Although this situation is not involving Hollywood Institute directly, Cortiva Institute is their sister company and abides by the same corporate offices Hollywood education.
On October 5th, 2021 I was falsely terminated from Cortiva Institute by Stephanie Ducksworth (who is no longer with the company due to her negligence within the school). With the false termination I of course as any innocent student would, submitted for appeal. When I was notified my appeal was declined, Cortiva Institute did not submit my removal from the program as a termination, they allowed my FAFSA to end due to “attendance” and falsely withdrew me from the program. When I received the false withdrawal documents from Cortiva I immediately contacted the ACCSC as I was well aware of the malpractice the corporate office was trying to do. I contacted the corporate offices for two months and received no response in regards to this issue. With the unpredictable outcome resulting I was forced to sign up for yet another Esthetic skincare program to obtain my licensing.
Fast forward to December 1st, 2021 I received an email from Kevin Beaver informing me that there was an opportunity on the table for me to complete my Paramedical Program. There was no mention of unnecessary book work as I expressed to him verbally and written that I have completed all of my required book work for Cortiva Institute, Board of Cosmetology and the State of Florida. I received my transcripts which reflect my curriculum has been completed and the only thing I am required to fulfill at this moment is my required Hours and my Clinical Trackers for required services. I returned to Cortiva Institute on December 7th, spoke with Craig Rivers and Jeanine Ploughman expressing to them both that I will not be completing any outside work that is not required by the State of Florida or the Board of Cosmetology. They both agreed they would contact their corporate office to speak with them directly about coming to an agreement. Patricia Stein contacted me today expressing that I will not be able to obtain my license and graduate if I do not complete the work she typed. I have both my transcript, and workbook proving that I have completed all my work prior to the false termination Cortiva tried to end me with. As it is unfair, biased and unethical for a single student to be required to complete work outside of the curriculum. I am posting this to let you all know that this school is unethical all around. Please be sure to keep documentation of everything as this school will try to mess you over and they will if you are not on top of your game.
I will be owning this corporation in the near future. It is time for a change.
