I am writing to complain about the Syracuse NY office. A year ago last spring the branch manager inspected our attic and found signs of bat infestation, and promised to return with a platform to see why bats were still getting in. He also promised to have the site cleaned up and additional areas sealed. Previously in 2018 Syracuse Orkin employees had sealed the attic and installed a bat shute to remove any bats that were inside. Orkin was paid around $6000 in 2018, and I paid around $400 in 2022 for another cleanup of bat droppings. The workers never came back in 2019 to remove the shute as they were supposed to, and bats got back in, so they finally came a year later to remove the shute and try to repair the holes that it had created, but bats keep getting into our house. I have repeatedly called and left messages for the branch manager, but he has never returned any of my calls and the work has never been performed. The office also has a voicemail system, but no one ever responds to those calls either. The only reason to use Orkin is if you are desperate and there is no alternative.

I would like to file a complaint. I had a rep. Dawson Redmon From orkin came to my house and did an inspection, because I was hearing noises coming from my attic I thought I was rats or squirrel. He did the inspection on 2/28/2022 and told me I had gaps in my roof from the builder that needed attention. He told me he could get his guys out the next day to fix the problem. He said it would cost $1,500.00, but he would do it for $1,225.00. I told him to go ahead, but I would need a copy of the inspection, so I could look it over. The next morning two guys were out working on my house. I called Dawson and said you have guys working on my house and you never sent me a copy of the inspection. He said he would, so I told him since they are already there they can go ahead. They were there about half day and said they had to get more material so they would be back the next day. They never showed up, so I called Dawson and he said he could not get what they wanted, so they would be out the following day. They did show up on 03/01/22 and told my fiancé they would be there for half a day. she had to leave once they got there, so she gave them the check and left. Once she left they packed up and left. I called the office and spoke to Christy asking why did they leave. She said maybe they are done, but I told her that’s not what they told me fiancé. In 03/02/22 I called the office and asked to speak to Dawson, because I did not get a copy of what was done and he told me he would give me a one year warranty. Christy told me they do not do one year warranty, so I told her that’s what Dawson told me, so she said she would honor it. A few days later I was still hearing the same noises in my attic. They came out several more times and did not find anything. I file a complaint on 03/20/22, because I was still hearing noises in my attic. Nathan showed up and told me he did not see anything and at this point I was just over these people. Move forward a few weeks ago the noise came back and I called another pest control company who came out and told me my vent cover for my dryer one of the flop came off and birds were getting into the attic making all that noise. It cost me $16.97 on amazon for a new cover and I got scammed by orkin out of $1225. They should be ashamed of themselves. I will never use them again or recommend them to anyone.

I have been with ORkin for 3 years maybe a little longer and I have had renovations and still I am having the same issue Bugs, I had had several service men come, some rude, some stayed as little as 5 minutes, some gave me excuses of why the bugs were still here due to the dampness in my home. OK so I took care of all the dampness, I took care of everything my whole house is renovated and still I pay you each month and still in between my visits I’m still seeing roaches I’ve had several texts there was only one tech his name? They came out and did a thorough hey Sarah pest control in my house the only one he started from the basement work his way up to the outside I did not see any now the text is coming to my house they’re not doing their job and I’m still paying Orkin I am disgusted I want a refund and end my contract this is absurd, I live in Philadelphia and the area I live some of the techs look at it as if they have an issue, I am appalled at your service. I called my home office yesterday left a message and. The reception said the office would call me back no one had of yet next step is a lawyer. You took my money but I still have the issue. I just want my money returned and end my contract.

Hi Lisa,
I am also a very disappointed customer with Orkin. Long story, but they didn’t do inspection for mice first. Due to that, the mice population grew. The workers only put glue traps down. Person who did inspection, said mice were all over our house – in the insulation, attic, mouse droppings found. It was a nightmare! Plus, she said they keep multiplying. The quote given was $5,000=$20,000 (which I know now, is INSANE)! I emailed Orkin – no reply. I am going to tell them not to come and because we signed a contract, we will still pay bimonthly $103 – 3 payments. I don’t even care.

We had our first service at our home at 2450 S. Newton Street, Denver, CO 80219 on 6/22/2021. We were charged $124.00 dollars and the moths are worse. Orkin placed traps for moths and they were not working so we went out and bought our own at Home Depot. The traps we bought have so many moths in them and Orkins traps have perhaps 2 or 3 moths. I am very disappointed on Orkins service and would like my money returned as soon as possible. I have taken pictures of the traps and will share with other people on my social media account. I absolutely LOVED the commercial with the Orkin man giving a bridal shower gift. I would run back into the room to see him made into a bride with toilet paper. Why in the world did you cut it short? I really miss that commercial. Brightens my day during this pandemic. Please, bring the whole thing back!

