Olinde’s Furniture can trace its roots back to 1897 in Lafayette, Louisiana. The company was purchased in the late 1940’s by Joseph Olinde, who gave it the family name. The company operates a chain of furniture and mattress stores.
From a single location, the company now boasts 12 showrooms throughout the Baton Rouge/Lafayette area. Joseph Olinde was president of the company for almost 70 years before his death in 2015. The company sells a wide variety of furniture, mattresses, and other home goods.
In addition to the furniture store, the family also owns Olinde Hardware and Supply. Flooding in 2016 took out two Olinde locations, one of which was the new Ashley’s Homestore. Estimates are that the company has an annual revenue of $20 million and employs more than 100 persons full time.

I purchased a mattress on 08/10/19 but have not received it yet. I purchased it at Olinde’s Mattress Superstore on Perkins.
I don’t know your connection to Sleep City.
I have received excuse after excuse as to why I haven’t received it such as a forklift damaged it, it will be deliverd it two days, it will be delivered Wednesday between 8-12. Today I was told that it will be Tuesday,
I know that you are going out of business and may not care, but this is totally unacceptaple business.

I purchased a chair at Olindes in Lafayette and I am very unhappy with it. It is flimsy and not well constructed. If my salesperson had informed me that the chair that I was ordering would be like this I would have never ordered it. I have purchased multiple pieces of furniture from Olindes – they have been my go to store for many years. When I expressed my concern about the chair I was told that there was nothing that they could do about it. I am very surprised by this, I thought that this was a locally owned and operated store and the customer came first. This is the first piece of furniture that I buy there that I am dissatisfied with, and I am sorry to say that it will be my last. I just wanted to let you know about the poor customer service that I received.
