The Henry Boney family’s second venture was Sprouts Farmers Market, which had 150 locations when it was bought by Apollo Global Management and merged with Henry’s Farmers Market and Sun Harvest. The newly formed company operates under the Sprouts Farmers Market brand.
Today Sprouts Farmers Market operates 400 stores in Arizona, Colorado, California, New Mexico, Nevada, Texas, Oklahoma, and Utah. The stores sell organic and local produce, all-natural seafood and meats, bulk foods, vitamins and supplements, and baked goods. Sprouts is #2 in the natural organic retail market, after Whole Foods.
In September 2023, Sprouts opened its 400th store in Haddon Township, New Jersey.
Sprouts Farmers Market trades publicly on the NASDAQ under the ticker symbol SFM, is #857 in the Fortune 1000, has 17,000 employees, and had $2.97 billion in revenue in 2014.
