I live in Lafayette, IN and Payless has apparently made a change nationwide (since I have also seen the change in the West Lafayette store) that I would like to request it undoes.
I have special dietary needs, one being that I am gluten intolerant. I also like to look for holistic foods. Until recently, Payless stores had a special section near the front of the store and near the produce that had foods similar to those that I would find at a health food store, including gluten free and other more healthy products that I like to use. Now you have required your stores to spread these products throughout the store. This will reduce the amount of products that I purchase from you, and I will likely find another store that places their items in one convenient location.
In the past, I would go to Payless because you have the mayonnaise I need, let’s say for example. I would go into the store for this specific mayo (which used to be located with the other more holistic items in the single location that I designated earlier). However, I usually left with more than the mayo. I found other items in the holistic/specialty diet section that I wanted to try. So I would spend more than I had originally intended.
Now, I have to go up and down each and every aisle if I want to try to find the food I came in for and maybe other things that I might want to try. And I have to figure out in which aisle you placed the one specific item that I came into the store to buy.
You likely did this because it is assumed that consumers will look for one thing and end up also getting something else that catches their eyes. THat is why stores move items around in the store.
However, in this case, I will not take the time to go up and down each aisle. I don’t have time to waste doing that. Nor do I have the time to look at each item in each aisle to see if it is an item that my diet will allow me to eat.
In other words, I will seek out another store that places these items in one specific spot, or I will go to a health food store where I know I can find things quickly, even if it means spending more.
So I greatly request that you undo this change and place the specialty items, once again, in one spot near the front of the store by produce. That is the main draw for me to Payless. Now I have nothing to draw me to Payless as I have found some of the items that I need and usually get from you elsewhere.
Thank you for hearing me out.

I am highly upset with your employee Danielle at Store located at 6046 South Cedar Street, Lansing, Michigan 48911-5153. On 02.09.2019 I went to a different Payless for the shoe 1728731733, which was priced at 19.99. The store did not have it in my size. She checked and found it at the above store. I sent my sister at 8:20 to price the shoe and when she came home the shoe was charge 31.79. Your website says, 29.99 however the website side 19.99 as well. I call the store and asked why I was charged was so much. Your person was rude, uncooperative and very nasty. She goes on the website and states some totally different. Then proceeds to say do you want me to send you a screen shot. I shop at this store all the time and to be treated this way is beyond reproach. Your level of customer service and professionalism is not conducive to you customers.
I don’t care what kind of day you are having, to be rude, unwilling to assist and nasty I will not tolerate. I will also be contacting the better business bureau.

I am writing my very first ever complaint to your company because I was very angry at the way your staff handled customer service. I work in retail, so I know that customer comes first and I also know that an associate has to abide by rules sent from corporate. I purchased two pairs of sandals during the buy 1 get the second one 60% off. I have worn the one pair a lot and I love them. I put the other pair on for the first time today. I loved the way they looked. I went out to grocery store and was in tremendous pain and discomfort from the sandals. When I got home a half hour later, I thought I would call to see if I could exchange them at least, I knew I probably couldn’t get my money back and that was fine, they were just too painful to keep. Being in retail myself I was taken back when I got the response I did when I called. The woman said, “be honest with me, would you buy those sandals as a customer, after I put them back on the rack?” I replied, ” As someone who works in retail, I would, and have taken back shoes for a customer that was ripping up her foot and giving her pain, and I would damage them out, due to the fact that the stitching was malfunctioned.” She continued to tell me that she was a visiting manager and couldn’t make the decision. I just told her I will never shop in payless again, wished her a nice life, hung up the phone, and threw my shoes away since I cant wear them and I would not give those painful shoes to good will. Worst fifteen dollars I ever spent. You probably say, its only 15 dollars, but its 15 dollars I just threw in the garbage.

I am totally annoyed and mad at Payless Store #2879 at 7314 W. 191st Street in Tinley Park, IL. I was in the store today to purchase a pair of work shoes for my husband. The shoes were $39.99 but there was a price on the shoes and box that said they were $24.99. I informed the cashier that they had to sell them to me for that price. She said no and went to get the manager and at the same time taking the $24.99 price off of the shoes. When the manager came she stated that the shoes were not $24.99 and she hadn’t seen that price on that shoe or any of the shoes. I told her I didn’t put that price on the shoes and again said she was supposed by law to sell me those shoes at that price. She refused and I left and didn’t buy the shoes!! But, I know that is wrong and against the law! When I called the customer service she had called and told her side and they refused to say anything but the matter had been solved by the manager!! This is the worst case of customer service and going against the law that I have heard!! This store, the cashier, and the manager need to be gone!! I will never go back to this store again and probably no Payless Store!! I will tell everyone I know about this incident and I will write the Corporate Offices and the Better Business Bureau and file and complaint!! I refuse to let this go!!

