Wild Waves Park was founded in 1977 in Federal Way, Washington, by Byron Betts. Originally named Enchanted Village, the park was very small with only about 6 rides. Wild Waves was built on an adjacent lot and in 1993, Wild Waves bought out Enchanted Village.
The company operates both a water park, as well as an amusement park on the same lot. The park sits on slightly more than 70 acres and has 44 rides in all, most of them water rides or attractions. Today, the park is owned by Premier Parks, LLC.
Wild Waves Park has had minor issues with safety and cleanliness, but health department officials claim that problems are promptly corrected. In August of 2016, a 32 year old man with limited swimming abilities drown in a 10 foot pool on a busy day. The park is reviewing the incident and police reports state it was an accidental drowning.

My family and I went to Wild Waves on 8/6/17 (Sunday). This was our last big hooray before school started and drove 4 hours to get there. Upon entering the location at 10am we became aware that the wave pool was closed. No staff member had any explanation. We went to guest services and the lady at the desk said it was because it was unsanitary and they dumped chlorine in it and should be open shortly. We waited till 5 pm and it never opened. I talked again with a manager and she said there is nothing she can do. It is completely unacceptable there was no sign before entering this establishment to warn us it was closed. We would have come back the following day so we could enjoy. But now we never want to come back and this was our very first time here. We were not offered any compensation at all. Staff didn’t care and were extremely rude. We waited all day in the blazing sun. Every ride line was extra long due to everyone was trying to cool off since the wave pool wasn’t open. My 5 year old daughter got pushed down by a giant man and scraped up her knee really bad in the pirates cove area. That area is for little children!!!! but everyone was just trying to sit in water because it was 94 degrees out and pirates cove was the next best thing. I am disappointed with the way you guys handled this. My daughter said this was the worst vacation ever. I need you guys to email me back immediately and resolve this issue with compensation. We would like a refund! I will keep emailing and calling til I get one.
