Lou Malnati’s Pizza was founded in 1971 in Lincolnwood, Illinois. Malnati grew up learning about the pizza business at his father’s Pizzaria Uno restaurant. Lou Malnati’s father created the original Chicago style deep dish pizza, often referred to as a pizza pie.
Today, Lou Malnati’s Pizza has 56 locations, all within the greater Chicago area with the exception of one location in Phoenix, Arizona.
Although Lou Malnati passed away, his sons have taken over the business. Pizza ingredients are placed in the opposite order of most thin crust pizzas, with cheese on the bottom and sauce on top.
Lou Malnati’s Pizza is one of the best known pizza restaurants in the state of Illinois. In addition to the restaurants, the company owns a division called Lou Malnati Presents Tastes of Chicago, which in collaboration with Portillo Restaurants, ships frozen pizza nationwide.
In September 2020, the Daily Meal listed Lou Malnati’s Pizza on their list of Top 100 Best Pizza Restaurants.

I’m one of your biggest fan, love your pizza and i’m not a deep dish person but your is the best. Can’t say enough about your salads and awsome dressing. We normally get our pizzas from the orland park store on 171 ( same mall my sister has her restaurant ) VERY disappointed on our pizza on Sunday, sauce was so bitter very difficult to eat,Please fix that it was horrible i had my own restaurant for 18 years my family still involved so please don’t take this for somebody that wants a free pizza just wanted you to be aware of a problem. Thank you

My wife and I went to the Tinley Park store on 9-26-21. We are loyal customers and understand the hardships in the service industry since COVID.
We also ate at the same location on 9-5-21. Both times we have had the worst servers, one was rude and constantly talked about how good of a server and bartender she was but had the worst attitude not only toward us but toward Lou Malnati’s
Tonight we arrived at about 5pm and sat in the bar at a high top table. We did not get waited on till 5:10 and got our drinks. We then ordered at about 5:20 or so. We ordered a salad and 2 pizzas. At 6:20 we finally asked if our salad was coming. She told us that they were busy in the kitchen with to go orders. We then watched as 2 women seated at the bar got their salad order after having been the about 10 minutes.
At this point we stoped a passing manager and told him what was going on. He said he would cover the cost of our order, was sorry but he would not blame us if we did not come back. I told him we did not want a free meal we just wanted our food in a decent amount of time. He said he would take care of it.
When the salad came out it was not the correct salad. Seeing as how we figured our pizzas would be out shortly we said to just skip the salad and declined it. The pizzas came out about 15 minutes later. And my wife’s pizza was not what she ordered. It was a plain cheese pizza she ordered a sausage thin crust. That was sent back and in less than 5 minutes hers came to the table.
While the food is excellent and the atmosphere are great, the service is beyond terrible.
When we got the check it is time stamped at 5:55pm. Our order was not placed in their system for almost an hour. When she did put in the order, it was wrong when she put it in. In fact the majority of the people seated in the bar area had the same problem with wrong orders and long waits to get service. The 2 women at the bar I mentioned ended up leaving after eating their salads and never receiving their main course.
It’s a shame that a great place like Lou Malnati’s has to hire these types of servers to keep their doors open, while ruining their reputation.

Lou Malnati’s has fallen down the hill from the business that used to be. Orders are either wrong food & have to wait for it to be remade, late orders, you get sloppy wet deep dish pizzas or really hard pizzas that you can break your teeth. The phone lines are a joke & customer service is non existent at the store or at headquarters. Bye bye ?? Lou Malnati’s, no more sorry excuses for a worthless company!

Attn: Marc Malnati:
We lived in Northbrook for 40 years, and we ordered pizza from you there over a thousand times.
We relocated to Scottsdale, and have visited your new locations in the Valley.
Last Friday we went to the one in Scottsdale, and for the first time ever the crust was so hard you could hardly eat it.(or cut it) We brought friends who had never eaten your pizza, and I was a bit embarrassed. I told the server that the crust was very hard.
Believe me we have been a major customer for a long time, and it didnt live up to what we know. WE didnt have that experience at your Camelback, Phoenix location.
Best,

I ordered 4 sausage pizzas by phone on 8-9-2019 and the person I ordered them for rec’d them 8-15-2019 the dry ice completely melted and pizzas were starting to thaw. I’ve called 3 times, I’ve been redirected, left my # for return call after 45 minutes of no return call I called and left a message… I’m fed up, angry and feel cheated as this was supposed to be a pleasant experience for terminally ill friend.