So completely and totally annoyed at Payless Long Beach Road tonight! I sent my daughter in to return boots and she called me in the car and said “he won’t take them back because he said they were worn”! So I go into the store to add my 2 cents… THD BOOTS WERE NEVER WORN EVER OUTSIDE! She did try them on and walk around in them to see if they fit, which they didn’t. Well, he continued to argue with me saying that out of “courtesy” he would give me a refund but we shouldn’t be returning a pair of boots that were worn. AGAIN, I say “she never wore them” and he then says “she just said she tried them on” I said “yes of course she tried them on and walked around in them, how else is she supposed to know if they fit” he said “she just pulled a rock out of the sole” well please take a look at the pics of the bottom of the boots and the “rock” that she pulled out of the sole and you tell me!!!! The couple behind us (thank you very much) also concurred that they were NEVER worn and the gentleman even got so disgusted with the way Mohammad (yes that’s the salespersons name) treated us that he walked out and called him a not so nice name on his way out! I asked Mohammad if he was happy with his behavior that he caused 2 customers to walk out of the store and refer to him in that way and he then blamed me for calling him that which I didn’t I only repeated! He walked away would not finish my transaction and then Michael came out and told me he did not know the number for Payless corporate for me to complain! I have never been treated like that in a store before!!! I will be following up with the manager if that store and I found the corporate # myself and put in my complaint!!!

I came onto the website to order my husband 4 pairs of shoes due to his multiple surgeries and him gong through them like crazy. The only pair of shoes he can wear that is comfortable are the prime cross trainer. On the website i chose white, size 12, wide. In red letters (i have the screen shots to prove it) shows clearance 15.00. It also shows buy one get one 50% off I check out and its over 50.00
I called customer service and the rep tells me the system is updating and there is a lag and they are not $15. Then he tells me its just for the black shoes. However it does not say black only. I ask for a supervisor and he proceeds to argue with me. Finally after being on the phone for 30 min i talk with a supervisor. She says she can only give me 2 pair of white 12s wide for 15.00 each. I cannot get the other 50% off. I got online to order FOUR PAIRS of shoes at $15.00 buy one get one 50% off and shipping is free if over $25. I went ahead and got the 2 pairs at $30 because my husband desperately needed them and cannot wait. However I am not a happy customer and will be the very last time i order from this company ever again. We have never bought shoes any other place in 10 years. If something is being promoted online and the representative argues and states they cannot give you that price, when they can get on their mobile devices and also pull the page up that clearly shows the promotion. I will be going to corporate on this issue and I saved my screenshots of the website showing thr price also. In reality I should be getting 4 pairs of shoes 2 @ 15.00 and 2 @ 7.50 which comes to 30.00
But again the rep only gave me 2 @ 30.00
My phone number is 217-799-XXXXX
I look forward to a phome call to make my purchase right and to get the other 2 pairs of shoes.

The worst company to do business with. I ordered 2 pairs of sneakers and the wrong size was sent. I called customer service and they told ke ro go to a srore ro return it. I went to the store and the unhelpful worker said the system is down. I ask her for a manager or the corporaye office number she said she will call and have the system back up. She did and thrn told me she cannot accept the return in store because I paid with paypal. I then call cusyomer service again and same nonsense all over again. I went to another payless and got the shoes returned for a gift card. I place another order and now one pair is missing. They told me it will get refunded to my card its been over 10 days and all i get is all these sustomer service reps who can barely speak English and dont have a clue about what they are doing. And no number to call and speak with anyone in the U.S.

