El Dorado Furniture was founded by Cuban immigrant Manuel Capo in 1967 in Miami, Florida. Today, the company is owned and operated by the Capo family.
In 1994, El Dorado Furniture opened its first Boulevard showroom. This design concept would eventually be implemented in all of its stores. The Boulevard is a facade of a typical Main Street in America, surrounded by “shops” that serve as dedicated showrooms for different categories of furniture.
In 2004, the company opened the largest furniture showroom in the state of Florida and in 2006, Furniture Today listed the company as #46 on their list of the Top 100 Furniture Stores in the US. The company now has 14 showrooms throughout the state.
In June 2022, the company opened a massive 44,000-square-foot showroom in St. Petersburg, Florida.
Headquarters for the company are still located in Miami, Florida.
