Another predecessor of the company was founded in 1914 by John F. Schaefer and Claude E. Hart as the M and M Manufacturing Company. M and M produced tire repair kits, tire cement, and tire patches.

In 1930 M and M merged with The Falls Rubber Company and The Cooper Corporation to form Cooper Tire & Rubber Company.

Today Cooper Tire & Rubber is the fourth-largest tire manufacturer in the United States. The company manufactures and markets tires for cars, trucks, motorcycles, race cars, commercial vehicles, and off-road vehicles in the North American and international markets. Cooper has nine manufacturing facilities and 40 distribution centers worldwide.
