The Manitowoc Company was founded by Carles West and Elias Gunnell in 1902 as a shipbuilding and ship repair company named Manitowoc Shipbuilding Company.
In 1920 the company expanded to the lattice-boom crane business and into commercial refrigeration after World War II.
During World War II Manitowoc built 28 submarines for the U.S. Navy.

Hello my name is Jeff Lawrence Dept Head at ITI Technical College Hvac Dept we are in need of a ice machine (Manitowoc) ice machine to use as a trainer,to train HVAC students on how to service and repair ice machines, We meet with refrigeration companies several times a year and they tell us its a problem finding people who are trained in servicing and troubleshooting ice machines, . We are developing a refrigeration lab that the refrigeration students are creating that assist with Giving HVAC students the skills to install,trouble and service critically charged units. This trainer is very essential to our HVAC program the benefit to our HVAC program would be enormous, so we are wondering if Manitowoc would donate a ice machine to the HVAC program any help you could give us would be highly appreciate.