Orkin Pest & Termite Control
60 Hanna Pkwy,
Akron, OH 44319
To Whom It May Concern:
Greetings, my name is Beatrice Boyd and I live at XXXX McKinley Avenue in Akron, Ohio. I am sending this correspondence out of concern for my home and my well-being as I hope you can offer some additional assistance to my situation.
I had an infestation of termites in my home and called your company for an inspection and ultimately for treatment. In April of 2019, Brandon Peske, came to my home as I explained that the flooring in my first-floor bedroom had loosened in a spot on my beautiful hardwood floor. Mr. Peske inspected my bedroom, the basement and the perimeter of my house. He ventured around the outside of the perimeter of my home and stated that I had an infestation of Subterranean Termites that needed exterminated. I lived in this home for well over 45+ years and never had any problems of infestation any kind, my home well maintained and well cared for, but I presume there is a first time for everything. I signed the contract and on May 8, 2019 two technicians came and applied product around my home and on the underside of the rafters in the basement underneath the area the termites ate through my flooring.
Let us fast forward to a few weeks ago. Mr. Peske called to do the yearly warranty re-inspection; he came out on April 7, 2020. His comments, from the re-inspection read that there was no activity. Two weeks later, April 22, 2020 I am painting my basement and find not one, but two active colonies of termites.
At this point, I am extremely distraught. I called the company; a tech came out and I was told that they would re-apply an application to the exterior of my house at the area where I identified an infestation.
This infestation was identified as I was painting the walls in the basement of my home. On the walls sat two bookshelves. Not only did the termites eat through the bookshelves, but they ate through books that now cannot ever be replaced. I appreciate Orkin re-applying an application, but I am afraid that I do not trust that the original inspection was true; or the original application was appropriate. Mr. Peske stated that since around 2008, this was only the 3rd home he ever returned to with an infestation so great. He described how the company would re-treat the area, but I never was provided anything in writing how this was to occur. I asked if my warranty would start over from this application and was told no. That to receive another year’s warranty I would have to pay close to $200 additional dollars.
I am calling upon you because your advertisement says that if “I am not happy then you’re not happy.” Unfortunately, I am not happy. I’m even more disappointed that someone re-inspected and commented that there was “No Activity,” for me as a person with no ability to seek out and search for an infestation to find it; and find it not too far away from a area shown to your staff initially. I find this unacceptable.
Your advertisement says if you cannot eliminate my pest problem, you would return my last service payment. I was thinking that an additional year warranty was enough; but since I was told no; I would appreciate that you return the $1341.85.
My warranty is due to expire May 1, 2020.
Sincerely,
Beatrice Boyd

Two months ago I contacted Orkin about termites, someone was sent out and gave me a date of 12-17-19 to come out and tent my home for termites. When I didn’t get a phone call on the day before about the time they would be coming out I called them. First, I could tell they couldn’t find the work order, the lady who answered the phone asked me if she could called me back in 20 min. When she called backed she claimed she found the work order, and that a someone would be calling to give me a time they would be arriving at my home the next day. I called them at 9:00 a.m. and someone called me at 4:00 p.m. that evening to tell me it would be to cold tomorrow to come out. I ask why I was not notified days ago because the weather had been predicted a week ago the temperature would be about 50 degrees. I had a feeling when I called that morning they had made a mistake with scheduling. The weather has nothing to do with spraying when the house is enclose with a tent, if that was the case Orkin would not be able to work in New Orleans in the winter months. In order to get your home tented you have to prepare the house, I took out everything that was not furniture, it took me two days to get this house ready for Orkin to come in and do the spraying. I can not believe I did all this work for them to tell me they will try to squeeze me in on another day. This is the worst customer service I have ever had. I would not recommend Orkin to anyone.

Sadly, I have also had multiple no shows with multiple excuses, 3 (?4) this year alone, as have many of the people sending in comments. I too have had to wait hours missing work or just missing getting things done and no one shows up. And no one calls. Part of the problem started when they changed the way technicians get their assignments. I know I tell the person on the phone EXACTLY what service I need and what the technician should bring to the home. It never gets relayed anymore. Company needs a revamp for the technicians to be able to get to the home in a timely manner with the correct equipment. AND some one really needs to have a handle on all appointments. People need to be called if no one is coming. Our time is valuable.

I had what I thought was a complete dry zone job done at a property my husband and I own. The sales person said we would get two dehumidifiers and poly installed as well as the treatment for fungus. One year later after an inspection, I found out no poly was placed, the dehumidifiers were not turned on. I’m not even sure the fungus treatment was done. The current “manager” does not believe me of course when I tell him the sales person, who has since left the job, told me a complete job would be done. We spent over $7000.00 for this job. He now wants to charge another $7600.00 just to install the poly in order to warranty my property. He says the work done did not include a warranty, it was a one time deal. I want to have the poly installed myself as it would cost $1500.00. Orkin wants to charge over $6200 for poly which I know costs less than $400 at a local hardware store. And it is the same 6ml poly Orkin would use for the job.
I am stuck with a dishonest sales person who knew the job was incomplete, could not be warranted, and did not even check to see if the dehumidifiers were turned on and a gross over charge for poly at this point. Sales person was fired or quit, current manager does not want to admit any problem on their part, he told me it reads plainly what I was getting. Unfortunately, lay people do trust that large companies are going to do what they say and say what they do.
This was gross dishonesty and I am waiting for a corporate person to call back from the Georgia office. I am willing to pay for the install ($1400 which I can get someone else to do cheaper) but I am totally disgusted at paying over $6200 for poly which I know I can get for $400.
I don’t have Facebook or twitter, but I will consider getting accounts if I don’t get decent results. I will have to blast this info around in that case.

I have been doing business for years with Orkin. They do my parents house, which I stay in, and is in an estate. I have them spray every two months. I am neurotic when it comes to spiders and ants. This is an old house and my parents did not keep it up. So, there are all sorts of areas little things can get in. I called yesterday again to see if they could get someone out to just spray the outside. It takes about 20 minutes. Normally, they would have come on August 6, but the spiders start building webs just between eight weeks and nine weeks. I have seen this. Anyway, they could not find anyone to come. I know, the men are probably worked to death. However, they always say on television if you have a probable in between times, just call, and we will be right there. Or, what if a new person calls, and you go probably as soon as possible. I just wanted someone to come this week for 20 minutes. Needless to say, one of the young girls which I believe none of them have any integrity, said to calm down. I was calm. Then she said you don’t have to be rude. That did it. I yelled and said I was not being rude, but now I am being rude. There is nothing that irritates people than customer service people saying things that are not necessarily true. So then today, I called, and wanted to talk to the manager. He, of course was on the phone. She said he would call me back, but I never heard from him. She probably did not give him my message. She at first wanted to know what I was going to talk about with him. I said I would rather just talk to him. Well, guess what, he never called. I wish I had his email. I am sorry, the customer service is getting so bad from all the reviews. I wonder if Orkin cares at all any more.

