Hugo’s Tacos Corporate Office

Hugo’s Tacos began as Hugo’s restaurant in West Hollywood, California, in 1980. Tom Kaplan and Richard Brenner decided to open a fast-food type of taco stand that still used Hugo’s original taco recipe.

The first Hugo’s Tacos was located in Studio City, California, and it opened in 2005. There are now three locations, with one in Atwater Village, California, and Woodland Hills, California.

Chef Nabor Diaz Prado used his family recipes and re-created taste memories and traditions, fused with his experiences at, and ideas from, Hugo’s original restaurant. The tacos and other food items have an authentic Mexican flavor that is extremely popular.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the company stopped service at tables and offered only to-go orders from customers who wore masks. A few customers, angry that they were refused service due to the lack of a mask, screamed racial-slurs at employees and threw items at them. The restaurant decided that, for the safety of their employees, they would close temporarily.

Hugo’s Tacos reopened about one month later, with employees wearing new shirts stating “No Mask, No Tacos”.

Jeff David opened his first pet store, PetBarn, in 2004. Glen Richards opened Greencross Vet in the building next door. These two companies decided to merge into a one-stop shopping/veterinarian service in 2013. The name PetBarn remains.

PetBarn currently has 140 locations with Greencross Vet 130 locations. Some Greencross vets are located inside PetBarn stores.

PetBarn offers pet supplies, food, toys, grooming services, and, in some instances, veterinarian services.

Due to the coronavirus, PetBarn also began offering curbside service, where items could be ordered online and picked up at the chosen location, with employees loading the purchase right into the car. This allows for a minimal amount of human contact.

MightyKidz Corporate Office

When Kyla Liboon had to find a daycare center for her child so she could return to work, she was very disappointed in what she found. Liboon decided that she would create her own daycare center, enabling her to take care of her child at the same time.

Liboon has made it a point to try to get to know not only the children left at her centers but the parents as well.

The first location was out of Liboon’s own home in the Magnolia area of Seattle, Washington. MightyKidz now has 4 locations, employs more than 50 teachers and staff, and enroll more than 135 students/children.

The website states that the school is open even during the coronavirus quarantine and that while they aren’t conducting tours, they have put new health and safety measures in place.

Anheuser Busch Corporate Office

In 1852, German American brewer and tavern operator George Schneider opened the Bavarian Brewery in South St. Louis. Schneider expanded the brewery in 1856, but hard economic times forced Schneider to sell, and in 1860, William D’Oench, a local pharmacist, and Eberhard Anheuser, a prosperous German-born soap manufacturer, bought the brewery.

Adolphus Busch married Anheuser’s daughter and when the civil war started in 1861, Busch began working for his father-in-law at the brewery.

Busch had innovative ideas, including pasteurizing beer to keep to fresh longer, used mechanical refrigeration in order to ship beer via the railroad. Expansion of their distribution range caused a large demand for their product.

The company was renamed Anheuser -Busch in 1879. Anheuser died in 1880 and the Busch family controlled the company until it was sold to InBev in 2008.

Today, Anheuser-Busch is the largest brewing company in the world. The company employs over 30,000 people and has 12 breweries in the US alone. The company also operated 10 amusement parks and was the largest amusement park operator until 2009.
