks to corporate, because if not they should have fired them long ago. Most every time I call the call goes to voicemail, and half of the time the mailboxes are full. They do not return emails of calls in a timely manner, if ever. The turnover rate at the corporate office is horrendous! I am on my 3rd project manager, and have went through countless members of the “support team”. When it comes to getting their $ they are on top of it, with multiple emails and calls to make sure their invoices are paid UP FRONT! I you would like to converse more about my story (nightmare) email me at Dickeys1603@ gmail.com.

Let me start with a positive note to counter all the negative ones I had to wade through. I have been eating at Dickey’s BBQ since 1982 when I retired from the U. S. Navy and settled in Plano, TX. I have eaten hundreds of excellent meals at both your Plano and Allen sites in Texas and always enjoyed them. Your BBQ is the best. Now for the bad part. I recently stopped in York, NE at your location. We arrived at 8:40 and were very surprised at the configuration of the restaurant. We couldn’t see the meats, there were no vegetables visible and the two kids behind the counter didn’t seem to know what they were doing, but we finally for our brisket and SMALL portions of green beans and potato salad. No rolls were offered, no onions, pickles, mustard, mayonnaise, etc, just the meat and two vegetables served on a piece of paper to be eaten with cheap plastic utensils. We had no longer seated ourselves when the manager told us to hurry up, that he was closing in 10 minutes. At 9:00, he aggressively demanded that we leave so he could close. This did NOT sit very well with me and I told him in no uncertain terms that I had absolutely no intention of leaving until I had eaten the meal that we had bought, He shrugged and said, “Rules is rules”. I told him if he wanted me out of the restaurant before I had eaten, I would have to be removed by a police officer. I suggested that if he was so intent on closing at 9:00, he should stop serving food around 8:30. He grumbled some more and disappeared. The brisket was dry and the service totally unsatisfactory, but this won’t stop me from eating at Dickey’s in Texas. I believe this was just my luck to stop at one of your less desirable locations, but I would feel better about the situation if the manager (his name is Jimmy) were reprimanded about the rude attitude he displayed and coming up with a better way to serve the food other than a piece of paper (like Rudy’s, where I won’t eat because they serve food that way). Anyway, see you later at the Allen location.

I have a problem and there does not appear to be a customer service line to call. I purchased a $25 Dickey’s gift card for my dad for Father’s day from Walmart on 6/6/17. I gave it to him on father’s day. He went to use it locally yesterday and the balance is $0. I found my Walmart receipt and I was charged for the card. I went to your website and entered the card information, and the transaction history says that the card had an original balance of $25 on the day it was purchased, 6/6/17. It then says it was “force redeemed” at Dickies location CA-699 on 6/8/2017. I didn’t give this to my dad until father’s day, 6/18/17. Can you please clarify this for me? Now I have spent $25 and gotten nothing for it. I very much look forward to hearing from you at your earliest convenience. Thank you.

Re: ColoSprings site at Interquest & I25. Been there 2 times prior – food was just ok, nothing spectacular. Went again this Father’s Day and had to return the brisket meal – it was loaded with fat & had no smoke profile whatsoever. It was like eating roast with a ton of fat. Owner was taken aback but kind & offered me brisket from another cut – it was no better. Then offered $4 off next visit & I stated I require a full refund. Owner agreed to a refund and left coupons but I returned them as I will not be back. It is supposed to be smoked meats that you can taste the smoke in when you eat it.
An employee seemjngly in the know later related they have been experimenting with different woods in the smoker as of late & also having challenges with meat supplier product quality.
After reading all the negative comments here I see no reason to eat at these franchises ever again.

The Stockton CA location is filthy and needs to be inspected by a health inspector. Not only did they serve us food that was returned by another customer, but there was visible mold growing in the hot sauce bottles located on the tables. The food in the metal containers looked as if it had been there all day and undoubtedly was not being kept at a proper temperature. We will never return to this location and quite frankly even the thought of eating at any of the locations makes our stomachs turn.