I now wish that I had filed a complaint when we paid Orkin to install insulation in our home. The technician was tired from working too many hours as he stated. His foot slipped through the ceiling in my kitchen and bedroom, causing damage. He also used a blower to install the cheap version of insulation and left dust all over my entire home. The manager said he would send out Molly Maids to clean our home, but we never received the services. Orkin conveniently forgot all about the issues. Awful customer service and not even willing to fix your mess ups. Wow!
Tara says
I scheduled an appointment to have my annual termite inspection done. I pay more money every year for the termite bond. The technician called me earlier than expected on a Saturday morning stating that he’d just finished with an inspection in Mountain Brook in Alabama, and wanted to know if he could come by earlier than our scheduled appointment time. I rearranged my Saturday for the technician to come by earlier. A few weeks later I contacted Orkin requesting a copy of invoice from visit being that the technician didn’t provide one, and I was told that they would email it to me. I never received the email, but two months later I received a letter from them stating they needed my cooperation for them to honor my service agreement and come out for an inspection. I called the number on the letter and spoke with a customer service representative who seemed to be offended that I was calling about the discrepancy between what their letter said and what actually occurred. I think it is unprofessional as well as dangerous for any company to send people to your home on the date you scheduled with their office, but not have any record of the visit or my request for a copy of an invoice. They’re also blaming me for the so call non-visit, suggesting that I’m imagining the visit or not being honest. Now, I’ve rearranged my schedule once more and made another (2 hour wait time) appointment to keep from violating the service agreement.

My family has been a long time customer of Orkin for the almost 50 years at this property location for the annual termite inspection as well as monthly service off and on. I have been extremely disappointed with the manager named Chad as I have left over 5 messages and not one call back! Last year the termite tech just appeared at my property unscheduled and I was getting ready to go into a meeting so he checked just the outside. I never received a call back to schedule for the inside as they have always checked the attic, laundry room, garage, etc., inside. I then got my bill for this years inspection and immediately called the office wanting to speak to a manager about some sort of a discount being offered since I did not receive a full treatment. As I stated above, I have left at least 5 messages for Chad who is the manager and not one returned call. The girl in the office is very aware of how ticked I am and constantly tells me she has given him the messages. Is this the way Orkin treats their loyal customers??? I am seriously thinking of switching to a different company if this does not get resolved within the week. An unhappy customer in Virginia!!!

To whom it may concern,
I’ve had a contract with Orkin for decades and I’m quite upset.
I paid for Orkin to spray something on the joists and subfloor that was supposed to stop mold, and a home inspector just told me I had two different kinds of mold growing on the joists.
A moisture barrier had been recommended a long time ago and the slime that dripped down from the joists puddled up on the moisture barrier and never evaporated.
I am very disgusted and disappointed because I keep getting bills wanting me to renew my contract, and I called and the lady that I talked to last Friday said the boss was out but she would email him and tell him to contact me, and as of today, Wednesday the 27th of February, I’ve heard from no one.
Many many months ago I contacted the local office and reported some suspicious looking damage and I was told a supervisor would have to come out since I have the contract that repairs damage, and I never heard from anyone.
More recently, a month or two ago, an inspector came out without calling and no one was home, so there was no way for him to access the crawlspace, but they mailed me a report wanting me to sign it and return it. He left a note saying they didn’t have my phone number, but it’s not changed in 40 years.
This is what I just read on your site:
We Follow Up
We’ll stay in touch between our regularly scheduled visits and respond to any immediate needs
I feel so ripped off and I’m so angry, because the local office does not respond to immediate needs. The Flowood Mississippi branch is dropping the ball big time and ruining your reputation with this old boy!
I’m anything but satisfied with the Flowood Orkin office and I’m so disgusted that I really feel like contacting the BBB and the Chamber of Commerce, because the only contact I’ve had since a note was left asking me to call because they’d somehow lost my phone number, is bills for $382.35 for my renewal. Seriously?
This office in Mississippi has not impressed me in the past few years and something needs to be done about it.
A Very Dissatisfied Customer

I called and scheduled pest control services, received a start day and time frame. About 10 minutes later, a manager from the Brandon office called me to say that they can not treat my home because its an apartment. The call center knew it was an apartment yet they gave me a rate and a time frame. I called this company because they have worked for another home that I had in the past. If you do not treat apartment homes then say so from the beginning. In the meantime, honor your call center’s mistake and treat my home.

I have been having nothing but trouble with this company since we have been using the services. First my appointments never stayed like I asked then they would show up when we wasn’t home and provide the treatment, when I called multiple of times and asked them to not do that! Then they show up while we was out of town and I cancelled and my card was charged on today for a service that I asked the man not to provide because we cancelled but the lady stated on today that it was never put into the system! Would not give us a refund and they took that money from our mortgage payment that is scheduled for tomorrow and we are very upset! Worst company ever for assisting the customers! I was even assured that this would not happen again by a supervisor and obviously his word didn’t mean anything either!!!

