GetGo began as Cross Roads convenience stores and gas stations throughout the Pennsylvania area. Giant Eagle also had their own gas stations, a few with attached convenience stores, starting in 2001. In 2003, Giant Eagle acquired nearly all the Cross Roads gas stations and convenience stores from Guttman Oil, who owned Cross Roads.
In 2004, Giant Eagle acquired several Shell gas stations in Ohio that were close to Giant Eagle stores. Gas stations and Cross Roads locations were changed to the GetGo names in 2005.
After these acquisitions, GetGo has built the remainder of the company from the ground up, other than the recent acquisition in late 2018 of the 56 Indiana based convenience stores Rickers. Guttman oil still supplies the chain with its gas and oil products.
The company introduced a fuel perks program in 2007 where customers can save ten cents per gallon for every $50 spent. In addition to the food stores and gas stations, some locations also have WetGo car washes.
In May 2019, the company announced that they were going to offer a variety of CBD based products in their Giant Eagle and GetGo locations.
To compete with Amazon, GetGo and Giant Eagle announced that customers would soon be able to take their purchases and walk out the door using the app on their mobile phone for payment.
In 2017, GetGo partnered with Uber Eats to allow for delivery service of their food and drink items. The company currently has 250 GetGo locations in 5 states.
In October 2023, the company announced that it was profitable for the second year in a row with revenue surging by more than 300%.
Headquarters are located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

After being a loyal GE rewards memeber since 1993 and actually a former bakery manger and tech untill that new bakery director pushed me out back in 2016 and did me a huge favor ! No love lost with well I would say what I think of her but this isn’t about someone who doesn’t enter any of my thoughts ! But here my issues ! I notice u changed your reward program with the fuel perks and not for the better ! After today I will never shop for anything again after I’m guessing your manager at the Latrobe get go was the one who treated me like a idiot when I question about the new reward program which sucks compare to what u once offered ! Her name was zoey and she shouldn’t be in that position if she talks to others the way she talk to me ! I hardly shop at the giant eagle anymore after how I was treated for many many years of service I opened so many stores and dealt with that biotch Corbetta in the bakery department! I day is so t have to work with her anymore was the happiest day of my life except the day my son was born ! Anyways I will no longer get any gas at get go since there two sheetz in my area and I will be switching all my medication from the pharmacy so u can take my name off your mail flyers since u lost this loyal customer! That girl as no right being a manager but I guess it’s hard finding good people to work anymore all the good ones r retired ! But look who I made as bakery director talk about desperate!

Dona has made me feel so uncomfortable about going in to the store in Middletown IN. She is always very rude and disrespectful towards me and several other paying customers she look at me tonight and said that the self check out was closed even tho I was told to go to that one as a team member was there and waved for me to come up…. She popped her head around the lottery ticket holder and said “ hey that lane is closed” I then looked back at her and said “ why don’t you just mind your own I was told to go here” every interaction I have with her she is rude and very disrespectful she needs to go before I stop going in to the store

I visit store #3032 Mckees Rocks, Chartiers ave 15136 on a daily basis in the evening usually between 10 and midnight. I’ve complained to the security guards that tend this location about the bums that hang out asking for money and urinating in the back of the store. But they still hang out like they own the place. I am tired of being bothered as I walk in by them please do something about this.

Your store on 38th and Fall Creek Drive/n pkwy must be losing $$$$ like *crazy*. It’s advertised as a 24/7 store. Only- it is never open at night anymore. Non employees in groups inside the store hanging out w the night employees while the door is locked for HOURS to your paying customers??? What kind of a joke is this? You pay an employee to be there is who locks the doors at 8:30 PM and says the store will reopen at 10:30 PM VIA A SIGN ON THE DOOR- well, the doors are *still* locked at 11 00 PM. I’d like a job where I can close the business down anytime I want to while I sit on my bum, talk on the phone, hang out w my friends on the clock and turn 100s of the business customers away- and *still* collect a paycheck. I’ve been going to this store for literally 13 years. This newer manager has no control at all over these current employees and the store isn’t a legit business anymore obviously. You’ve lost $800 a month of business from me the past seven months because the store is closed more often than it is actually ever open. You never know when it’s actually going to be open so why even bother going to the store and trying to giveyou my business & waste my time w this unreliable store and the unreliable staff. . What kind of business is this now? A front for selling drugs?!?! The ghetto social corner instead of an actual legal open business??? The store is always closed at the busiest times when you guys should be banking money – you’re turning customers away constantly because these women want to get on the clock and entertain themselves and their friends while they lock the door and turn your customers away. The manager lady and your night crew staff really need to be fired and you need to start completely over with a better work crew. They are costing you thousands of dollars in lost revenue- lost business. Treating your business like it is a free daycare for bored adults and staff to hang out in while all the doors are constantly locked to those you bring you revenue- this store is being run by an incompetent, unprofessional, irresponsible idiot.

