Rover is an online app that offers pet services, such as dog walking. Founders Greg Gottesman, Aaron Easterly, & Philip Kimmey came up with the idea and won an app startup contest in 2011. The company launched its mobile app later that same year.

The company began by creating a marketplace for dog sitting and boarding services. Over the next four years, they expanded to offer dog walking, doggy daycare, and drop-in visits. Every sitter on the platform is an independent contractor and is not an employee of Rover.com.  In 2017  Rover.com began its Quick Match dog walking service, enabling owners to instantly book a dog walker.

The company earns money by taking a percentage of each booking made on its site, which is generally from 15-20% for dog sitting/boarding services up to 40% for its Quick Match walking service.

Thousands of millennials are taking advantage of this carefree way of earning cash without keeping regular hours or having to deal with bosses or co-workers, with some people saying they earn more than $3,000 a month using the app.

Rover states that it hires only trusted personnel but at least 6 people have claimed that their dogs died or went missing after using Rover services.

Headquarters for Rover.Com continue to operate out of Seattle, Washington.

I am trying to get a hold of someone regarding a situation. Is there a phone number or email that I can get to assist me with my issue?

Attention: Greg Gottesman, Aaron Easterly, & Philip Kimmey –

I see all of the commenters here are very upset about their rover experiences. Perhaps I can help your company do better if you will ponder this question. Why are your employees deleting/banning profiles of the rover sitters who have excellent reviews and an outstanding reputation over minuscule reasons such as “providing a phone number to be able to communicate”. Texting is not always effective and not every single rover client provides their phone number on the platform to be able to call. Think of all the language barriers and cultural diversities involved as well as texts being taken out of context. Why would you allow “in demand” sitters to be removed from your platform who have actually proven their abilities over such a petty issue? Your site has flaws in the communication department so that should not be a reason to remove a sitter. I feel targeted by some of your employees who must have too much idle time on their hands. The last year has been unpredictable and some of us were extremely selective regarding who we dealt with due to the liabilities involved. Some of us took a break or prefer to deal with repeats temporarily but that doesn’t mean you just delete people who have been on the site for years and demonstrated their love for animals in a multitude of ways. So now you are allowing those who don’t care or let dogs get hurt instead of doing the right thing? Wrong move. This needs to be corrected asap.

Cease and desist. DELETE MY ACCOUNT. I’ve written to Rover four times in the last few days requesting that my account and every single bit of information about me be DELETED.
Nonetheless, your company has not even attempted to delete my information. In fact, you keep sending BS emails with canned information. Today, the worst of the lot, used the names I inputted of my pets.

    DELETE!!!!!

Your site is an extreme security risk. You even ask for birthday information! What is your grift?

If you don’t rectify this situation immediately, I will have no choice but to contact the FCC, to write the world’s worst Yelp review, and to post on facebook for people to never use your site.

That’s very sad. I’m so sorry this happened to your family and the little dog. Truly tragic. Love and prayers.

I want Gotesman assistant to call me. Your company is disgusting. liars, have no notes on prevoious conversations 12 phones calls with empty promises from so-called GED managers, never to be heard of again. I want my points for the 2000 which will be my next call to parker. The miscommunication is between you and American Airlines. Your company told me to call AA. I did they stated, what…..that is Rovers issue.
