Joshua Motta was working in the technology, intelligence, and cybersecurity aspects of a major company when he realized that cybersecurity wasn’t a technology problem, but a risk management problem.
Motta contacted a friend, John Hering, and they discussed how expensive and complex cybersecurity had become. This enabled only very large companies to afford true cybersecurity.
Motta and Hering founded Coalition, Inc. The company not only looks to prevent cybersecurity attacks but to help businesses recover when they do occur.
Coalition currently has more than 10,000 clients who have insured more than $12 billion in risk.
In December 2020, the company stated that ransomware had become the largest threat to businesses, both large and small.
In January 2021, Coalition launched two new technology tools for their clients to streamline the insurance process.