The online customer service was rude and very unhelpful. I tried to place an order online for 4 pairs of women shoes. My order was not going though after several tries and trying 5 different payment types. I have tried Paypal, my debit card, capital one Mastercard. Citibank Mastercard and Discover. After I hit submit it bounces back and says please verify your payment and try again. When I check my credit card account online there is a hold on the amount and then immediately released. My Paypal gave a transaction number too and Discover held the amount and up the time of writing this, that’s still not released. I called the online service and I am don’t know of Payless transferred their customer service outside of the country but it sounds like it and the people are very rude. The guy told me the problem is my card and there is nothing he can do. My card? I called Capital one and they said nothing is wrong with me card , They authorized it but Payless is kicking it back. The CS agent with Payless told me only two people are working that night and he cannot help me he is busy. When I asked his name he Yellled out “BRUNO!!”. I wish Payless will look into this ASAP. This is unacceptable! I could not get those 4 pairs of shoes. I had to call different stores to see where they were available. I found 1 in a store 2o miles from me and the others in a store in New York I had to ask a friend to pick them up for me. She is going tomorrow and hope to find them.

All I have been getting is a different person every 2 days from customer service sending me the same “form” letter!!!
No one cares about customers at Payless!!!
Did you actually read my letter? Why would I want a coupon when I told you that I have coupons but because the prices went up, the coupon does not help.
Today I went to return the shoes. The store manager, Bobby, WOULD NOT let me keep my original receipt. She was boorish and argumentative. There were other customers watching her behaviour.
I have tried the phone number you listed. While I was still in the store, Phil finally answered and he said he does not do customer service for Canada. I called another Payless and they gave me a different number. I spoke with Alexis in Topeka for 50 minutes and she was of no help. She actually hung up on me!!
I had asked to speak with a manager and no one came to the phone.
I have wasted my time, my phone minutes, my cell phone data and in turn received nothing but exceptionally bad service and terrible attitude from your employees, both at the store level and on the ‘customer service’ line.
While I am writing this, I tried 2 more times to reach someone on the phone line. I reached someone who initially said she was in Texas and then she admitted that was not the truth!! She lied about being in the United States!!!! The second person was no help either. Both of the last 2 attempts yielded no help whatsover. And even further, they admitted they knew nothing of customer service. . .
By the way, I was put on hold and NO one ever came back to the phone.
Please respond with more than a letter and a coupon!! The time I have wasted, the boorish attitude from one of your managers, the lack of telephone customer service and lack of knowledge and the waste of my phone and data should definitely warrant more from you!!
Also, I would like a local district manager’s number.
At this point perhaps twitter is the only recourse.
I have detailed notes of all of these fruitless attempts to receive service.

I’ve been working at Payless in the Morgantown Mall for a year. Our store is currently closing and I quit today due to our crooked manager, Britney Fisher. She has only been at Payless for a few months. My manager schedules herself with one to two other associates and me by myself. I was selling $2,000 worth of shoes a night and she would work me by myself. There have been customers complaining that she’s outside smoking, leaving the store unattended. I also work at the store next door to Payless and I saw Britney park her car at the back door one night this past week and carry bags of shoes out to her car. She was working by herself and policy states another associate has to check her out and ring her up. No one else was there. I’m complaining because Britney is supposed to be transferred to the Bridgeport store and I want to forewarn the company of her wrongdoing.

Hello, I have been wearing Payless shoes for the past 55 years. I have no complaints. I have many stylish/classic shoes over 7 years old from Payless. However, it saddens me that I cannot get Payless shoes here in Paris. There are no other shoe stores (anywhere) like Payless. I have been here and have only bought two pairs of shoes since being . I am a shoe aholic, in the States I buy shoes twice a month. When BOGO is on, I Purchase 4-8 pairs during the sale. We are in need of Payless Shoe store badly. Would you look into the possibility of opening a store(s) in Paris, FR? I can guarantee you it will be more than successful. I wear a size 12-13 and Payless has always been my shoe savior. Please bring Payless to Paris, France or ship shoes here. The Post Office can handle your packages and you don’t have to charge an arm and a leg to get the shoes here.
Again, please consider a new market. France…land of the big feet and nowhere to buy big shoes for women. Oh, and hire some folks who knows the product the brand.
BRING PAYLESS TO PARIS FRANCE…PLEASE!

I work at Payless and I liked it for a while…then I noticed my manager was doing illegal things like scheduling me 6 hours with no lunch not once but twice. Told me she was disappointed in me cause I didn’t donate like everyone else did cause I was low on money and on the conference call they even said we didn’t have to if we didn’t have to etc. Now they called me in for an hour and last time I checked that’s illegal too that you have to call someone in for 3 hours or more in order to call someone in. (Oregon) . I got blammed cause of not going in an I guess being rude to a co worker over text. But I wasn’t even being rude. I was telling her I can’t come in cause it’s illegal etc. My boss blames me for being rude to her I show her the text but all she did was call and yell at me. The co worker that said I was being rude to is always negative at work. Is always rude to everyone in the work place and literally complains about the work place 24/7. When ever I come to work I always have a smile on my face even if I’m having a bad day cause I’m my co workers don’t need to know about my day and should be treated the way I want to be treated ( the golden rule). Just wish I had a good environment to work in.

