The company is almost always named in “the best natural deodorant” lists in many popular websites, such as Mother Jones.

In addition to the detox deodorant, the company also makes tinted and non-tinted dry shampoo, brightener for dark spots, deodorizing soaps, and face/body cleansing wipes.

History

In an interview in June 2023, Harris stated that it was getting more and more difficult to operate stores due to theft.

In early 2023, SuperLo Foods was listed in the Best Of Memphis list as being the #1 choice for local grocery store shopping.

Olga Loizon opened her first restaurant in Birmingham, Michigan, in 1970. She created her own recipes in her basement kitchen and used a machine for making Souvlaki meat which her uncle had purchased, and sauce inspired by her mother’s recipes for yogurt.

The restaurant is known for its unique bread, known as Olga Bread.

During the vibrant decades of the 1970s and 1980s, this chain embarked on a journey of expansion, spreading its presence from southeastern Michigan to the bustling streets of Illinois. It wasn’t until 1981 that the chain’s first Floridian outpost was in the Clearwater Mall in the picturesque city of Clearwater, Florida.

With each passing year, their success soared, and by 1985, the chain had accumulated an impressive $22 million in revenue, paving the way for their foray into the world of franchising.

Fast forward to 1992, and the chain had established a formidable presence, with 56 stores spanning across 11 states. They even introduced a groundbreaking prototype store at Lakeside Mall in Sterling Heights. Yet, by 1999, their footprint had dwindled to 28 stores across four states, though a steadfast survivor, the St. Clair Square location in Fairview Heights, Illinois, continued to serve its loyal patrons.

Olga Loizon passed away in 2019 but her restaurant chain lives on. As of this writing there are 26 locations, most of them in Michigan.

In May 2023, Olga’s Kitchen delivered hundreds of meals to teachers in Oakland County, Michigan.

Olga Loizon created a charitable foundation for women entrepreneurs who were looking to start or build their own businesses in Michigan. The foundation offers grants of up to $10,000 for those with a business plan.

Zara was founded in Spain in 1975. The first store location was in Galicia, Spain. Founder Amanicio Ortega wanted to name the company Zorba, after the infamous movie Zorba the Greek, but when he discovered that there was a bar with that name just two blocks away, he changed the name to Zara.

In 1989, the first store was opened in the United States. In 2010, Zara created its online e-commerce site.

Zara’s product range spans various categories, including men’s, women’s, and children’s clothing (Zara Kids), and it offers a unique touch of home design with Zara Home designs are available only in European stores.

The brand primarily caters to a customer base typically aged between 18 and around 35 years old. Once the product designs are finalized, it takes a mere 10 to 15 days for them to make their way to Zara’s stores, all facilitated through their distribution center in Spain.

At the distribution center, each item undergoes a meticulous process of inspection, sorting, tagging, and loading onto delivery trucks, ensuring the majority of customers receive their clothing within just 48 hours.

Impressively, Zara manages to produce over 450 million items each year. In addition to clothing, the brand also offers a wide array of accessories, shoes, swimwear, beauty products, and perfumes for its discerning clientele.

As of 2021, the company had over 2,000 locations and a very active e-commerce site.

Zara opened a second location in Louisiana in October 2023 due to high demand.

Some online bloggers have noted that Zara’s tags often have small symbols and speculation has run wild as to what those symbols could mean. A spokesperson for the company says that the symbols are only size guidelines. A circle means the garment tends to run large while a triangle means it runs small. The square means it runs true to size.

Zara states that all hard plastic alarms will be removed from clothing by the end of 2024. Alarms will be replaced with smaller tracking devices that are nearly invisible to the average consumer.