Having been a client for several years, I had a diamond clustered ring stolen from my home by a tech. named Chris. I spoke with the Mgr. of the Killeen Branch named Don. He gave me the Risk Mgmt. number and I have been in contact with Ms. Taylor who has been unable to help me resolve this matter.I rec’d a call on the 28th from Ms. Taylor informing me of a new mgr., and was encouraged that I should be able to put this matter to rest after a long and exhausting experience. A offer was made to me for $500.00 to take down my post. The ring was purchased from Saks Fifth Ave., located at the Galleria Mall, North Dallas Pkwy while employed. Its value exceeds $3500.00. How do you justify that! No moral integrity, character or honesty. Having bonded employees, how is this allowed to happen?. No restitution has been made to me, except the insulting offer by your new mgr of the Risk Depart. I will continue to post my terrible experience until satisfaction is made. I once had an incredible tech named Norm who moved on to greater things and received a thief in his place..I have no confidence in your company and potential clients need to be aware that if and when property is stolen, you will not be believed, and will not receive any
restitution for your loss. .I paid between $80 and $90.00 for service and was glad to because of the tech assigned to my home. Put yourself in my shoes, this entire ordeal has been a nightmare. Being violated in your home by someone you are paying to service your home is beyond description. I sincerely hope that Orkin will take responsibility and make restitution to me for the stolen property taken by one of your technician. I look forward to an end! Let me add that I was informed by Ms, Taylor that Don,Killeen Mgr. did not believe me. She replied that his response was “he said he didn’t do it.” sound familiar? After being exposed, he quit. Orkin Parma, Oh branch and their manager Brian Shamhart took care of my complaint and waived the fee and closed my account as requested. I appreciate them fixing the situation and request any prior comment I posted to be removed as this appears to just be a big miscommunication. Still a good company but I think needs to find measures to treat chimneys with beehives. Thank you. Josh

Very Very Upset. I was under contract and a beehive was in my chimney. Bees were coming in my home and I’m allergic and called the Parma, Ohio branch 490. When I explained the emergency situation to them, they said someone could maybe come out the next day and began asking about a $103 bill I already told them I was paying on the next service call as I did every time before. Orkin then told me to hire a chimney sweep company once heating the hive was in the fireplace/chimney. So under contract, in an EMERGENCY situation, I was told to hire a chimney sweep to kill the hive. Meanwhile bees were coming into my HOME and I’m allergic. I had to hire a new company, even though under contract with orkin which cost me $218 to have the hive killed. I left voicemails for their manager “Brian Shamhart” which were never returned. I was stung, lost $218 hiring a diff company that actually helps in an emergency pest situation and NOW they have nerve to threaten to send me to their Atlanta Collection office for a $103 bill when they cost me $218!!! Being stung while allergic!! And couldn’t care less about me or my well being. Will never use again and am very disappointed, as my hunch is Orkin is a good company and this location just needs guidance. Sadly I won’t be using them again because of this awful awful customer service. Still in shock over this.

So then you call and ask them to come back and treat the inside and they do not show up. Again not once but 3 times . Then you complain and they say the guy that was servicing your area is no longer with us and he is the only guy we have in your area. Lets schedule you an appointment the service manager will be handling this call, And what do you know. he doesn’t show up either. So I believe the 3 times I missed work and you did not show up . off sets the $100 dollar bill you say I owe. which is not correct either.

After 3 visits there was no change in bugs. But worst of all I had to listen to him tell me about seeing an 18 year old in the bath. When I complained to Bernie the manager he said he would cancel our service and hung up on me. Very rude management, no apologies just rude. Not my fault. I will be sure to let everyone and more no about this company and what an awful experience it was.

Wish I had read theses reviews before I had them come out. No shows, late, appointment. Finally came service guy good. Gave my opinion on the issue with appointments. Gave discount, but called to see when coming they said I changed to 1 time visit. Told them why I would do that. Said that can go through evertyyhinh again but have to pay even more. Called 877 number said we have agreement, called office she was very firm in not coming back with out more money. Called corporate still waiting for call. I guess I will be holding my breath. Still have pest issue and will not follow contract we agreed on. Wish never more.

I just got off the phone with Orkin. I have had a termite contract with Orkin since 1969 they did not send the bill therefore I missed payment so they cancelled the contract now I have to pay so much more just because they forgot to send the bill. For over 45 years I have been receiving the bill then would pay it and then they will call me to schedule a time for them to come out and do the inspection they just stop sending the payment and it slipped my mind to call them to make the payment when I called in to complain the ladies just told me well you’ve had the contract for 45 years you should have known automatically on your own to just pay the bill without receiving a bill I will not be back to Orkin needless to say

I am very disappointed in your company. Last weekend (07/22/17) my daughter, who lives in a different location from myself, called your company based on my recommendation, because I currently use your services, which I am seriously reevaluating that decision, with a very urgent issue. Your representative told her that someone in her service area would call her back shortly. Well when no one called her back in a reasonable time, I called and was told the same thing after explaining the situation. Well guess what, no one has called her back yet. Luckily we did find some one that could handle the problem the same day, which was a blessing. When a two month old infant is subject to dangers from an infestation emergency and your company refuses to acknowledge any assistance, that gives me pause as to why am I doing business with this company. I wonder what the BBB would do with your rating if I contacted them. ( uhmmm not a bad idea)

Degrading service in the midcoast region in state of Maine had ocured and is still an issue. Starting this spring after loosing our regular sevice from Doug Morse, a new tech was hired but he has not been able to come up to speed before taking over servicing me.
He arrived for the second visit without reciving the normal service reminder call. Evedently rhe office did call me at the end of the day prior and I had not checked the income call on voice mail before the tech showed up here early the next morning. We were onour way our on an appointment Ut there was waisted time without scheduling the make up appointment. The next thing I saw was a credit card charge for the appointment. I called the Portland Office to discuss with the manager. A few days later he left a message returning my call and I called him back in his cell phone and got his voice mail. No call back occured. I called the Portland Office and left a message to have him call me back. It’s been at least two weeks without a call back. I was charge for service at the end of June without receiving service as is designed for this a count. Can you please refer me to another company who provides the services of Orkin. Thank you

I am still waiting for a response to my inquiry about the unsatisfactory and unprofessionalism showed to me by the local company in Columbus, GA. I received a phone call from someone at the Headquarters Office (I assume) that the incident would be resolved but to this date there has been no further information provided to prove this is no longer an issue. This has been ongoing for six (6) months and I have been patiently waiting for the final results of my initial inquiry.

