Molly Maid was founded in 1979 by Adrienne and Chris Stringer in Canada. They named their company after their favorite movie “The Unsinkable Molly Brown.”
Molly Maid is a franchised home cleaning service, now owned by Service Brands International. The company expanded into the US in 1984 and now has operations in Japan, Portugal, the UK, as well as the US and Canada. Currently, the company has more than 450 franchises and plans to add at least 12 more in Columbus, Ohio, area in the next year alone.
The company also funds an anti-domestic violence program since 1996. In addition to cash donations, the company collects clothing and household items for women in shelters. Molly Maid has made the Forbes list of Best Franchises several years in a row.