I just recently got hired about 2 weeks ago to start at a payless in Illinois and was very happy to beging apart of your staff I was taught how to work the registers and be the lead in smileys, I did as I was told every single day I was to work a shift I was always on time and got a hang of it quick that I actually liked my job but recently the Saturday of November 26 I seen my weekly schedule and was not working any day of the week except saturday from 12pm to 4pm. I arrived at work on time as usual and began to as i did offer the customers help and handle the cash register, at some point I see the week schedule on the counter and notice I was given no day again I immediately ask the assistant manager Vannesa why i had no hours and everyone else did she had no answer and suggested I ask the manager Maria but before I could she called me up to the register and began telling me she was going to gove me 1 day again out of the whole week and her reason was because she wasn’t seeing any improvement in my work and said I was being very slow and mind you she was telling me this infront of the customers and then comes along the assistant manager who had said ahe didn’t know why i wasn’t offered any hours saying i need to act fast work fast pace if not i was going to be let go all I could say to myself was I did everything they told me to and helped every single customer out since the day I started working sure I forget to ask if they would like to purchase something else other than shoes while doing the cash register but I tryed and I feel as if I did my best and with what they told me I just feel really offended its like they basically told me I don’t do anything at work and still get payed but I did everything they told me to do i fixed i recovered i helped customers i did cashier and to them that was doing nothing I applied and accepted this job to give my kids a better life and have a great Christmas since I am a single mother of 3 and to be honest this is not fair at all I feel very discriminated and at this point I am considering quiting because this just seams very unprofessional of these managers and very unfair and may I also mention threw out the day I cought them several times talking bad about me and that was very rude. I wish i could just transfer to a different store since I liked this job alot but if they think I am no good then I might as well look for an employer who does value me!

I work for a Payless in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. On August 30th I entered work at five minutes to five o’clock and found that the assistant manager and another employee were very upset by a call made to the store by someone claiming to be from our corporate office. I clocked in quickly then went to the front of the store where both my assistant manager and my co-worker who witnessed the incident) were standing discussing what had happened. The assistant manager was on the phone with either support or corporate (I’m not sure which because she didn’t specify nor did I bother her to ask since she seemed busy and I didn’t want to bother her) discussing the issue that had occurred. While she was on the phone my co-worker was filling me in on what had happened. While we were talking the assistant manager suddenly pushed me hard enough to budge my body and to cause a little pain in the upper part of my arm where her hand made contact. This caused me to look at her in a bit of a shock then she threw her hands up in an aggressive manor, gesturing to the phone then making a motion for us to leave the area. Distressed and shocked by this I stayed silent and went about doing my tasks while she continued her phone call. It wasn’t until about thirty minutes later after thinking over her violent act towards me and how horribly attacked and assaulted I felt that I called the customer service line to speak to Human Resources. I was able to leave a message with them. The next day I attempted another call, and I was told by the customer service person over the phone to contact my district leader which I did. He suggested that a meeting be held between the store manager, assistant manager, and myself to talk about the situation. On September 1st at around five o’clock I was called in by the store manager who had me clock in and then write down on a piece of notebook paper what happened. Once I was finished she then sat the assistant manager down with us to talk about what happened. During this meeting the assistant manager made an apology but then claimed with in it that she just tapped me on the shoulder, and when I confronted her about it not being a tap she mocked me, making a gesture with both hands and saying, “I pushed you?” When I replied yes she just mockingly laughed, shook her head, and looked away from me. Her mocking laugh and the shaking of her head happened every time I had something to say. The store manager then turned to me and said that maybe the whole thing is out of perspective and claimed that I was overly sensitive. She then proceeded to take a piece of paper, drawing a line down the middle and then a six on each side and held it between the assistant manager and I, saying that on my end I see a six but if I were to look on the assistant manager’s end I’d see a nine. Again saying that it was all in perspective. I told them that if it was a simple tap on the arm or shoulder I wouldn’t have felt the need to report it and that I was pushed, but again this was ignored and the perspective part was brought up again. Both even went as far as to say that they were very stressed out and that the assistant manager could have just been so involved with the conversation that she didn’t think about what she was doing when she laid her hand on me, but I stated that that still does not give anyone the right to do such a thing to another person. The assistant manager even tried to make the excuse of not wanting to interrupt someone that she was on the phone with to verbally tell me I needed to move, attempting to in a way make it seem alright that she put her hands on me in any manner just because she was on the phone. They ended this with telling me that I need to come to them when I have a problem, but with the way the meeting was conducted I feel that whatever problem I would have would just be dropped or ignored in a similar fashion. It’s a problem that no one seems to be addressing and is really upsetting to me as an employee.

