Mellow Mushroom Corporate Office

Mellow Mushroom is a casual chain of restaurants serving pizza, pasta, and other types of Italian food. The company was founded in 1974 by several Georgia Tech college students who believed that making the proper pizza was a science that they could perfect. The company is headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia.

Today, the company has more than 150 locations, most of them franchised. Mellow Mushroom offers a wide assortment of beers and is well known for the colorful tie-dyed mushroom decorations and hippie themed restaurants. Many locations offer bingo night, live music on the weekends, and/or karaoke or trivia competitions. Some locations offer delivery, but not all.

Moe’s Southwest Grill generally referred to as simply “Moe’s”, was founded in Atlanta, Georgia in 2000 by Raving Brands. The company was purchased by Focus Brands in 2007. The company has 680 locations in 38 states and more in countries such as Turkey, Russia, Costa Rica, and Jamaica.

The company has been voted as Best Fast-Casual Mexican Restaurant of the Year in the 2016 HarrisPoll Survey. Moe’s Southwest Grill is known for daily specials that have amusing or trendy names, such as El Guapo’s Infamous Salsa, which is a villain from the Three Amigos movie starring Steve Martin.

Trader Vic’s Corporate Office

Trader Vic’s was founded in 1934 originally as a small bar and restaurant named Hinky Dinks. Victor Bergeron, Jr., borrowed $500 to open the restaurant, which was located across the street from his parent’s grocery store in Oakland, California. Bergeron claims to be the inventor of the Mai Tai cocktail. Hinky Dinks eventually became Trader Vic’s.

The company operates a chain of Polynesian themed restaurants and bars. The first franchise opened in 1940 in Seattle, Washington. During the 1950’s and 1960’s, Tiki themes were popular and the company had as many as 25 locations at one time. Today, the company has about 19 locations, most of them franchised.

Trader Vic’s has plans for expansion in the next few years. One location is planned in Iraq and another in Kansas.
