The company has created over 5,000 toys since 1932. One of the best selling toys is the “Little People” collection, which includes a variety of workers, children, even dogs. Fisher-Price continues to expand the Little People line with Christmas figures, such as elves, and popular characters from Lord of the Rings.

The company has recently had innovations with electronic infant toys, such as a “laptop”, that can help with early computer skills.

Toymaker Mattel purchased the company in 1993. Today, many Mattel toys are labeled under the Fisher-Price name.

Fisher-Price had $1.7 billion in annual revenue in 2017 and employs more than 4,000 persons full time.

From 2012 through 2015, uShip was part of a reality show called Shipping Wars, which followed a group of independent shippers that would bid for jobs posted on uShip.

The company has developed a Shipping Price Estimator which provides estimates for transport services based on a weighted average of similar goods transported over similar distances on the uShip marketplace.

In 2011, eBay began using uShip’s price estimator for large items such as cars, trucks, motorcycles, golf carts, and engines.

In July 2016, uShip partnered with trucking giant DB Schenker to power an online trucking platform.

Due to the coronavirus, uShip was forced to lay off 65 employees in April 2020.

Sonesta International Hotels got its start when real estate mogul A.M. “Sonny” Sonnabend convinced 6 other investors to purchase the Preston Beach Hotel in Massachusetts. By 1944, the company owned 5 hotels, including the Biltmore and the Palm Beach Country Club in Florida.

Today, this international hotel chain has 200 locations in 8 countries, with the company adding 81 extended-stay hotels and 22 full-service hotels and resorts in the US, Canada, and Puerto Rico in August 2020.

Also in August 2020, the former Trump Hotel in Vancouver, Canada, now bankrupt, is expected to be rebranded as a Sonesta International property.

The company opened 65 new hotels and resorts in 2019 alone.

In July 2022, Equinox Hospitality acquired four properties in Texas from Sonesta International Hotels. Equinox Hotel Management, a subsidiary of Equinox Hospitality, will operate the properties.