I was an employee recently at Payless. I worked at one in Utah, and I did enjoy it, except for my boss. I recently had to have surgery because of a work related injury, and I was out for a good two months. Now I understand that she had to “terminate” me because I hadn’t worked for a certain amount of days, but I had texted her between those days, and she had not replied. She claimed that I never texted her and all this stuff. But that’s not the main problem I had with her. I worked for her for almost a year. Right from the first day I worked with her, I noticed that she wasn’t the nicest person. She seemed super nice when she interviewed me and I was super excited for it, but once I actually started my job, her true colors showed through. I remember about one month into my job, my co workers were talking with one another about things they didn’t like about her or things she was dishonest about. I decided to ignore those things said about her and just go on, but as time went on, I noticed those things for myself. Another thing she did was she almost like “tormented” her employees. She would drive me crazy and scare me, and give me anxiety when I worked with her. I feel as if no one should feel like that when you are working with someone. It should feel like a safe place for you and everyone else. And I know I’m not the only one that felt that way. So maybe it’s not the employees fault that they are all drained and sometimes grumpy. It’s a hard job, and if all of the other bosses of the stores are anything like the one I had, that explains it. She is not a very nice person and is very dishonest in a lot of things she does. I will definitely not be going to another Payless ever after the experiences I’ve had there.

My 4 children and I were out and about doing some last minute shopping for school supplies on Saturday, 8/6/16. We stopped in at the Pinellas Park Payless shoe store to get a pair of sneakers for my son for school. While looking around, I did have some questions for the young, black male that was working (I didn’t catch his name). He seemed irritated that I was asking if they had any of the white, braided wedged sandals left in stock. I had previously bought a pair. I absolutely loved those sandals, but and one of my straps had broken. The young clerk was in the back eating with the floor manager (did not get her name as well). She wanted me to go out of my way to travel to another Payless shoe store that was approximately a good 35-40 minute drive, to find out for myself if this store had any of the sandals left in stock. After pleading with the floor supervisor, she finally picked up the phone and called the Countryside mall to check. A
After looking around for a bit, my son had finally located a pair of sneakers. When we went up to the check out lane, I over heard a customer say something about a Payless shoe store coupon. I was curious and wanted to know what the coupon consisted of, The young clerk had instructed me me to text on my phone in order to receive the coupon. Apparently, I was not using the correct type of phone. I asked the floor manager if there was something she could do to help me. She immediately said :No!”. Might I add that by this time, there was a long line of customers behind me. I asked if I could step aside to decide if I still wanted the shoes. I was told that I could. My son really wanted me to purchase these sneakers. I got back in line, but I was overlooked by the cashier as he took care of everyone else but me. I became irritated and spoke up. The cashier replied “You are back again in a very snotty, aggressive attitude. At this point, I completely lost it on the cashier. The manager on duty didn’t do anything except just give me dirty looks. This is when I told the cashier and manage that they were rude and I would not be purchasing the sneakers from this particular store. As I was walking out of the store with my children, I was never once apologized to. The manager instead starts to joke with the other customers about how I was a pain in the a** and that she was glad that we were leaving. By this point I was so mad!!!! All I could do was cry!!! I asked my son not to give up on me and I was determined to get him the shoes he wanted for school. We ended up at the Central Avenue Payless Shoe store. The manager there, Gertrude, was extremely compassionate and had allowed my children and I to stay in the store with her as she was trying to close up the store. She was so apologetic and compassionate. My son located the type of sneaker s he wanted. The manager allowed me to purchase the sneakers and she even applied the coupon that I had earlier inquired about. The look on my son’s face as I was purchasing the sneakers was priceless. He even high fived Gertrude!

