BuzzFeed Corporate Office

In 2006, while working at the Huffington Post, current CEO and founder Joshua Peretti started BuzzFeed (originally called BuzzFeed Laboratories) as a side project. The company had no writers, only an algorithm that took popular stories and feeds from the internet and republished them.

Today, Buzzfeed is an American internet media, news, and entertainment company.

Originally, content included quizzes and listicles but has since evolved into a global media and technology company that offers coverage on a wide range of subjects including DIY, business, animals, and opinion pieces.

While Buzzfeed tends to be left-leaning, its entrance into serious journalism, a 2014 survey found that in the United States, BuzzFeed was viewed as an unreliable source by the majority of respondents, regardless of age or political affiliation.

In November 2020, Buzzfeed acquired The Huffington Post in a stock merger.

In March 2021, Buzzfeed announced that it would be making deep cuts in staffing at the Huffington Post.

Buzzfeed maintains a corporate office in New York, New York.

Plaid Pantry was founded around 1960 by John Piacentini. The company operates a chain of gas stations and convenience stores in the greater Northwestern United States.

Today there are 108 locations, with one in Seattle, Washington. eight are near Salem, Oregon, and the remainder are in the greater Portland, Oregon, metro area.

In November 2020, the Plaid Pantry and four other businesses settled with the state of Oregon regarding price gouging during the Covid 19 pandemic.

Vicks Corporate Office

In 1890, pharmacist Lunsford Richardson, took over the retail drug business of his brother-in-law, Dr. John Vick. Richardson began making “Vicks Family Remedies”, which included an ointment marketed as “Croup and Pneumonia Salve”.

This ointment would later become known to us as Vicks Vaporub as early as 1912.

The flu epidemic of 1918 increased the sales of Vaporub from $900,000 to more than $2 million in less than a year. By 1931, the company decided to expand its product line and began making cough drops.

Today, Vicks manufactures a wide range of cough and cold remedies, including Nyquil, Dayquil, Formula 44 cough syrup, and more.

Vicks was acquired by Procter and Gamble in 1985.

Vicks Vaporub has been a staple in most American households for more than a century. Some people have recently questioned if it ever truly expires after someone was found using a container that was 34 years old.

VapoRub has been known to have many uses other than what it was intended for. One woman found a clever way to deter foxes from stealing newspapers.

Vicks maintains a corporate office in South Fork, Pennsylvania.
