Back in 1976, two friends in Colorado decided that they really missed old fashioned Chicago style pizza and decided to open their own restaurant. Originally named Old Chicago Pasta & Pizza, the restaurant chain was an immediate success.
The company was sold in 2013 to Craftworks Restaurant & Breweries, who changed the name to Old Chicago Pizza and Taproom. With 94 locations in 22 states, the company recently decided to open the business to franchising, with plans to open at least 28 restaurants in an additional 8 states.
Old Chicago Pizza is best known for their round, thick crust style pizza and craft beer selection. In 2017, the company added a lower priced appetizer selection, as well as increased their wing selection from 4 to 10 different flavors.
Old Chicago Pizza had annual revenue in 2016 of $254 million. Headquarters are now located in Broomfield, Colorado.

I had dinner at the Old Chicago in Grand Junction Colorado. The meal was bad and the French fries tasted terrible and looked like they were cooked in old oil. The restaurant be was very dirty. It was not busy and tables were left not wiped down. The floors are filthy.

Was at the Old Chicago Hamburg Pavilion in Lexington KY about 1 today. It was terrible, servers were bickering with one another and no one seemed to be working. No one was taking our order, we were getting up to leave and I told our server we were just going to leave, how much were the drinks? He said he hadn’t rang them in yet. So as we were leaving, we walked by the ordering kiosk and he rang them in and charged us $10.46 for 3 drinks. That was ridiculous, obviously no tip. Old Chicago lost a customer today, we won’t be back.

Many of your “facts” about Old Chicago are wrong! question 3 who is the Founder:, It was Frank Day!!
And they did not “miss” Chicago style pizza, The two were from Boulder, Frank was a business major, the other, was a bartender in Denver. They use to play Pinball in an arcade near the first Old Chicago Pizza. the name of the pin ball game was “Old Chicago”. That’s how the store got it’s name. NOT Pizza. they were more about craft beer than pizza..

I have sent multiple emails to your company concerning questions about the birthday pizza and requested an answer back via email. I have been ignored on everyone of these emails. This has been a consistent problem for the past 7 years. How can this be fixed? When Jeff Jordan was regional manager, I use to bring up issues and most were fixed, but the last time I dealt with Mr. Jordan, he and I had met and I told him my suggestion and he agreed. When I sent my suggestion in, he totally ignored adding his opinion in and left me hanging. I have since had multiple issues and I believe that someone has put a stop to anyone with your company responding to me.

Jeff Jordan was terminated from the company in December. I am not aware of the circumstances.

I just left old Chicago in north Little Rock, ar. I was not satisfied with my food and the manager there told me that it was their restaurant policy that they didn’t give refunds. She was rude and condescending. They also told me they stopped happy hour.

I agree but this was old Chicago Thornton Colorado. Every time we’ve been there they screw our order up. Usually we wait until they redo. But today we were so disappointed we didn’t. My son gave the order very plainly telling him no Italian sausage he was allergic. We started eating what we found was Italian sausage. He sent his back saying just take it off the bill. I boxed mine up got home tried to eat it. All i could taste was Italian sausage. I’m not allergic but am not a fan of it. I ended up throwing it away. The good waiter we ever had there was a guy named Rick. We always order the Chicago 7. No sausage no pepperroni. Canadian bacon and breakfast bacon instead. We are so disappointed every time we go and Rick is not there. I don’t think he’s there anymore. The last two time they seated us in the bar area. The music is so loud we couldn’t stand it. This we asked if we could move.

I happened to be in town for a concert in Lexington, Kentucky and went to Old Chicago last night in Hamburg area. I was by myself so I set at the bar. This person who called herself a bartender was so rude to her customers who seemed to be regulars. She told one guy who asked her to smile you got your drink didn’t you! I also watched her wait at least 10 mins to make a drink for someone and when the customer said it was not very good she literally rolled her eyes at the customer. I’m sorry, but I think you could do better a lot better. Screen who you have as your bartenders. I think her name was Taylor and thanks Taylor for my experience I will NEVER step foot in to Old Chicago in Lexington again!