Thank you for a quick response to this inquiry.

What does it take to get someone to service our home?! After years of being a customer I would assume it was easy… NOT SO!! I have had to call numerous times just for someone to come out here!!! We have been an Orkin client in North Carolina all these years an never had problems! We moved to New Jersey and it took me numerous phone calls just to get an appointment. Someone was supposed to come between 10-2 today and NO ONE SHOWED UP. It took numerous phone calls just to get the appointment. Today no one shows up even though every time I called they told me someone is coming. I have submitted a written complaint, I am filing a report with BBB next, this is no way to treat a client of several years just because we are not opening a NEW account! I no longer feel confident in recommending Orkin to anyone at all.

My grandparents have been with orkin for over 30 years their payments have always been made on time faithfully even paid the other outrageous price increases as well as unnecessary notes the technicians would claim they needed. Please tell me why they weren’t promptly notified when their policy was abruptly cancelled after they reported active termite damage and excessive wood rot as a result?

Talk about a thieving company……Have had Orkin since 2014. $85.00 quarterly and $640.00 in the beginning. The only thing the “bugman”ever did on his once a year visit was check the bait stations. Three years later we have damaged floor joists with active termite activity, which means replacing floor joists,,,I for one have had it, looks like its lawyer up time.

Orkin is the worst!! I called twice and they refused to send someone out to my home because I had not actually seen a rodent. Although I saw suspicious droppings and chewed up carpet.

I was told by a friend that Orkin was one of those who decided to become political by withdrawing your advertising on FoxNews for the O’Reilly Factor (and maybe others). I just can’t believe anyone or any firm would take a “guilty until proven innocent” position in the U.S.A. Please confirm the validity of this accusation about Orkin and your rationale if true.

After over 25 years with Orkin, I am considering cancelling your service. But wanted to tell you why.
Your monthly cost has doubled since we started and I can not see any improvement in your service and certainly the inflation rate has not gone up 100%.
Last year we had a terrible Fruit fly problem in the house. If we turned on the water in the kitchen, fruit flies would fly out of the garbage disposal. Your Orkin Man was not help. So I got of bug spray and sprayed the house.
This year they are back in the house, in about every room. Knowing our Orkin Man was useless on this subject and expecting Orkin to help, AND another increase in monthly payments, I CALLED Orkin and they promised to come out last week to see. I THOUGHT YOU might hve some traps, etc to catch them.
AND, the Larva shells are all in our kitchen cabinets and fall out on the counter when we open a door to the cabinet.
BUT, no one showed up. NO emails as to why, NO phone calls….
SO I decided I had to do this myself so I “yahoo-ed” and found TARGET has traps.
Here is my dilemma, WHY pay $68.10 a month for this kind of service AND have to BUY MY OWN BUG TRAPS.
My wife likes you but I DO NOT and I had an advantage, you charge MY credit card.
And all I need to do now is convince my wife you have a crappy service compared to others here in Arizona and I think the Fruit Flies may do the trick.
Another thing, in trying to send this email, your site would not send via the “email” page. Maybe you employed some checker to check for negatives words which I had a few.
And I have issues with a Corporation that does not allow OR WANT “complaints” nor a place to express them OR a way to contact some CS in Corporate Headquarters. .

I was then called back for a second interview on Thursday, November 3, 2016. After the interview, I was told that I would receive a phone call on Monday to let me know if I got the position. I received no phone call so today, Tuesday, November 8, 2016 I called the woman that I first interviewed with, Peachy, because she gave me her number and told me to call if I had any questions. I just wanted to follow up on my interview. When she answered the phone this is what she said, “Please remove my number.” I have NEVER experienced such unprofessional behavior in my life!!! Who answers the phone like that? I was a candidate for a position in that company and that is how she talks to potential employees? She never called any of my references and I am more than qualified for that position. To be honest, now I am glad that they didn’t give me the job. I would never want to work for a company who’s employees lack customer service skills and who are down right rude and unprofessional.

I got a notification in the mail with important information that had such small print that I failed to “see” the information that I seeked. The reverse has very large print that is headed by “Savw Time With Autopay”. On the front there is customer information and branch information that is clearly legible.
However in the body under “Account Detail”, the print is very small. There was probably an intent to get as much information on that line as possible. But the “Servicing Branch” doesn’t need to be there because it’s in the upper right block.
What I missed because it looked like hen scratching was SCH SVC 07/07/2016 was in very small print
What were you thinking? The “TOTAL AMOUNT DUE” is in a larger bold font.
Can’t you put the scheduled date information in a format that is readable?
This submission has nothing to do with service. I’ve always had impeccable service with Orkin. Years ago I had Brown Pest Control that eventually, through another merger, to Orkin.
One other thing that I think should be looked at is “Payment is due when service is rendered. Please detach and mail lower portion with check made payable to Orkin.”
I know in many cases you perform services on premises where noone is present in which case the statement is proper. But where people are present who can pay “when service is rendered” that added note “Please detach and mail….” is an affront!.