On Friday, 19 May 2017 at about 7:30P I went to a Dicky’s BBQ Pit in Pomona, CA and ordered a Beef Brisket and Polish sausage sandwich. I was informed the polish sausage was in the smoker and would not be ready for another 15 to 20 minutes. I paid for my order and informed the Mgr. Vincent Poteet I could not wait as I needed to run some errands and that I would be back within the hour. It was an inconvenience for me to have to leave and then come back because the food was not ready to package for me to take home and eat.
I came back within the hour and requested that the meat and the BBQ sauce would be separated from the bread because I knew I was not going to eat it right away and I did not want my bread to become soggy.
Later that evening I decided to eat my sandwich and noticed there was no BBQ sauce with my food. I had to burn my gas to drive to a nearby store to purchase BBQ sauce because a Dicky’s employee forgot to provide me with one of the most important ingredients and because the Dicky’s store was closed.
I called the next day, Saturday afternoon and spoke with a Jaden and explained to him my concerns. He took my contact information and assured me a Mgr. would contact me on Sunday. That never happened. No one followed up with me from Dicky’s.
It is the end of the business day on Monday and I called and spoke with Vincent Poteet and explained to him what happened and if he would be willing to consider a credit for my inconvenience and the burning of my gas and he got defensive by raising his tone of voice at me, he argued the point with me and basically stated there was nothing wrong with the meat, we only forgot to give you BBQ sauce therefore there’s nothing I can do for you.
This is very poor customer service especially as this was my first time ever entering or buying anything from an Dicky’s store. My wife owns a food service store (Darla’s Cake Design) in Chino Hills, CA and if she makes a mistake she compensates the customer and most of all she’s pleasant to deal with and not rude and inconsiderate as Vincent Poteet is. How did he ever become a store Mgr. when he’s not customer focused or oriented?
My cell is 909 753 XXXXX. I would hope to hear back from you soon and hopefully not with a cavalier attitude as Vincent Poteet was with me.

One of your employees at your twin falls idaho location has beard over 2 inches long. I don’t know what your policy is on facial hair over a quarter of an inch, but every restaurant should require their employees to wear a beard net with hair of that length. I love the food and would like to continue to eat at your restaurant, but I will walk out next time if this issue hasn’t been resolved.

The Dickey’s in Kaufman at 100 Kings Fort Parkway is a big disappointment. I went into the establishment along with a friend for lunch one day. I bought their lunch also. We were very disappointed by the selections since there are NO plates offered only various items. That was NOT pleasing to us but we went ahead and ordered our food as we were there already and we wanted to try it. We ordered and we were disappointed there. We got out food and what we paid for it did not reflect what we paid for. It was very skimpy and we basically spent twice the amount for the food and got little and even left a little bit hungry. We spent enough that we could have gone to another BBQ establishment down the road and get twice the food with more than enough for one meal so that we could have taken it home for what the amount we paid you for. Need I say that we WILL NOT go back to your store in Kaufman and you need to fix it and do a better job or your time being open in Kaufman will be short lived.

Yes my name is Ashley Owens former dickey’s employee,
I have been recently working for dickeys bbq pit in Washington Utah, before store closed and was severely injured on the job. A light bulb for a heat lamp purchased from petco for a “lizard” instead of a real heat lamp bulb was flickering above the meat block. So when I went to twist in the bulb that bulb then exploded cutting through a tendon in my right thumb which resulted in me having to have surgery and taking a week off from work.
I at the time didn’t realize workman’s comp. I’ve never been injured on a job this bad before so I’ve never had to do workman’s comp. Is there anyway I can still process comp through, because it was the store owner and manger’s fault in the first place. Now I owe thousands of dollars worth of doctor bills I can’t afford due to terrible management and ownership at a very bad dickey’s location. If I could get any response at all regarding this it would be more then appreciated….
Thank you for your time
Sincerly,
Ashley Owens

I’m sure this is a local owner problem but wanted to make corporate aware of the situation. During Christmas my wife purchases gift cards for local eateries from Costco and Sam’s Club. We give these away as thank you to people we work with
during the year. This year we bought some Dickeys just to check out your restaurant before we give out the cards.. So here is the problem – We have $200.00 of your gift cards and can’t use them in Ventura CA as it appears the the local store refuses to accept them. We tried to use the gift cards 2-7-2017 and were told that they could not accept card because there server was down. Was also told the system was down for the last two weeks. But we know for a fact that the local store has not accepted gift cards since at least mid December. NOT GOOD. Not accepting a corporate sold gift card is bad enough, but lying to new customers is unacceptable. NOT A GOOD BUSINESS MODEL. As there is no other Dickeys in the area it looks like we’ll have to attempt to return the cards to Costco for a refund. Just thought you all might like to know.

