I’ve been a customer with Guardian since 2007. The service has been spotty, however, I kept the service. My system has been going off (smoke detection) since November. I attributed that to cooking for the Nov 24th incident. The system went off again around December 5th, without cause. On Dec 7th the system again went off (smoke detection), I took the smoke alarm off the wall, and took it outside and let the cold air shut it off. When I bought it back into the house, it started chirping. An hour later it went off. I sat it outside. Around 2:30 AM, my system went off (smoke detection), I got out of bed, turned off the system, I went out back to retrieve the alarming smoke detector going off. Guardian called my husband whose on vacation in Dallas, then called me. I explained what happened, they said they will cancel the fire department. Minutes later the fire department came out. I gave the firemen the defective smoke alarm. He tried disabling it, and let the Guardian representative know that the equipment is outside and going off in his hand. They left after trying to disable the smoke detector. I spoke with a ” supervisor “, who took my daughter and I a series of instructions to clear the alarm from going off. The smoke detector was disabled. I was told to call customer service around 8 AM. I did that, I spoke with a man, who I didn’t get his name, who dispatched me to a female (chrys), who was trying to get me to buy a carbon monoxide system, a water system, in addition to buying another inferior smoke detector. I let her know that I just bought this detector in 2019 (as I thought that smoke detector have a life period of safety at 10 years). Unfortunately, Guardian has a 90 day warranty on their products. I asked to speak with a supervisor because as a long standing customer who recently bought this detector in 2019, I was not satisfied. To my dismay, Taylor (lead), gave me the business. She quoted me a replacement for $70 more than the last representative.
Guardian needs to revamp its script that there employees use with customers. They also, needs to look into a warranty department, because, defective products are being sold to customers and then, customers are being forced to buy these products again and again. Guardian wants to charge me again $125 for a product, that might not last, and if it goes pass their 90 day period, it don’t match up with the Safety industry of detectors lasting up to 10 years. I am now forced to look into a new company, because, Guardian is ripping customers off. In order for me to get another smoke detector, I have two options, let a tech come and install with an extra rate or install myself. If I extend my contract for 3 years, I will get a discount on the $125 detector. That’s almost borderline extortion. If I’m having all types of issues with the products and customer service, I would get into a contract with the bully whose bullying me. Absolutely NOT. I’ve been with this company since 2007, I showed my loyalty as a customer, where is Guardian Protection loyalty to its customers?. I should have been offered it for free, especially, since it was not my fault.
Guardian since you aren’t spending money on good products, at least use that money on training for better customer service and dialog. As I read other reviews, it appears that the company is not about safety, its about ripping consumers off. The customers are who make a business thrive.

I am getting a tamper silent alarm on my panel and sent to my phone. I called in and they cleared it and then the manager say she didn’t see anything wrong. They rebooted the system.. I keep getting this when I look on my app. I ask that they come out to check this and I do not pay a service charge. If it it bad wiring and my house burns down, I will sue guardian.

I sold my house and move to a new house and was going to transfer my service. I called before I sold my house and as what to do with the equipment and they told me they would move me for free and for me to leave the equipment there at the old house. So that’s exactly what I did now I call to transfer my service to my new house( which already has a keypad a doorbell camera and automatic door lock and the app for free) but the guy told me if I wanted the same equipment I can either pay out-of-pocket for the equipment( two sensors and camera) or sign another three-year agreement on top of the one I have if I want equipment free. I told the man that when I called before I moved they told me to leave the equipment and they would transfer me for free. He would not budge so I asked for a manager to call me back. They’re trying to screw me over into a longer contract. This is not how you run a business. You work with a customer because the customer pays the businesses bills and keep their business open. I did not have a problem with them or other services until I decided to transfer to a new house. I hope nobody uses them and I will tell the owners of the house I sold not to go with her services and everyone at my work and everyone on social media and anything else I can do to get the word out that Guardian protection screws you over and full of lies.

That is exactly what happened to me. I bought the entire package and when I downsized to a smaller place, they told me I could transfer services but that I had to pay for new equipment because the new buyer would benefit from the equipment that I paid purchased. Then they had the audacity to add on additional years to my contract, causing me to have to do a buyout because I moved again and didn’t want to take the service with me. A TOTAL SCREW OVER! GUARDIAN DOES NOT VALUE THEIR CUSTOMERS!