I’ve been a regular customer of Orkin Pest Control for 15 years. Never had an issue till this year. I’m am now a seasonal customer. Summer months only. April Thru September. In April I received a call from the Technician. He wanted to come at a time I was working. I let him know I’m only available on a Thursday or Friday between 8:00 AM and 9:00 AM CST. This is the time they have always come for 15 years. He said he would call back. A week and a half later, no call. I called the office. Told them I did not like being ignored and wanted to have service, especially since I paid in advance for the entire season. I was promised an 8:00 appointment on the following Thursday. On that day no one showed up, no one called. At 10:00 AM I called the office, she said the technician should have called and she would have him call me. 4:00 in the afternoon and still no call. It’s been four weeks. I called the office looking for the manager, manager is in a meeting and can’t be disturbed. Manager called later. He said he would show up personally the following week between 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM. On the day they were supposed to come they called and cancelled the appointment at 3:45 PM. It is now six weeks, no service and I’ve already paid. They said this would be a free service. It would be nice but it’s only free when they come and do the job they are supposed to do. We got scheduled again. Let’s see if we get service, or get ignored this time.

The customer service Orkin provides is totally unacceptable & I so regret ever using Orkin as opposed to TERMINIX. The current leadership of ORKIN should be TERMINATED, period, effective immediately; perhaps a new leadership would require better customer service skills & daily attitudes to be directed in a direct line of professionalism and maybe there would be more attention to detail, and a little more pride taken in the work that you do.

Great job,,,
on the other hand it really disturbed me,,(i dont know if anyone else saw and responded)
He went with one of his field techs,,, in which a lady had a bee problem…
The bees were in a old pole…
Instead of him contacting a local Bee keeper to come get the Honey Bees he decided to destroy them
Its a state and maybe a federal offence to kill honey bees like that,,,I was very disturbed that he did that,, not only are they needed for the environment but they could have been relocated ,,
does he know how much it cost to raise honey bees,,,and he destroys a good colony,,,,SMH,,,,

I had Orkin come out to my house and give a quote on getting rid of my rodent infestation. Dan came out and gave me a price for the attic above my garage and the attic that is in my house of $1000.00. I scheduled the service and also decided to do pest control on the same day. The technician that treated for the rodents was nice but was only told to do the attic in the garage. After the initial treatment I told the pest control person that I wanted to do treatments every quarter ( 3 months ). Well , he wrote the contract up for every two months. I was not home when he dropped the contract off so the person that was there had no idea what the terms of the agreement were. I had two different contracts that I was paying for at once, pest control and rodent infestation. I was paying through the local office for both of the services. Somehow , the person in the office at Branch # 396 put my payment towards the wrong account. I have called repeatedly and told them that it needed to be fixed to no avail. The branch manager took an entire week to call me back and still did nothing to help me. I have proof that I sent the payment and it is not my mistake that it was put towards the incorrect account. Furthermore, I have now been sent to collections. The payment that they are basically hounding me about was back in September and the technician never came. Why would I pay for services that were not performed. I thought Orkin was a reputable company but apparently just a bunch of crooks that do not do their jobs efficiently. I have since after paying them 1000.00 to handle this rodent infestation had to pay a different pest control company to alleviate the problem which they did within two visits. I cannot believe that because of their mistake in Branch 396 that they sent me to collections. Did not even attempt to correct the situation at all.

In September I Googled ORKIN Pest Control in Tuscaloosa, AL. Our son attends The University of Alabama and had found he had a problem with fleas in the house he had recently moved into. When I called the number on that website, I assumed I was speaking with the local/Tuscaloosa Orkin office.
I explained the situation, they told me there would be a “wet treatment” involved and that he would need to vacate the house for 4-5 hours after the treatment. With that in place, I drove to Tuscaloosa to help him clear out his bedding, laundry and anything else necessary before ORKIN arrived.
I then went to the Property Management (who rented us that unit) office in Tuscaloosa to explain that there was a problem. While I was at that office, I received a phone call from the Orkin Technician saying he was at the residence with my son. I explained I was on my way and arrived within 25 minutes. The technician was gone, had NOT done the “wet prep” as described to me on the phone and he left a bill and contract with my son.
I saw the contract and was shocked that they had charged the full amount of $250.00 for a service that was not the one explained to me on the phone. I recently received a bill from the Tuscaloosa Orkin office in the amount of $250.00 plus a year long contract to treat the property. When I called the Tuscaloosa office to question the $250.00 for service that was not provided, she explained that “that price was quoted by the Atlanta Office”. I stated that I never realized I was speaking with a person in Atlanta about a property in Tuscaloosa and felt the charge was excessive for the service that was provided which was a dry spraying around and under the house. I told her that I wanted to terminate the contract TODAY!
She then said that there would be an additional $100.00 early termination fee! I am highly disappointed that a company the size and reputation of Orkin would resort to over charging for services that were not rendered. My husband and I will pay the bill but will NEVER call on ORKIN again and will let all of our friends, family and neighbors know about the “shady” billing practices of such a large company. There are many more “local” reputable dealers to choose from.
I just received a phone call back from Tammy at the Orkin/Tuscaloosa office. She said they would wave the $100.00 termination fee of the contract but the $250.00 billing would be due! Tuscaloosa is a small town and it’s not like he had to drive across Atlanta to do this obviously quick spray job. This is questionable business practice and one I think the BBB should be aware of.

Orkin is terrble regarding fumigation. Save any grieve find a different pest control. It has become a nightmare.I found so many areas not sprayed. They charged me $1600 dollars on the day they came to speak to me. I still have not seen why they said $1600 dollars. They came from my front door to dining room table. Now I have to wait 4 more days for them to to complete the first spraying.
Don’t use Orkin.

