Ace Hardware History

Ace Hardware was founded in 1924 in Chicago, Illinois. The company was named after the ace fighter pilots in World War I.  The company incorporated in 1927 and by 1949, had expanded to hundreds of locations. After the last founding partner retired in 1973, the company was sold to its retailers, making it one of the largest cooperatives of its time. Since Ace Hardware stores are not a franchise, every store looks a bit different.

Today, Ace Hardware has 4,700 stores and has moved their headquarters to Oak Brook, Illinois. The company sells the usual hardware, paint, and home repair items including hand tools, key duplication, and tool blade sharpening. Ace Hardware had $4.7 billion in sales in 2014 and ranked #1 for the 9th consecutive year in customer satisfaction on the J.D. Powers Index.

I hope that your company values families and keeping them together when they want nothing more than to stay together. I hope that you consider who you are advertising to. The hardworking, FAMILY loving clients that love your product will continue to purchase from their local ACE Hardware if you stand up for YOUR COMPANY’S VALUES. Please continue to STOP advertising on FOX – especially the Laura Ingraham hour. People like her DO NOT REPRESENT the vast majority of people that frequent your stores.

I really like to shop at my local Ace because of selection and customer service, and I’m a rewards member. I usually shop after doing some research, and that’s where Ace falls way short, because the website search engine is terrible. Find an item on Amazon or eBay or Home Depot, and enter the common name for it on the Ace site, and it comes up “0”, time after time. The “suggested items” don’t cut it either.

To the CEO of Ace Hardware,
You made a terrible decision to cut your advertising on Fox news because the Little Punk Hood, hired by Soros, Clinton Crime Foundation and Obama told you that Laura Ingram should be Boycotted. Who do you think your customers are? You think they are the Liberal College Professors who hate America? Or the Corrupt Liberal Politicians called “The Washington Elite”? Or all the Liberal Social Media sites? Maybe all the Liberal lying Media?

“Your customers are Conservative Rural America God Fearing Law Abiding Citizens!”

Don’t ever forget that. We support Trump, Obviously your company has a hard time supporting A God Fearing Leader?
I and millions of your customers were going to #BOYCOTTACE after you decided that you wanted to follow Wickedness, Evil and The Devil rather than God.
What is it about America that you do not like?

“The information we had at the time of the initial request was incomplete, and we apologize for that,” the spokeswoman told The Wrap in an email. The company has not “altered our current media schedule,” she said, adding that Ace “regularly reviews our media strategy.”

Ace was singing a different tune in a statement announcing its initial decision to pull ads. “I can confirm that we do not have any plans to nationally advertise on Ingraham’s show in the future,” the same spokeswoman told The Wrap on April 5.

Ace’s decision to reverse course is the first time a company has publicly resumed advertising on Ingraham’s program after cutting loose its support after her comments on Parkland high school shooting survivor David Hogg.

I will not go to ACE again. I have a Home Depot but 5 miles farther. But you’re going back to Laura Ingraham so I’ll drive the Extra miles!

Certainly it is your free choice to pull your advertising from Laura Ingrahams program and just as certainly it is my freedom and choice to no longer shop at Ace Hardware or any of its affiliates. I am 74 years and have shopped at Ace for at least 50 years. Until you reconsider your position I will not shop at Ace and I will encourage my friends and family to do likewise. Sincerely George E Kerley

As a contractor here in Charleston IL. I try hard to shop local stores and support the community. I look to buy American made items. But I no longer can do that. By pulling your advertisement from Laura show. I will only support companies that stay out of politics.

I will not be shopping at our Ace Hardware Stores any longer.

Ace has always been my go to for our Company and personally.

Why?….if you care to know…….You are pulling your ads and support from Laura Ingraham’s Spot on Fox News because of a little bad boy from Florida. David Hogg does not speak for the students only the activists. They looked for weak and you have shown yourselves to be weak. I agree with Laura….why would a 4.3 GPA student not be accepted at major colleges he applied to? Could it be his bad attitude and vulgar mouth? Many of the injured students are even beneath him and he treats them like they do not and did not exist. Does this sound like a young man you should support over a woman who constantly seeks the truth in media? Think about it.

Well said. I agree 100%

I will not shop at Ace Hardware until you start supporting the protestors at Standing Rock. How stupid can you people be? I’m embarrassed that your headquarters is in Illinois. Shame on you.