I love, love, love Payless. Some of the shoes i have bought over the years are favorites, and they last just as long as more expensive brands. I have lived in NewvYork and Paris,I know style. One other comment. The BEST thing to me,is that Payless shoes are vegan. I think you might consider a clever ad campaign around this idea. I can visualize a gorgeous gal,in hot shoes, surrounded by a ton of fabulous animals…..a clever slogan….I cant think of one right now…get Stella McCartney to design a capsule collection. After all the complaints I read above jyst wanted to tell you how much I appreciate your great shoes.

I’ve just moved to the area of the Jefferson Valley. I have been going to the Jefferson Valley mall frequently and the young ladies in Payless are so helpful and delightful. I wanted to tell their manager that was on duty how amazing her staff was especially one girl who is short with long dark hair and lighter skin, she helped me find the perfect shoes for a wedding I had to go to and was beyond helpful. but she was in back and I’ve notice that has been often every time I come in. A store manger shouldn’t be in the back sitting on her ass all day as I notice her hard working employees are trying to help customers and clean a mess store. She should be helping not getting paid to do nothing. I was informed her name was Jessica, but in my opinion you should really get a new store manager!!

Kevin the cashier (Greene and Chelten Ave.) Monday 6/27/16 1:30 pm., Philadelphia was rude and unprofessional. He tried to shove the store sale items down my throat. I told him if a person says no, three times.additional request are an act of manipulation . The last time I was in the store, after his annoyance, I did accept the sale I do not want to deal with this controlling behavior each time I visit the store. Kevin informed me that he is the #1 sales person for this site. I opted not to volunteer my contact info and asked him to “just to please ring me up”. He replied, “I am not holding you here”. In other words you can leave. I read the above comments and am surprised at the amount of complaints generated by Payless employees. I hope someone is able to monitor this situation and turn it into a positive experience.

To the Executives or Directors, I went to one of your stores in Pennsylvania, I notice that your prices of your shoes has increased but some of the quality of your shoes are not up to the price. Meaning the soles of your shoes are very uncomfortable. I have talked to many ppl and they always talk about payless shoes hurt tje bottom of their feet when walking and no good support. What can u do better to improve for your customers? That’s something that need attention asap.

I agree 100%! About two or three months ago I had bought some work shoes through payless. They were around $40 or less and now the bottom of the shoe is ripping off. They do not hold well at all. I dont think I will be shopping there anymore..

I agree, and had been trying to tell top management that for years – beginning when I still worked in Merchandise Buying at Corporate. Oh well…

PAYLESS CUSTOMER SERVICE LIED TO ME ABOUT THE DELIVERY OF MY ONLINE ORDER. THEY WERE TOO LAZY, OR SOMETHING, TO MAKE A QUICK REQUEST WITH FEDEX TO MAKE A SMALL CORRECTION TO MY DELIVERY ADDRESS. I GOT 3 EMAILS WITH PITIFUL EXCUSES ABOUT NOTIFYING ABOUT THE CORRECT DELIVERY ADDRESS. THE PROBLEM WAS CREATED WITH THEIR SOFTWARE. IT DID NOT TAKE THE FULL CORRECT ADDRESS FOR DELIVERY OF MY ORDER. MY REQUEST WAS NOT UNREASONABLE AND WOULD HAVE TAKEN LESS THAN 5 MINUTES TO PERFORM.

First of all what I want to say is, I used to like shopping at Payless Shoe Store, but after today’s incident, I will not be shopping there. Payless has the most unprofessional, rude, racist, and uninformed employees. The employee in Cincinnati’s store on Ridge Road, called the police on me because I told him that corporate told me that I could do an exchange or they could give me an in store credit, David did not honor that, so I told him to call the corporate office for me, he proceeds to do that,, so I thought but David ends up calling another store pretending that he was talking with corporate. My friend works at another Payless Shoe Store and calls me asking if I got things together and I told her” no” just to find out that he called her instead. Talk ABOUT idiotic!!!!! I called corporate and I told them about it and they are TALKING ABOUT sending me and apology letter!!!! I will not ever shop at Payless Shoe Store ever again. Marsha