I will NEVER go back to Old Chicago again. I will tell everyone I know to stay away as well. My main issues have to do with the PRICES and PORTION SIZE ( pizza). Apparently a fairly recent price increase on a number of items. Wife had Chicken Pesto Mac & Cheese. I had an individual thin Classic pizza. Which was only about 6 ” in diameter. Maybe 7″ at most. I recall them being significantly larger in previous visits. We each had a side salad and a beer. Coors light bottle (2) for me. Blue Moon for my wife. Got the bill — $50.32, including tax. This is outrageous. My dinky little individual pizza was $11.99 !!! Most pizza places I can get at least a medium sized pizza. Maybe even a large depending on the place and the toppings. Not a 6 or 7 inch pizza wannabe. $3.65 for a bottle of Coors light! $4.79 for the Blue Moon! This restaurant is in Champaign, IL after a college football game. So they are no doubt taking advantage of the situation. If I wanted to pay $50.00 for dinner I certainly would have gone to a better place. They could really care less if they lose my business or not. They have people standing in line to get in. BUT I’M NOT COMING BACK !!

To whom it may concern
I need to tell yall about my experience tonight at old Chicago pizza in Columbus Georgia.
We ordered our appetizer and the kids dinner we waited for over an hour for our appetizer it never came. When us adults ordered our food the waiter came back to tell me that they were out of calzones so I placed an order for a Stromboli which he came back and told me they were out of that also.
They brought out some food and handed my daughter a child’s plate of spaghetti and come to find out was for the table behind us. I asked for the manager I explained that we had been waiting for over an hour for our food and his response was that they were slammed in the kitchen. He would go and check on my food he never came back to let me know. The waiter then came back to the table to tell us they were out of some other food that we had ordered. At this time I told him to just forget it. As I was leaving I saw some people that came in with us and they had gotten their dinner and was finishing up. There was a lady who was their before us she had ordered a pizza over the phone and still had not gotten her order. I asked to speak to the manager again and again he said they were slammed in the kitchen. I must say I was looking so forward to eating at the NEW restaurant but now I doubt I will go back. I’m looking forward to your response.
Thanks

I would honestly give this place a zero. (Chattanooga, TN Hamilton Place location) I have tried to get in touch with the general manager for over 2 months. I originally left messages for the manager to contact me regarding a situation when I had a to-go order. Pretty much everything was incorrect with my order. I was willing to bring my food back for a correct order 20 mins. away so I could have something to eat. I was advised by Jeremy which was the manager on duty. He said that I did not not have to bring my order back since it would take so long to bring it back and he would refund me the order he asked how much did I pay? I told him and he said that he found my receipt. Please keep in mind that I walked in placed the order at the front. I paid for the order in cash. Jeremy stated that he would put the refund in the safe. He advised me on that day that he would not be in the next day but I could still pick it up. I called the following week around Tuesday to advise that I was coming to pick up the refund and I was advised that someone came and picked it up for me. So I advised the Manager on duty that I had not given anyone permission to pick up my refund. I asked for the General managers information. I called back the next day and Laura was on vacation for over a week. I called back several times within the month and left messages for a return call. No one ever returned my call. I thought about the issue today and decided to call to let Laura (the General Manager) know the actual situation. Also to let her know there is a problem within her restaurant and she dismissed me, and had the audacity to question me, asking if this were actually true why did it take me over 2 months to call? I have actually called many times however your staff did not relay messages for you to contact me back. I never once asked her for my refund or credit which was due to me since I was unable to eat what I paid for, she did not take responsibility of the issue. They did not ID the person that came in to get the refund. They stated a “Cousin” came in to get the refund. The refund should have never been released unless it was me and a ID was present. Horrible customer service!!!! As a patron of an establishment I have never been treated as rudely as I did by Laura.

Hello, I just left the Old Chicago in Wichita Kansas on Meas St after the worst customer service of all time. My server was extremely rude and disrespectful and gave me many multiple dirty looks and eye rolls. I brought in outside food while my other friends ordered food (unaware of the rules) and was kindly told that it wasn’t allowed by the manager. I left a minimal tip as all I ordered was tortilla chips and and after leaving as asked, my server followed me outside to asked if I “wanted my change back” in one of the rudest tones I had ever heard as it is normal for people to leave their tip on the table. I kindly turned around and said no thank you and as I left the server was staring at me and my group of friends and shooed is away. This service is unacceptable as I was completely unaware of the rules and complied when I was told them. I unfortunately could not get the name of the server as I called back to get it and the host on the phone told us “i’m pretty sure it was my manager who talked to you guys and whatever she said was fine” when we were not requesting the name of the manager but the name of the server.