On 8/28 John came out to my home in Gibsonton Florida to complete a pest inspection. I was told there would be a 75.00 initial payment which would not be taken out until the inspector came out. Which was lie #1. A payment was taken out on 8/28. The Inspector came out on 8/29/2015 and did the inspection and laid ‘not as many” bait traps for the ants as he wanted to, because he didn’t have but 1 in his truck. I signed that he had come out, and another 75.00 came out of my account. At the end of the night the 75.00 from 8/28 was refunded. I called Orkin to advise them of the growing ant issue on 9/8/2015. They scheduled for Mike to come back out on 9/10. Which he did and asked me where the bait traps that he left were. (1) he said “oh let me see if I have any more in my truck” he came back in with again only one, for a 5 bedroom home. On 9/11/15 I was charged 75.00 for a free follow-up. I called the office and talked to a different mike, who advised me he placed the money back on my debit card. I asked him why it is even coming out because I never agreed to auto pay, nor should I have been charged already. Mike explained that he wasn’t sure but he would remove my debit card. On Sunday 9/13 at 6:26pm, I received a notification that Orkin had taken another 75.00 form my checking account. I called on Monday morning and spoke with Kevin the Branch Manager, who advised he was unsure of what was happening, he would remove my card (which mike said he did originally) and refund my funds. At this point this is now multiple payments that Orkin have wrongfully removed from my account. This did not happen and on Tuesday 9/15/2015 Orkin removed yet another 75.00 from my account, and this time costing me overdraft on my account, as well as late fees on the other bills I was unable to pay due to Orkin. I immediately called Kevin, who stated he is unaware of what is going on he had to call Atlanta, because there is no debit card information for me. I called my bank and advised them to please block orkin from going into my account. At this point I am owed late fees on what I was unable to pay due to orkin removing my money, as well as the amount taken from my account and my overdraft fee. Orkin has advised me they refunded the money, however my bank declined ALL orkin transactions. I attempted to send them a bank statement showing no refund was credited, however Orkin (mike) advised that would not suffice they need an email. WHAT BANKS EMAIL 3rd PARTIES!!!!!!! I WANT MY MONEY!!!!!!!! AND I WANT TO CANCEL THIS MEDIOCRE SERVICE. All of these payments have been taken and I still should not have even been charged for my first month yet.

I live East of the Kansas City, Mo area therefore my account is handled by the Independence office, as I understand. I called and got information on their services and was promised it was guaranteed. They came out and we signed up with the agreement that they would service the first time the first week of June and then come back 30 days later for a follow up appointment. Thirty days came and gone. My husband had to call and say “Where you at” and no one in the office seemed to know anything about coming back out in 30 days. They did however send someone out. That was around the 10th of July. Since we had a serioous problem with spiders, we decided that Orkin should come every other month rather than every 3 months. All was good, then the first week of August came and gone and no Orkin, again. I gave them a week and called to find out what the problem was.
I spoke with a girl in customer service that couldn’t understand the issue. I asked for some one that would be able to take care of the problem. She had a supervisor come to the phone and during this conversation, he was very unconcerned and just didn’t seem to care to even be on the phone. He did inform me that there was an appointment set for August 28th (this is the first that I had heard of this). When I agreed to the every 2 month service, that I was led to believe it would be about the same time each month.
Not so much. I asked this supervisor if this is how their normal practice was. At one point this supervisor told me that he thought I should just call another company for service with them. At that point I informed him that I would like to talk with someone over him. That call never came.
The service tech called and I explained that I was waiting for them to call me to try to get all this cleared up as to the schedule and the comment the supervisor said. The tech explained to me that his superior told him that they had no record of me ever calling in..
So again I have to call in and ended up speaking with a girl in the office. I’m trying to be nice but she is so rude. Clearly she was able to pull up my account and see that I had called. She said “I see you were very upset when you called in before”. At that point I asked her to transfer to who ever was in charge to get this matter taken care of one way or another.
After a few minutes a man comes on the line and says hello several times. I kept saying hello to him. He says I cant hear you very well. I explained “I live in the country” and service is not always good. Trust me when I say this guy was almost worst than the first guy. He says “what do you want me to do”? I told him about my previous conversations….said he didnt believe anyone would tell me to go with another pest control. That I must have misunderstood him or just took it wrong. I assured him that the guy was very clear.
I tried to move the conversation on to the scheduling problem. Told him I had the understanding service would be done that first week in August. This man, remember he is the guy in charge says to me ” I can’t just send a truck out to the country just to service your house when you want it”. I’m shocked. Cant believe what I heard. I said I did not ask for that and wanted to just get this taken care. To get a set schedule and to make sure the billing would be correct. Then I hear this guy in charge say……”OH MY GOD”. I said excuse me! I hung up the phone. Then you guessed it….my phone rings. It was him. He said I dont know what happened but we got disconnected. I said no….I ended the call when he said “oh my God”. Then I hung up again.
The next day I called the number that I found online for the corporate office. It was 4:58. The message that I got said they were closed and that normal working hours were until 5:30. Maybe they are in a different time zone? So I called a different 800 # and asked the customer service girl is she has any numbers for corporate office. After a very brief hold, I was told “no I don’t have that information”.
I still have a problem with spiders.

