UGG was founded in 1978 by Austrailian surfer Brian Smith and his friend Doug Jensen in Santa Monica, California. Smith and Jensen first applied to be the United States distributors for the Western Australian sheepskin boot manufacturer, Country Leather. Unhappy with the quality of the boot, Smith decided to remodel the boot with improvements. He called it UGG and with an investment of $20K from family members, the company was in business. They sold 28 pairs in their first year.
Jensen sold his share to Smith the following year. The company struggled for a bit, until their boots were worn by the US Olympic Team in 1994. In 1995, Deckers Brand acquired the company for $14.5 million. Deckers began to expand the company internationally and experienced double-digit growth in the late 1990’s, but when the boot was featured on Oprah’s “Favorite Things” episode in 2003, the company had a staggering amount of growth, causing them to open a store for the first time in the SoHo district of New York.
In 2012 the company reached $1 billion in sales. The brand is often the target of copy-cat production, with thousands of fake UGG boots being confiscated each year in multiple countries, including the US.
While the company announced in early 2018 that they had reached revenue of $1.5 billion, investors are concerned that the brand is no longer popular and that the lack of diversification will cause problems in the near future.
UGG products, since they are made from animal skins, have been the subject of boycotts from various animal rights groups including PETA and the Animal Liberation Movement.
Headquarters for UGGS is located in Goleta, California.

I feel you’ll on every comment & complain. I’ve never order from this ugg website. I decided to try them out biggest mistake ever. I love uggs but not from this site. I ordered a pair of rain boots on 2-4-23. I was sent a used pair, sent them back 3 times because they kept sending the same pair back. I sent them back they were received in the warehouse on 2-27-2023. I still haven’t received my refund. Keep getting the run around something needs to be done with this company sound like some fraudulent activity going on. But i want my refund. I’m having this company investigated.

I returned something to Ugg on March 3rd and as of today, Ugg customer service has no clue where my return is (April 4th). I have been calling and texting for a month now. One week, the warehouse received the item and they are just waiting for the tracking number. The following week, they are waiting to an update from the warehouse. This week is a different story. Tired of the lies from this company. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY. They are not honest people.

All of these comments seem to be the same but not in a good light. I ordered a pair of UGGs in Oct 2021 for my wife for Christmas. I never heard anything and had no idea what was going on. Come to find out the emails was going to al old email address that I did not enter into my account. Find out the UGG was apparently delivered to the wrong address and the people must have kept them so now UGG refuses to give me another pair, refund or the time of day. Totally unprofessional and lacking in the customer service department. I am completely surprised at how unhelp people have been.

I ordered a pair of your slippers for my son on November 30th, 2021, and still have not received my order. At first, I was told that the shipment would be running late, so I did not expect them for Christmas, but I was told that I would receive them by January 10, 2022, but today is January 19th and I still have not received them. I called to check the status twice in the past week, and I keep getting the same bogus message “Congratulations, your items shipped today. I have also tried calling to speak with someone only to have to wait while no one answers. I am beginning to think that I am not going to get my order, so can I please be refunded immediately. My order # is NA5157613.

In the end of 2020, I purchased boots from Boot World for $165.00
The boot seam opened on the leg side stiching, outside stich on sole. It seems to me that the lifespan of an UGG boot should be more than 6 months of minimal wear, so it becomes only fair that I should received a refund (and I shall send back the boots to you on my dime) OR a new set of boots.
I would gladly send you pictures of the faulty boot whenever you say, but this EM does not allow for pictures.
Thanking you in advance for your immediate attention regarding this matter.

I made an online order on 12-29-2020 and the boots were on back order. Didn’t receive any updates, had a difficult time getting a hold of customer service and when I did, they were rude and not helpful. In addition on the last attempt to retrieve updates on my order, I was told that it wouldn’t be shipped till after 02-02-2021. I called again on 02-03-202i to check status and was told that my shipment date has changed and wouldn’t be shipped until after 02-22-2021. I asked if there were any discounts or any compensation due to the inconvenience and was rudely rejected without any other alternative. I was so frustrated and disapointed with UGG that I decided to just cancel my order instead of waiting an another month for my item. In conclusion I’d really like to contact corporate office. THIS order was mishandled followed by poor customer service.

I am writing about a warehouse in Pa. I went to visit a friend and he worked for the UGG warehouse. they have this GM its a woman that works in the office with other GM. he my friend was telling me the GM are like bullies they talk down to the Managers that help then and actually the the GM job. it was so embarrassing my friend is going to leave the warehouse because how bad the GM are with there employees. no respect they yell at them like they are a child talking down to them. the employees have complaint to HR and he is scrared of the GM and tells them he cant help them . The GM she a female she tell them they are worthless and how she just wants to fire them . this is everyday according to me friend. I flet really bad for the managers that were men and you can see the stress in their face and anxiety. I told them to get a lawyer continue to document everything she does and go on the news. I never seen anything like that in my life and everyone is scared of her . even the VP she yelled at he left the building. I don’t knw how they allow anyone to treat their employees like she was. the fear of losing their job and her letting them know all day everyday. this situation was report to director of UGG and nothing was done. maybe someone can help the employees. I pray

In 2016 I purchased boots from the Woodbury Commons Outlet for $165.00
In the beginning of this year, the boots did not withstand a rain day, and the right boots opened on the side of the soles. It seems to me that the lifespan of an UGG boot should not be only 2 years of minimal wear. Because I have a home in Fla also, I do not wear the boots regularly, so it becomes only fair that I should received a refund (and I shall send back the boots to you on my dime) OR a new set of boots. I would gladly send you pictures of the faulty boot whenever you say, but this EM does not allow for pictures.

I have a pair of western-type Ugg boots which I used to love! I have not worn them more than a dozen times at the most. The sole on one of the boots became separated from the boot and the other one was starting to separate. I contacted Ugg either to send them in for repair or have them pay for the repair. I was told I could send them in, they would determine if they were defective, and refund my money, but they would not repair or pay for the repair. I asked via the website several times. I then took them to my local shoe repair and had them fixed. the shoe repair guy said they were not stitched at all and not glued properly. He glued and stitched at a cost of $50. Said mine were not the first he has fixed for this issue. He said poor manufacturing quality. Ugg would not do anything for me. I will NOT be purchasing ever again nor will I purchase for my children.
