TaskRabbit, originally founded as RunMyErrand, was founded in Boston, Massachusetts in 2008. The company operates an online general task service, where customers with a need are matched with persons who can fulfil the job. These tasks are quite varied and can include everything from furniture assembly to handyman services, grocery shopping to dog walking.
The company decided to change names and move headquarters across the country to San Francisco, California in 2010. An app for iPhone was introduced in 2011 and in 2013, the company launched a new tool called “TaskRabbit for Business” whereby businesses could hire temporary workers from the TaskRabbit pool.
TaskRabbit has grown considerably over the past 8 years. In 2014, the company received 4,000 applications for “taskers”. In 2015, that number grew to 15,000. Many taskers hold bachelors degrees and have made “tasking” a full time job.
Can’t reach your corporate office to invite a speaker for an event. Makes me very circumspect when a company has so outgrown itself that you can’t reach the corporate office.

I am writing because I submitted a registration to become a Tasker about 2 months ago and have not heard from anyone. It’s extremely frustrating to pay money and not be able to hear from anyone. It’s also frustrating that you cannot contact anyone from the company on situations such as this.
Please have someone to touch bases with me as soon as possible.
I got the same message. did anyone else get in contact with an actual person? suspicious…..

I do hope this get to someone who can make a difference. I’ve been tasking most of 2017 and enjoyed freelancing with Task Rabbit. However, something has to be resolved regarding your customer support for Taskers. It is nearly impossible to get support to troubleshoot an issue on the Task Rabbit platform. At the end of 2017 I had to go through Orientation again to get my account active after 30 days not having any tasks. So I did the Orientation, but my account was never reactivated. I contacted Support and was told to wait 3 days. I did and still my account was paused. I contacted Support again and was told to take Orientation a second time. Did that and still my account was never reactivated even after waiting 3 days again. The third time I contacted Support I got the same 2 answers and honestly I think they are just following a FAQ to answer issues without even investigating the issue. The Support person I communicated with and gave me the run-a-round is Sydney P. I tried elevating the issue I was experiencing to Management, but Sidney P. would not provide me with any contact info to submit my issue to. I have great reviews with the community and provided excellent services as well as represented Task Rabbit in a positive way. I am so disappointed in the Support after tasking for Task Rabbit and being a reliable tasker. I would like to share the email thread between me and Support as to show the type of neglect taskers are receiving from their Support Team. The bottom line is what is the purpose of taskers giving Task Rabbit 30% of our hard work if Task Rabbit can’t give us proper Support?

I’ve been working for you guys for the past 5 months. I decided I liked your company so much that I would quit my full time job and become a rabbit. I have loved every moment and have not regretted leaving my other job. Last week however I was falsely accused by a new Taskrabbit user. She didn’t have the app on her phone and insisted on me using her cell phone for contact. After the task was over and she was thrilled I tried helping her download the app on her phone to make it easier for her. She declined. After I left she called Taskrabbit Smd complained about me falsely. Since I could not communicate with her through the app there is also no evidence. So it’s my word against hers. Now my account is paused and I have no way of making money. I gave up everything for this company and now I don’t know what to do. I have a 100 percent rating and no negative reviews. I emailed the policy team numerous times and no answer. I’ve searched the Internet desperate for help. Please can I at least talk to someone? I feel like I’ve been fired and not even spoken to about it. I make 1000s a month for you guys. Please help

Hi Abigail. I am dealing with the same thing right now…i honestly cannot believe they just literally fired me completely out of the blue. They shut down my account to where no one can see me or i can’t receive same day tasks anymore. After 2 years of working hard doing over 400 jobs on Taskrabbit.. I too quit my job and went full time with it…..it went good until someone decided to just randomly terminate me supposedly i breached the Terms of Service 3x in a year by showing up late to jobs. It’s impossible living in LA to not show up a few times late. This company i believe is a sham. I really am thinking of hiring an attorney and suing them for wrongful termination. I have excellent reviews in California. It was literally the most random thing ever. I was working hard all month then suddenly my account is off….You can’t even talk to anyone either it’s a damn joke…

I haven’t gotten paid yet for my jobs, just randomly had been suspended from receiving payment.
No response from support.
I too will be getting an attorney.
Let’s get a class action lawsuit on them ! They fired me too and I was a top Tasker ! This company is a joke and never cared about their 1099 workers ! They are users that’s all !!