Atttn: John Lobley and Jack Loucks Until I ran across this Google page I thought my problems with Orkin was simply a fluke. Now I know they are not. Following are excerpts sent by me to your office in Tampa,Fla. My original call was on August 10, This letter was written on August 11 and mailed Certified Return Receipt requested. My property is located in Apollo Beach, Fl. I have been a customer since 2012 with an annual contract of $240.00. On June 25 of this year someone from your establishment made a call to my neighbor who also was inspected. No prior appointment was made and there was no order number on the invoice which indicates that the visit was done free lance. Unfortunately she was in a hurry to get to an appointment with a doctor. No effort was made to facilitate her. No effort was made to reschedule the visit nor had she been called to have the appointment scheduled. I find this unacceptable, boorish and poor business. I now find that I need a reinspection as there is a pile of sawdust behind the toilet in the master bath. You must contact my neighbor and set up an appointment to facilitate her schedule. I expect to be notified of what that schedule will be. This inspection must be done at no cost to me and remediation must also be at no cost to me. This also must be accomplished within the next week (finished by Aug 20. I have made phone calls to different people. The answering service at 813-630-0421 (Mike) promised to contact you and that you would be in touch with me. It is over 24 hours since that call and I have heard nothing. I called your billing dept. (Jacqueline Dixon) at 1800-445-0745 who very kindly took all my information with the intention of following this up. Finally I called 866-800-7436 where I left a message but feel that maybe that was not a valid number. – – – – I want a response to this immediately I am currently considering changing pest control companies and I feel I am entitled to a return of my money.

I have made two appointments with the local Orkin Office in Odessa Texas. Both times the Orkin Man did not show up after waiting 4 hours each time. They did not notify me of any problem. I called them after waiting 4 hours twice and they said they were having a problem getting the appointments to the Orkin Guy and the next time they did not have enough people working. I just thought I would let you know how this Orkin was handling your customers. Is this a normal way Orkin is runned. Very disappointed customer in the Odessa Texas area.

I did not authorize the service and when I called to complain and ask for a refund, I was told that there was nothing in the notes about a cancellation. I was also told that service had been authorized by a person on my cell phone. I checked my cell bill and there was no call made to my phone from Orkin. I was then told by the Manager, well you originally signed up for a year of service. There is deceitful and fraudulent practice going on in the Alsip, Illinois office.

Service was done on Tuesday May 19th bees were back on the 22nd called all that day starting in morning and was told service would get back to me. Call first thing on the 23rd and talked to a branch mag. And was told technician would be out between 1 and 3 that day. Returned home to see he never came. Called the office and was told everything was closed till Tuesday of next week because of holiday, so that’s why I called those two days. The first appt. by the way was set for Monday the 18th but when technician arrived was informed his sprayer was broke. That’s why someone came out on the 19th. Such bad service all across the board. I work for a very reputable retail store was if I gave the kind of service Orkin in Crystal Lake gave I would no longer have a job. All I want is my problem with carpenter bees to go away and was told if they didn’t someone would come out again. That’s all. I’m tired of being pushed around by your inept staff all I want is the problem to be rectified. Believe me if this is not rectified I will be going elsewhere next time and will let my entire neighborhood know how Orkin operates as I am on the board in my community.

Till today I was an existing customer of Orkin on a bi monthly service program.
Orkin has visited my location several times and recently I have been going through the process of getting approved for a VA loan. They notified me I needed a termite inspection Form NPMA-33 I called the Orkin branch at 9:00 am and finally received a call from the girl I spoke to earlier in the day, she informed me Bill would be out to my house in 8 (eight) days.
I explained I needed it sooner so she put me on hold and then Bill Siegal from the Hngham, Massachusetts branch came on the line, I explained my situation and the need for a quicker inspection due to my refiance. Bill was not at all sympathetic to my situation so I let him know if he couldn’t meet my needs I would need to reevalute our relationship. Bill told me there was nothing he could or would do…. after that conversation I called Terminix and they were extremely helpful and gave me an appointment for the next day. Approximately 10 minutes after we spoke Bill called me back to tell me he had been looking over my contract and I didn’t have Termite coverage So I stopped him and told him not to worry about a thing because Terminix was going to meet my needs tomorrow and they actually arrived before noontime. I have since cancelled my agreement with Orkin and have a better coverage program with Terminix at a more competitive price with unlimited treatments if and when needed.
I trully tried to reason with Bill Siegal however all he was concerned with was letting me know he was not about to do anything he didn’t want to do and only when he wanted to do it. Lesson of the day was Terminix was more than willing to do what it took to gain a new customer and Orkin was unwilling to do what was needed to hold onto a existing customer. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH ORKIN GO WITH TERMINIX!!!

I called the local Orkin Office yesterday morning at 9 am October 14, 2014, because the bug treatment they was done on my house was not effective, and I was told that they would have their representative call me back. I waited and nothing, so I called back today at 10:30 am October 15, 2014, was told the same story, so I am waiting again. Looking at the Orkin website, it say, “Same day service as long as you call before 2 PM”. It’s been over 24 hours, and I havet even recieved a call.

This is the 3rd time this has happen. I have called your philadelphia office and they are now closed. I signed on for your company to service my home every 3 months. I want out!!!!!!!!! I would appreciate someone from your corporate office to contact me.

To Mr. Rollins
I have three commercial accounts with Orkin. I am a small landlord and keeping my tenants happy is my number goal. I hired orkin as they are the industry leader. All three buildings are still suffering of pest and now my tenants are extremely upset with me and are withholding rent. I have tried to email the Rochester NY branch many times and called but no one seems to care to return a call. I was just charged for a service today which never took place. No one ever saw the technician on site all day. I hope you do see this note and nudge the branch management to call me back. If not, I will have no choice to report this matter to BBB and the social media outlets. I have been cheated out of funds and poor service. 585-209-XXXX

I scheduled an appointment for Saturday July 5 at 8 to 10 am. At 7:47 AM Orkin called me and said the technician rescheduled for 1 to 3 PM? I waited and the Orkin Technician never came. Wasted my whole day waiting. Did not get a follow up phone call or anything. I hope this is not how you pride yourself on your service. I am very upset with the lack of professionality and will be posting this to my social networks if I don’t hear back from Orkin in the next 24 hours.
Sincerely,
Steve Hohil
