Tommy Bahama was founded in 1993 by Tony Margolis, Bob Emfield, and their wives. They imagined a brand name that brought to mind images of warm days on the beach and a relaxed lifestyle at night.
The company is a manufacturer of men and women’s clothing, sunglasses, hats, active wear, footwear, swimwear, and a line of home furniture. There are more than 160 corporate owned stores around the world. The company’s products are also sold in most upscale stores such as Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s, as well as at beach resorts and hotels around the world.
Tommy Bahama was purchased by Oxford Industries, Inc., in 2003 and operates as a subsidiary. The company recently launched its own brand of rum in 2007. There are currently two varieites; White Sand, which is a light rum, and Golden Sun, which is a dark rum. Both flavors have won awards in the San Francisco World Rum Flavor Competition in 2010.
Tommy Bahama maintains a corporate office in Seattle, Washington.

Mr. Wood,
I bought a new BMW at 10 a.m. yesterday. When it came time to turn on the headlights, I had to contact GE for instruction on how to use their lights. Seems BMW hadn’t bothered to assign someone to include that information in its owners manual.
Stupid, I know. No major company would do that.
Except Tommy Bahama does.
I just received my new Tommy watch. Beautiful, sporty, big enough to use without glasses. And two extra buttons and three dials and three mysterious hands.
And no instruction booklet on how to use or set anything.
Tommy’s website instructs me to contact a third party — centrictimepieces — for information on use of a Tommy watch.
Stupid, I know. No major company should do that.
What’s happened to you guys? You sold great shirts. I know. I’ve got at least a dozen tees and button downs. And a jacket everyone loves. So why did you venture out to watches you really don’t give a damn about?
Call a third party to operate a Tommy Bahama product with a Tommy Bahama name on it?
Shame on you.

This year I began buying clothes at your stores I spend over one thousand dollars on several trips. This week had to return a women’s bathing suit worn 4 times yet the wires were coming out. I came into Pasadena store and showed the suit to the female sales clerk on Monday this week. First told her it was two months old her first response was it was worn and she could do nothing after I discussed with her a 165.00 swim suit for two month use about 4 times is not right. She showed no concern just cautioned me 4 times to hand wash it and finally ordered me a replacement All my other visits when purchasing have been great with great service and super staff. Hopefully it’s not only when you buy something but when you have a problem you get great service. I never got a I am sorry we will make it good etc. only I will do it this time only. Please pull my my account and call me to discuss as I like the clothes you sell but need to know you stand behind them we both know they are higher priced than others but love the product and quality.
Thanks. George Lang

Dear Mr. Wood,
We are a window cleaning service provider by contract through TrueSource Janitorial, AKA Metro Service Solutions. I am advising you that we have not received payment from that company for window cleaning services provided (some invoices are from 2018) due to their improper billing and accounting procedures.
We started the dispute regarding accounts that include a Tommy Bahama location on St. Armand’s Key, Sarasota, FL. in March 2019. We have provided account documentation (multiple times) to Metro and complained directly to Mr. Tom Cox, the new CEO of TrueSource/Metro, to no avail.
If they are billing your company for services, and asking for payment from your company for the accounts we service, be advised we ceased to do the work on your Tommy Bahama location in May 2019. I advise you to not pay for further services as we have refused to provide those services until the dispute is recognized and settled.
I encourage you to contact Metro directly to discuss their poor business practices with contract service providers. I believe you would not be remiss to discontinue your contract with Metro/TrueSource completely.
Sincerely,
Jeanette Watling-Mills – Owner

