Hello, I was a CSO 2nd shift GL until 6/3/2019. On Thursday 5/30/2019 I had send two members up to MCR due to their actions on the production floor while my PTL and I was giving directions to get operation started due to our meeting running late. During the time that the members where upstairs, there was some Accusations made against me. Shae P. and Dennis T. had called me up to say that there was some alarming comments that was made a validated by other members but they would continue the investigation and let me know. They only called me up to give me the respect that statements were being made but they would continue the investigation. On Friday 5/31/2019 I had gotten a call from Shae P. to inform me that I would be on a one day paid suspension and that he would contact me for further instructions. On Monday 6/3/2019 I had gotten a call again from Shae P informing me that I was terminated due to the Fairness and Respect policy. Once he had told me that I was terminated I had replied back that I was confused and why was I being terminated and what was I being accused of? He stated that “all I can say is that you violated and being termed due to fairness and respect” I then asked again but got the same response back. I have worked for HNI for 6 years. In this time I have never missed a day, never came in late, never been coached or written up. All my performance reviews and feedback was that I’m doing a great job and keep doing what I am doing. I do not fill that the investigation was given the proper time to investigate and follow up. I also don’t feel that I was given the respect to defend myself and debunk the accusations that was against me. I had never disrespected a member or use profanity in a derogatory sense towards a member. The only reason why I’m filling a complaint is because I’m still getting calls from members on the floor about how the investigation took place and what questions were asked. Why wasn’t I given the opportunity to save my employment like ever member is entitled to? HNI is a great place and I will still always recommend people to work for this great company even without being able to save my own employment. Thanks for taking the time to read this.
