Ball Corporation was founded in 1880 by brothers Frank C. and Edmund B. Ball as the Wooden Jacket Can Company. The company originally made tin cans encased in wood for kerosene.
The brothers soon realized that it would be more efficient to store the kerosene in glass, and in 1882 began manufacturing glass products.
In 1884 the brothers discovered that the patent for the Mason Improved fruit jar had expired, and they could begin making the fruit jars in their factory.
The company was then renamed Ball Brothers Glass Manufacturing Company.
Today Ball Corporation produces food and beverage packaging and household goods. The company also manufactures an array of aerospace systems through its Ball Aerospace & Technologies division.
Ball Corporation trades publicly on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol BLL, is a member of the S&P 500, is #307 in the Fortune 500, has 14,500 employees, and had $8.57 billion in revenue in 2013.

Hi, Years ago I bought a tall slim pint ball canning jar I found at a sale. I don’t know when you made those but I always liked the tall slim look. I still have many of the tall jelly jars but this was a tall “pint jar”. Could you bring these back? I have always collected old jars and most that I have are Ball’s. I have many of your special jars you come out with. I even have your blue set that you came out with in 1976, except the pint got broken. As a 70 yr old life long canner I have appreciated Ball Corporation all these years. Thank You and please bring back that tall slim pint jar.

I purchased Ball’s Jam and Jelly Maker. This unit has a burned plastic smell to it and the jam we made tasted like burnt plastic. We tried washing the unit and setting it out in the sun. Smell did not go away. This unit is defective. We are not interested in making poison food. What is more defective is Ball’s version of customer service. Highly dysfunctional. It has taken many phone calls to get a return label and then we discovered that the label can’t be opened on a home computer nor can FedEx read the label either.
We are both disappointed and very fed up!! Defective product and crappy customer service.

I AM CONCERNED THAT WHAT I WAS TOLD WHEN I WAS HIRED BY BALL–AS WELL WHEN I RETIRED THAT I WOULD RECEIVE A DEATH BENEFIT OF EQUAL TO $100
FOR EACH MONTH OF MY EMPLOYMENT. IN MY CASE THIS WOULD AMOUNT TO $11.700. I WAS ASKED TO PROVIDE WHO WOULD BE THE BENEFICIARY. I SUBMITTED THE NAME OF MY DAUGHTER ,PARIS HECKMAN. I HAVE CHECKED WITH H.R. SEVERAL TIMES IN THE SUBSEQUENT PERIOD SINCE I RETIRED THAT THE DEATH PAYMENT WAS STILL IN GOOD SHAPE. I WAS ALWAYS TOLD THAT IT WAS . THIS MORNING WHEN I TALKED TO THE BALL BENEFITS DEPARTMENT THEY DENIED ANY–REPEAT ANY– KNOWLEDGE OF SUCH A PAYMENT. SOME THING IS ABSOLUTELY INCORRECT IN THE “NO KNOWLEDGE ANSWER I
RECEIVED THIS MORNING —HELP—HELP–SOMETHING IS SERIOUSLY WRONG.

after years canning ball decided to change their lids.. they say they will stay sealed 18 months and that is suppose to be a big deal.. however.. anyone I know have had the previous lids stay sealed YEARS.. so I am worried they are no longer good for any more than 18 months.. there are also MANY (more than many) people who are UNHAPPY with the new lids.. they don’t seal properly..and now we are all out there looking for old stock.. we weren’t as scared of the BPA they supposedly removed as we are of them not sealing or staying sealed..

I have a form from a box of canning rings and seals to order a Blue Ball Canning Book for a friend of mine that is just starting to learn to can. What address do I mail it to because the address on the box was apparently not right, it came back undeliverable. Thanks. Leanna Thomas