I wanted to extended my great appreciation and what I had experienced exceptional customer service from Robert who manages the Tommy Bahama Store in Las Vegas (Forum Shops). I had purchase a pair of your Kaki Navy Blue pants two weeks before my business trip to Vegas. I had only wore these pants once, washed them and wore them again in Vegas. I notice there was a very faint light blue crease in both legs of these pants. I couldn’t understand where they came from. I do not iron my pants with a crease. On Thursday, February 7, 2019 I just happen to be wearing these pants when I wondered into the Las Vegas Tommy Bahama store. I was looking around the store to see if they carried these particular pants. Robert the manager, approached me and asked if I needed any help. I then, started to explain to him what had happen to my pants that I was wearing. Robert without hesitation proceeded to find me the exact same pair. He actually took his customer service to the highest level possible and exchanged the pants for me without question. He even asked the girl that was working with him to steam the pants before we made the final exchanged. I told him my whole wardrobe is Tommy Bahama. I even told him where I had purchased the pants at the Towson Store in Maryland where I live. Robert was not at all concerned, he didn’t even look my information up to verify my purchased. I literally walked out of that store with a brand new pair of pants, freshly steam and looking as professional as Robert was when he gave me by far the BEST customer service I have ever had anywhere. I wanted to let Corporate know how impressed I was to be on the receiving end of this incredible customer service. Please make sure you recognized Robert and his amazing customer service. This is why I will always be a Tommy Bahama customer.

Mr Wood, just wanted to let you know you lost a customer for life. Long story short, went to retail store in Scottsdale after having dinner at your restaurant. Purchased 4 shirt for $658. Female clerk “inadvertenly” failed to enter $50 promotional card. This is not the first time this has happened. Had to call after I got home at which time she reluctantly credited cc. Figured if they were ripping me off they’re obviously ripping other people off and I will not be doing business with companies that seem to condone this practice. Therefore I returned the shirts and spoke to a female who claimed she was a manager… she could not have cared less. Simply unbelievable. I will not be purchasing a TB product again and will be giving my 50 plus shirts to the homeless. Ill send you some pictures after I send to other media outlets

To whom it may concern,
I had the opportunity to work for TB Holiday Season 2017 and again in 2018 at your Queenstown, MD Store.
The leadership team Chris, Gretchen & Jennifer are by far the best of the best. All three genuinely care about their guests, their store and more importantly their staff.
Under Chris’s leadership the store has transformed from average to exceptional over a brief amount of time. He truly cares about his team and often puts his associates in front of himself by covering holidays, ensuring everyone has weekend time with family and even something as small as a quick break. Chris makes coming to work fun.
Gretchen & Jennifer are both kind hearted individuals who also care about the team but also know how to drive sales results and push the team to work harder, more efficiently and with care for our guests. They both are passionate about people and Tommy Bahama.
I truly hope someone in upper management receives and acknowledges the Queenstown store for being all around amazing. I can’t wait for Holiday Season 2019! Waitman V.

Hello I am a travel agent but also a snowbird. I have a suggestion for your company I have been looking at people over 60 going on the beaches and I asked a few questions everyone loves your backpack chairs but as we get older we have more trouble getting up if the chair was 6 inches higher and no need for the metal piece in the back you would have a whole bunch of snowbirds who would enjoy your product. Something to think about you you make them I will be the first to buy. Have a great day

HELP! My husband is a big 6’4″ guy and loves the fact that you have a Big and Tall selection of men’s clothing. He wears a size 2xl TALL polo and owns many polos and Camp Shirts. The last shirt came the size of a mans ‘large’ size. Thinking there was some sizing or labeling mistake, I called to exchange. To my surprise, SOMEONE at the company decided to change the sizing. I reordered in a 3xl TALL,, and ‘guess what’, it still is too small.. ( 3xl tall is the maximum size you carry).
The PROBLEM here is, Your Sizes don’t even compare to the size of other High-End shirts. My husband, who is 6′ 4″, looks so nice in his Tommy Bahamas and He is so proud to look like the ‘other guys’. My question is….”WHO got the Brain Storm to change the sizes and WHY? Please go back to the way things were. Thanks, Liz ??

