Heart Attack Grill Corporate Office

Heart Attack Grill was founded in 2005 by current owner Jon Basso in Tempe, Arizona. The company owns a Las Vegas restaurant which features high fat, high calorie food and a hospital theme.

Heart Attack Grill has received numerous complaints, especially regarding the sexualization of “nurses” (waitreses). 

The company had 3 locations at one time, however, after the spokesperson for the restaurant located in Chandler died at 29 years of age and 529 pounds, the restaurant was closed. The location in Dallas, Texas, also closed soon afterwards, with no explanation given. However, the one in Las Vegas is open. With 9,982 calorie burgers, and all you can eat French fries cooked in lard, the reason for the name of the restaurant is clear.

The company makes its own sausage from its Chicago plant and almost all items are made from scratch at each location. Rosati’s Pizza is still family owned and operated, with the great-grandson of Sam Rosati operating his own location.

In April 2023, a court ordered Rosati’s to repay $250,000 in back pay and damages to employees.

Original Tommy’s Burgers, commonly known as Tommy Burger, was founded in downtown Los Angeles, California, in 1946 by Tom Koulax.  The original location is still in business as of this writing. Tommy Burger operates a chain of fast food-style burger restaurants in California and Nevada.

Today, the company has 34 locations in two states. The company is famous for making burgers and French fries topped with chili as a standard item. Koulax’s chili recipe tops just about everything made on the menu, including breakfast sandwiches.

The company is so well-known and popular in the greater Los Angeles area that there are dozens of copycat restaurants. 

Tommy Burgers is still owned and operated by members of the Koulax family.

After having headquarters in Glendale, California, for many years, the company recently moved its corporate office to Monrovia, California.

Grote didn’t want just any pizza business, he wanted the best in the industry. McDonald’s purchased the company in 1999 with the idea of getting into the pizza business, but this did not work out. Grote and his daughter Jane repurchased most of the restaurants from McDonald’s.

Today, Donatos Pizza has 200 locations in 8 states. It is best known for its “loaded edge to edge” pizzas, especially for the pepperoni pizzas, which have a minimum of 100 slices of pepperoni per pizza. The company has also introduced submarine sandwiches, salads, and chicken wings.

Donatos Pizza was part of Undercover Boss in an episode which aired in October of 2013. The company is still owned and operated by the Grote family and has headquarters in Columbus, Ohio.

Franchising began in 1974. Today, the company has 3 corporate-owned locations and 37 franchised locations. The company is still owned and operated by the Aurelio family. Nieces and nephews of James opened their own pizza franchise, called Larry A’s Pizza.

The company is best known for its thin-style pizza, as well as Calabrese, known to most people as calzones. While the company does offer deep dish pizza, it is the thin crust that is their biggest seller and claim to fame.