I recently purchased a package of Dickey’s polish sausage. I bit into it and a piece of bone was in it. I have the piece of bone if you would like to examine it. I have bought these before and have never had this to happen.

The same thing happened to me yesterday Sande and it has been a real pain trying to reach corporate or someone that will help as I damaged at least 2 teeth. The manager of the store wants me to pay and stated that Corp will reimburse but will not give me additional information. Did you get help?

I recently (1/15/17) took my family of 6 to your Stockton location off Pacific ave.
I was very disappointed, We have visited your restaurant in many locations and have had a good experience in the past.
Stockton is our home town, and I will tell you that Dickey’s is off our list of places to eat. The young man (white) behind the counter had very poor people skills and the menu has changed. He told us No Mac & cheese, no Chicken, most of the sides foods were out,
my son ordered your “Street Tacos” the corn tortillas were hard as a rock he could not chew them. the BBQ sauce’s were not in the help yourself area, you had to get back in line and ask for the sauce’s. the ribs that I ordered were cold and had very little meat on them. The soft serve machine was out of order and the “Famous Dickey’s Tea” has been replaced with a run of the mill tea I can get anywhere. if this is your “New Standard” you will not last long at this location. $75.00 spent on a bad experience dinning out with my family. I don’t eat pizza, yet calling in a order would have been more satisfying for my kids. I can always make myself a sandwich. I will not be taking my family back to Dickey’s, or my staff for that matter. I’m always looking for quality catering Dickey’s will not be on this list. It used to be a good place to eat, not anymore.

I am so frustrated with how my situation has been handled by Dickey’s. I placed an order on 10/11/16 through your catering service. (#1189109). My order for Christmas Eve. Luckily, I saw an article on facebook about our local Dickey’s closing which is where the catering group assigned my order. I reached out to the catering contact (Michelle Mattews) on 11/8. After multiple emails, I was basically told to make different arrangements for my Christmas party. I was also told that eventually I would get paid back my $312.38, but no saying when because this stuff takes time. It is now 2017 and I’m still waiting for that check. I placed my order with Dickey’s catering. They gave my order to the Green Bay Store. I feel that Dickey’s should pay me immediately and make the situation right. I’m a manager of a customer service department and we go above and beyond to make sure a customer is satisfied. I would never allow one of our customers to be jerked around the way I have been. I know that I’ve told Michelle that I would go to our local news station. I haven’t done it yet, because I don’t want to trash Dickey’s over something that just may not have gotten to the right people. Please help rectify this situation.

Tonite I went to Dickey’s @ 1428 W Meeker St Ste 102, Kent, WA 98032 to get $2 chicken sliders that I received an email about. I always get a sandwich (brisket) when I go in and ask for extra onion. The color picture in the $2 chicken slider email shows pickles, onions…..what a normal dickey’s sammie looks like. I get home and and open the box and there sits 4 sliders just chicken on bun. Nothing else.. chicken/bun. So disappointed. I had to rifle thru my fridge to find something to put on these things. They were dry and basically not worth the $2.00 I paid for 4 of them. I’m glad I got the 2 corn bread (though awful small @ 2.50 for 2) bad experience. Would like some kind of comp for this.

I wanted to share my experience at Dickey’s. Today December 7, 2016 we went to the Dickey’s in Yucca Valley, California. After finishing our lunch we wanted our, “Ice Cream” cone. The employee told us they didn’t offer It at this location. What a disappointment!! No managers name Or receipt number on our receipt, just a phone number 760 205 1310. So disappointing ?
