Luby’s was founded in 1947 in San Antonio, Texas, by Harry Luby. Originally named Luby’s Cafeteria, the company grew quickly throughout Texas and soon into other states.
Luby’s operates a chain of cafeteria style restaurants which feature made from scratch foods similar to the ones made in most American homes. During the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays, Luby’s offers meal packages for customers to take home.
Today, Luby’s operates numerous restaurants under the names Luby’s, Fuddruckers, Koo Koo Roo, and Cheeseburger in Paradise. There are currently Luby’s restaurants, 195 Fuddruckers locations in the US, 10 Koo Koo Roo restaurants, and 8 Cheeseburger in Paradise restaurants. The company had annual revenue in 2014 of $400.8 million and more than 8,200 full time employees.
