The original idea was to create a chain of pizza restaurants that had an urban, east coast style, something that was unusual at the time. Since the chain was sold to the current owner and CEO Chuck Hammers, the theme has been changed to a retro-Hawaii style, with surfing videos, surfboards, old surfing photos on the walls, and beach-style music, such as hits from The Beach Boys.
The company sells pizzas, salads, breadsticks, and chicken wings with various sauces. Some locations offer vegan pizzas and/or gluten-free pizzas. Currently, the company says that it has no plans to offer franchises, but rather, intends to open a few new locations every year.
In 2023, CEO Chuck Hammers attended President Joe Biden’s State of the Union address in Washington, D.C.

Hello, FIrst let me say that I love Pizza My Heart, and I try to go to the one in Capitola has often as possible after all the damage there. I have been a customer since it opened in 80s. I always loved getting the Primavera, it is so delicious!!! I am an old lady who now lives alone, and they no longer make that pizza for customers to buy slices. Now, I can’t have it and it makes me sad. No, I don’t want to buy a mini pizza -I like the big slices coming from New York, and a regular size pizza is just to big for me to eat by myself. I wish you would offer that again in slices, please.
Yeah so I went into Pizza my heart at Santa Clara University and I saw the manager name Yecenia Cuevas she was actually kissing an employee at the store and I did not think that was OK because she supposed to be a manager not have any relationships with none of the employees and I also heard that she is having a relationship with the GM at that store which I do not think it’s OKI bring my son to that location not to see the manager having relationships with all the employees so if you guys can please check on that and if possible please fire that employee I don’t like seeing her there when I go there she makes a really uncomfortable thank you bye
I ordered 2 large pizzas only to get them cold and completely mishandled. looks like the boxes had been dropped. upon opening topping were stuck to the top.
