Hi.
To whomever this may concern .my name is Ellen
I am an employee at the lear plant in Hebron.
I started working for this company about a year and a half ago.I was wanted to have a higher paying Job and spend more time with my husband. I never dreamt that when I apply for this job I was signing my life away. when I started I was working a second shift .Now its a third shift because it was changed. it has gotten to the point where we are always short staff and then we have to work these 12hour shift a lot. working at time six days straight. we get notified the last minute that we have to come in early to work the 12, !0 hours is bad enough every day. you wonder why you cant keep people .because we have no home life. people are getting burned out .all we do is sleep and work. that’s no life. I understand overtime once in awhile, but producing so much product that we don’t have the people to help keep it down. day after day, week after week, taking whatever time you can get out of us is crazy. we need time off to enjoy family, third shift don’t cut it. because if you work fri, into sat, you have to sleep some, then go back in sunday night meaning you have to rest before work. to me that no time off to do anything with family or make trips to enjoy from home. we need people and we need time. people going to keep coming and going till we have descent respect for hours.Producing all this product and having no help is just to keep repeating the cylce. build bins ,work 12 hours to get some things caught up just to keep rebuilding over and over again. six days .because there is no help to keep things moving .something need done. too many hours and days. give it to the people that want the hours. but people need a life outside of work besides sleep to prepare for the night of work.
I know this letter want mount to nothing. but I had to give it a try.
Thank you for hearing this out.
