Cedar Point Amusement Park often referred to as Cedar Point, is located on a Lake Erie peninsula and was founded in 1870. This park is the second oldest amusement park in the U.S. Cedar Point has 72 rides, more than any other theme park in the world, with 17 roller coasters. The park plans to open another roller coaster in May of 2016.
Cedar Point is the only amusement park in the world with 4 roller coasters higher than 200 feet. This park has been rated “The Best Amusement Park in the World” by Amusement Today for 16 consecutive years. Cedar Point is the most visited seasonal theme park in the world, with an estimated 3.38 million visitors in 2013.
The park is open daily from early May until Labor Day, after which the park is only open on weekends until the beginning of November. Cedar Point Amusement Park is owned and operated by Cedar Fair.
Sawmill Creek Resort reopened in May 2022 after 3-years of extensive remodeling.