I am a Tommy Bahama freak All I wear is Tommy Bahama apparel. I have 59 shirts, 6 watches, 7 pair of pants, cologne, after shave, 2 bracelets and god knows what else.
I am wearing a watch just now with a blue cloth band. The model or style might be TB RLXA126 Cant honestly say when I bought it but the band started to fray a long time ago.
I went into the Tommy Bahama store in Mizner Park, Boca Raton l. today. I was not looking for anything for nothing. I asked the sales rep if I could order a new watch band.
He totally could care less. he told me that they don’t sell bands and there is nothing he could do. He said quite abrasively I should go to the flea market and maybe find something. I know what a flea market is and did not need him to tell me that.
would consider myself a very good customer to say the least and wear Tommy Bahama shirts every day in life.
You need to speak to your reps in the Mizner park store as their attitude leaves much to be deserved. Been in many of your stores and always very pleasant. I buy most things on line. Even been to your restaurant in Naples several times. Love it. Got to be honest with you, the restaurant in Jupiter is not great. No ambiance at all. I was expecting much like Naples place. Food was not terrific. Quite disappointed
If you are familiar with this particular watch I would be glad to purchase the blue band
If necessary I will go to the “Flea Market” Only problem is the silver hardware on my watch has the Tommy insignia of course. Flea market item will not have this.
As I explained I want nothing for nothing and will be happy to purchase the blue band

Tommy Bahama customer service has a scam going on. DO NOT CALL them. They compromised my credit card charging over $600 to it. They said the return label was not going through the email so they would need for my card information, address and phone number to return it as a “gift” return on the card. Instead they charged over $600 to it. Then they had me just pull up the website, put in the order # and print a return label…why wouldn’t they have just done that in the first place!!
Trey Kinard says
My name is Trey Kinard and I use to be a Tommy Bahama employee at your Walt Whitman location in Huntington New York. I left the company on good terms, and only reason I left was because of school and basketball. When I tried reapplying for this summer, my old manager Rachel told me what to do and to come in and meet the new manager James. I met James about a week and a half ago and when meeting him he told me to come back for an interview. When i came back for the interview I met with Rachel. After my interview I was told I was hired. When I called back a few days after to review my hours James told me he would call me back later that week which was the week of May 8th 2017. I never received a call stating wether I was hired or not. I then proceeded to email James on May 12th asking for feedback for why I didn’t get the job, assuming by this time I didn’t have the position. I waited 5 days to see if James would reply. I never received a email giving me any type of feedback or reasoning to why I didn’t receive the job.
I believe this is more then me not being qualified for the job. I believe this is because of the color of my skin. A former employee that left around the same time as me and was reapplying and was told she was hired, told me when she contacted James to review her schedule after having a interview with Rachel, he told her that he will get back to her as well. Only difference is, he returned her call and reviewed her pay and schedule. I didn’t mind not being apart of the store, but hearing this I had no choice but to believe it was because of my skin. 1. James never called me after speaking to him on the phone and during that conversation he didn’t let me know I didn’t have the job 2. I emailed him and he still didn’t give me a answer or feedback to why I didn’t get the job. Hopefully I receive some type of feedback because I didn’t know this is how Tommy Bahama goes about hiring their staff. Thank you and hope to hear from someone soon.

I wish to express my extreme dissatisfaction with the customer service that I have experienced with Tommy Bahama. I have been a loyal TB customer since the early 90’s back with Crooks Clothing in Clarion PA. I purchased TB products in the thousands throughout the years. I purchase a Boston Red Sox shirt at your Tyson Galleria Mall. I thought I was getting Fedex shipping. After over a week, I still had not received.
I have squamous cell carcinoma in the mouth and having a difficult time.
I called your customer service line and the only remedy was a promotional card. I expressed my disappointment that if TB is a boutique line, TB has to act like one. Zegna and Armani would never tell you that your have Fedex than switch a new cheaper shipper line that takes 7 to 10 days. What is your objective? I hope you feel that this customer service is what you desire, as for me, my TB days are over.
Regards,
Glenn Myer