On May 5th, 2016 after having shopped at Walmart on 21st and Amidon in Wichita, KS, I decided to browse for some sneakers before I boarded the local bus for home, I am a 75-year-old retired woman and am handicapped and need to walk with a cane. When I entered the store I told the sales person my intentions and she said “I have some bad news for you.” I thought she would tell me a sale was over or something of that nature, nope! She informed me in a loud and demeaning tone that they did not sell to “bus people.:” I thought she was joking and just kind of laughed and she told me she was not kidding and her supervisor had told her to do this due to the count they needed to maintain. Also, “bus people” were not shoppers and she did not have to wait on me. I asked her to write her name down and she refused, when it got mean I told her to call the police and we would see if I was breaking any law. Refused. When I had asked her to look for the sneaker I wanted, she said I was not really shopping and refused. Ultimately I asked her to call her supervisor and spoke to her, though she was at least polite and spoke pleasantly she said the same thing only asking if the girl had waited on me at all and I replied she had not. All the time this was going on the girl was yelling in the background that I was lying and actually she was lying. I was very upset and just walked out as I have a heart condition which means I should not be upset. I had tried to explain to the girl that “shopping” means the right to look around and if you do not find something you go and if you do you buy. It was against the law to discriminate against me because my mode of transportation is the bus. If I had been drunk, disorderly, or stealing or some of unacceptable behavior she could but not as it stood. Am seeing an attorney about this because the only satisfaction I got was a short, insincere apology.

I was going to tell my story but it looks like no one gives a crap about their company. The people they hire is unbelievable, very sad. Now I remember why I don’t shop there and why I won’t in the future. I will also tell all my friends and family not to shop Payless!!

I desperately need info on the materials and products used to make your Airwalk slippers. They are stated on the tongues tag as being made from manmade materials. In any case, please email me the MSDS if applicable, or the list of materials needed to make them and the chemicals used in the process. This info is strictly for my sole benefit as I am trying to determine what caused the deaths of my pet rodents, who loved to chew those slippers. Thank you ver much.

On April 24, 2015, I walked into one of your Payless Shoesource locations at 208 West 125th Street. I was there to purchase a pair(or two) of saf-t-slip shoes for work. After having a hard time trying to select the best pair to suit my personal tastes, two of your Sales Associates approached me to ask if they could render any assistance to me. I declined because I knew what I wanted, I just wasn’t impressed by your selections. After extensively weighing out my options, I decided it was time to head to the registers for payment. Before making my way to the counter, I opened my bag to get out my purse/wallet. To my horror my wallet was not in my bag. I walked around the store calmly looking to see if maybe I had dropped my purse on the floor. Upon giving the store a double look around, I realized that my wallet wasn’t inside of the store and it had to be at the last location I was previously at. So I went to the counter with the two shoe boxes in hand, sat them on the counter and exited the store. About 5-10 minutes later, I feel someone pounce on my back and grab at my shoulder bag at the same time. I immediately thought that I was being robbed. As I tried to turn in the direction of this ongoing attack, I discovered that it is a male employee of the store I had just left. He yelled something about me having a pair of shoes and to “give them back”. I said, “I don’t have anything”. This deranged and maniacal guy threw me up against a wall, started punching me in my arms, choking me around my neck, and would not let go of me. I screamed in horror, agony, and for help. Most people chose to take out their phones and record, but two gentlemen from the crowd emerged and demanded that he let me go. With some reluctance he did. Because of the area, police were on car patrol at the time. They got out of their cars, questioned me, searched my bags(found NOTHING) and then went to talk with this guy and some of the other employees who ran out of the store. The ASM came out and quickly apologized for this guy’s behavior. Several witnesses walked me to the bank where I had dropped my wallet, and then back to the store to get a positive ID on him along with his name. That store was closed. I was then transported to the hospital for observation and treatment of my injuries. The following day the store manager refused to cooperate and did not supply his name, but did give me a 15% off coupon for a future purchase. Yes, you heard me correctly. I have spoken with someone named Laura, but no one else has reached out to me. I am requesting that W. Paul Jones, Stephen J. Gish or Douglas J. Treff please contact me A.S.A.P. My attorneys and I will be expecting your call/email. Thank You.

I walked into a Payless Shoe Store at the Liberty Plaza today, in Erie, PA looking for a pair of Ballet Flats, which I found and purchased. There was also another different style, pair I was interested in but not available in my size, so when I was home, I decided to check online. I noticed Payless had a 15% discount on all items on the site today. So, I could have received that discount online but not in the store. That just doesn’t make sense to me; whatsoever. All valued customers should be able to receive 15% online and in store. Because of this reason (all customers not valued) I will be returning my order to the store for a full refund. Payless really needs to improve their customer service.
