Commercial Tire was founded in Boise, Idaho, in 1968 by current owner and CEO J.R. “Bob” Schwenkfelde. The company operates a chain of tire and brake stores in Idaho, Oregon, Utah, and Washington.
The company is best known for tires, however, they also perform brake service, roadside assistance, and other diagnostic services, such as batteries and wheel alignments. The company provides tire replacement for almost every vehicle, including golf carts, high performance tires, lawn equipment, farm and agricultural tires, as well as fleet services.
Commercial Tire has headquarters in Meridian, Idaho, but the original store in Boise still operates daily. Bridgestone is the biggest selling tire, although the company offers other name brands, including Firestone, Yokohama, and Cooper tires.

We’ve been long time, MUCH SATISFIED customers of Commercial Tire. Not only have we been greatly served by your staff at the 1900 S. Cole location, but also by your Baker City, OR location when camping in the area. Recently, as we were in the process of departing Boise with our small travel trailer I made my usual stop at the S. Cole location to have the Jeep, trailer tires and bumper shock checked for appropriate pressure. It was at that time when “Jacob” discovered a nail in the right rear tire of our Jeep. So, again…an exceptional Commercial Tire employee (“Jacob”) came to our rescue. It is important that Jacob be recognized for his most alert and efficient services as well as his exceptional professional manner. Jacob’s professionalism and manner reflects the outstanding QUALITY that we associate with the Commercial Tire organization. Again, A BIG THANK YOU to Jacob and to Commercial Tire.

Took my car in to have a water pump changed. Now my engine in burned up and they do not want to call or help me figure it out. This is in Grandview.
I wish people would call and not just leave me hanging. They also cut one of my catalytic converters off thing just are not right.
Call them they know who I am

On Saturday, March 30th, I was at the Commercial store on State Street. I bought four Cooper tires for my truck. Having dealt with other Commercial Tire stores, I had no problem about doing business there. However, “Tyler”, came out of the bay and advised me that I had two problems. My rear brakes needed to be redone, and my front end was dangerously in disrepair. I already knew about the brakes and had three quotes in hand that he didn’t know about. His written quote for the brake work was $450. None of the quotes I had from other locations was over $300. I had the work done the following Monday for $255, out the door, including new rotors. But the part that I’m most concerned about was the front end work. On Monday and Tuesday I had the front end checked by three different companies. Each of them told me that there was nothing that required any work.
I don’t know what to tell you, other then the fact that I retired as a DOT law enforcement Captian in another state. I had nine investigators working for me, and this experience is not a new situation for me, although not with Commercial Tire. I will continue to do business at the Meridian store, based on previous experience at that location. But the store on State street will never see business from myself or my family members again. Figured you might like to know.