Guardian is terrible to deal with. There Customer Service sucks. After having great service from APT for many years, I was relocated to an area where they were not available. We reluctantly went with Guardian after the salesperson promised all these services that would be part of the contract, they were not. He lied. I even maintained my payments for approximately 18 months while being laid off. We called Guardian no less than three time to inform them that we were moving for a new job to an area where Guardian was not available (thank God). We even secured Guardian’s continued services for the new owners of our home. Still I am receiving bills, and they insist that I call them once again, but I am done. I wouldn’t use Guardian again if they were the only service available.

I hate this company! I was and apparently am still until I die since 2014. I began with Ranger when I built my home in McKinney in 2014, moved to Ft. Worth for a year and called to let them know I did not want to continue with them Timothy30471 told me I still had a year an a few months left on my contract and I would need to pay it off in full to cancel my service. I expressed that I had already called in the past unhappy with their service and he did not care. He said I had to finish my contract. I told him the home I was purchasing had a system – again he did not care. I signed the document he sent over without realizing he had listed it as a new contract – what a switch and bait tactic. They came out to install and never installed a single piece of their equipment and tried to charge me almost $300 for months and months. To date they still say they installed a motion detector which they did not since I have a CAT who would set it off if they had installed. The tech was extremely nice so I signed off on the install under the impression it was still for the remainder of my contract. I have called so many times to resolve this since I have since moved back to Allen and the home I purchased has Home Pro installed. I was then made aware by Guardian I had two years left on my contract – I said no way I fulfilled my contract and they said “no” you signed a new contract. I have called, and called, and called explaining this whole mess seeking a way to resolve – still calling. I spoke finally to Judy who said she would request they pull they the recording of my phone call with Timothy30471 and that was two weeks+ ago. I called again and was told by Patty she could see Judy’s notes and sat close to her so she would review and call me back. STILL WAITING! Not a good company at all. This company is has horrible customer service, they lie, and care about the MONEY they can steal from you.

I sold my house and transferred my contract. They didn’t show up the day of service to install I was furious. I lost a while days pay if I told you why they did t show up you wouldn’t be amused. The manager of the Charlotte office called me and apologized and scheduled to come out the following Saturday. They came and he promise a free camera for my troubles so I agreed. I was getting 4 cameras and a doorbell for some reason he thought I was getting only 1 out door so he decided that my 2 nd outside was the free camera. One I already had 4 on my contracted so I should get refunded plus one camera free but he is changing his story I am so pissed I feel like just telling them to get there equipment out and fight the contract. He made me feel like a liar I am so discouraged

Same issue – for over a year. They used the bait and switch on me. I am also considering hiring a law firm

Hi, I have a contract with Guardian but I am selling my home. I am trying to exercise paragraph 8 of my contract which indicated that I can transfer “my” agreement with the consent of guardian which shall not reasonably be withheld. In turn, The representatives are attempting to make the buyers enter into a new agreement with new terms as opposed to transferring the existing agreement. I am receiving absolutely no help on this and I am trying to avoid enlisting the services of a law firm. Please advise.

I have been dealing with this nightmare of a company for 6 months. I am owed a refund (according to general manager Carmen Digirolamo) of nearly a thousand dollars in addition to home repairs to fix the damage caused by the technicians. The did come and remove their crappy system but now they are not responding to calls about the refund or the repairs. It’s a shame this even had to go to the general manager in the first place but now even he has dropped off and is not answering calls. Do NOT use this company.

It’s discouraging to know that when we moved into our house and got the PREEXISTING system turned on for monitoring, that we are now being charge the “$1,465.00 deferred amount” ( under the installation paragraph) because we want to terminate our services early! We did not have anything installed into the house!! In fact from the contract with the previous owner and guardian the installation and all the equipment was close to $4,000.00. If we never decided to get the monitoring services turned on guardians says it would’ve been their lost. So we actually saved guardian on losing out on their money and equipment. But they refuse to waive the deferred fee even though we never had them install anything. They refuse to waive $1,465.00, even though they would’ve lost close to $4,000.00 if we decided to never turn on the system that was already completely installed in the house before we brought it and moved in! Guardian wants us to pay this hidden deferred fee of $1,465.00 plus 20% of what’s left on the amount of the agreement which is going to bring our bill to $1,824.64. Or stay with the company, which doesn’t have as much to offer us, for the remaining 36 months and that total is $1,798.20! I am extremely upset with this company for this!!