Hi, I’m a former employee who experienced an extremely toxic work environment at your 2223 Kresge Drive. Amherst, OH 44001 getgo location. It was very reminiscent of high school bullying.
I quit, in the end, and now I can’t access your HR complaint’s email, phone number, can’t get ahold of any customer service, and am being harassed even after quitting via facebook by the employees still working there, making fun of me and calling me “dirty” “gangly” and “sick” amongst other things.
I’d appreciate a response as soon as a representative can contact me back. Thank you so much.

Store at Route 30 and Route 48 in North Versailles, Pa. I have been a customer at Get Go for many years. I purchase my cigarettes there as it is convenient for me. You apparently have a new policy now where you check everyone’s ID. I am 67 years of age. You would have to be a moron to look at me and ask to check my age! I certainly do not look younger than the legal age to purchase cigarettes. You have lost my business for all purchases. The young gentleman clerk was very kind. I feel sorry for him that he is being made to ask older people for ID. That said your policy smells of wokeness. Please respond.

I visited your GetGo station on 2132 S. US Hghwy 31, Greenwood, In 46143 on 220317 around 7:05pm. I utilized your restroom, the women’s was out of order so I had to use the men’s, which was very filthy. I was very shocked considering the GetGo un Avon and Plainfield, In usually have very clean restrooms and if they are not you let an employee know and they will take care of it. Anyway, I saw an older lady stocking shelves, but she did not have on a GetGo uniform and I was not sure if she worked there or not, so I said, “excuse me”, she replied “what?” Which was rude to begin with as an employee speaking to a customer. I then replied, “I just wanted to let you know that the men’s restroom is filthy”, she replied, “well honey we’re short handed and he’s been busy all day, so we’ll get to it when we get to it.” Now, there was no need for her to be rude and nasty, the inly reason I mentioned it is because from my experience that is not the norm for GetGo and they have always said if the restrooms are nasty let an employee know and they will get it cleaned up. Customer service has gone by the way side and there is no excuse for that type of behavior. As a disabled veteran myself and other disabled veterans patronize and have patronized your establishment since it was built in the Avon and Plainfield area and then multiple areas since then and I would hate to have to stop patronizing your facilities due to the disrespectful actions of your employee. I would appreciate your response in reference to this issue.
Thank you!

Your South Side/Carson Street location is always a mess, full of debris and litter, which blows out to other areas including other properties and the street. Your landscaping crew runs over the litter when maintaining the grounds further speading the litter around. As a South Side resident, we try to keep our community clean. Please keep up with the cleanliness of your property.
Thank you,
Shelly

Good morning,
On Monday July 19, 2021 at approximately 06:03 at the GetGo at 4924 Baum Boulevard, Pittsburgh, PA 15213 I experienced a lack of customer service.
After entering the GetGo at 06:00 and seeing two patrons using the only available ordering kiosk and all the other screens were covered with grocery bags I walked around the store to preoccupy myself and wait. I quickly settled on a couple of healthy options and stood by for about two minutes as the couple ordering seemed to deliberate. No other customers were in the store so I then uncovered a screen on the opposite side of the pole to hear a voice rudely yelling “Mama you can’t take that off that screen!” I asked that representative if none of the other screens worked and she replied in the affirmative.
I said “ok,” and nothing else and proceeded to the checkout and she walked away from the area of the registers and another young lady mopping outside of the register area nonchalantly said “five seconds.”
I said “ok,” and waited at the register. As she walked behind the register the same representative returned to the register area and stood over the shoulder of the woman checking me out and proceeded to carry on a hushed conversation until two individuals walked into line behind me.
This GetGo over the years has had a minimum obvious presence of any good supervision, many of the staff do not wear name tags including the two young ladies working this morning, I, unfortunately, have complained about the extremely slow service in the past when customer would walk out. I have seen some very noticeable improvements, but it only takes a few careless or inattentive staff to ruin the rapport with customers.
I am a first responder and left my station to grab a quick bite, I never know how long I have to wait but I also never rush the staff. If it is difficult to get good customer service this early with few patrons I will make sure to stop patronizing this franchise and it will not be hard convince my station mates, that is over 16 people.
We like this GetGo for it’s convenience, selections, and occasionally good service, but everyone at my station has had many complaints over the years.
I would like to see what ways this business plans to ameliorate the experience of customers at this location.
Please reply this email.
Thank you kindly for your time.

My wife and I went to the
GetGo on the corner of 422 and caddy-corner from the Eastwood Mall in Warren, Ohio at approximately 8:00pm on Thursday night July1. We got our drinks and stood in line behind another customer who was waiting to pay for a gallon of milk. The cashier was carrying on a conversation with a woman who was just standing there. When he finally was taken care of and left I stepped up and said you should take care of customers and not carry on conversations. The clerk told “don’t disrespect me”to which I replied “just do your job” then her friend and her told me to leave. As I went to leave the clerk told me to “get out you are just an old man,and again don’t disrespect me.” My wife turned and asked her what the store number was, and the clerk told my wife “get out of here “ and moved toward her as we left. We never got smart or said anything inappropriate to get treated this way. We both managed many employees in our jobs and when you have customers that should be the main focus. You should not be visiting with someone while customers are waiting. I had just played a baseball game in Warren and were just returning to Pa. We shop and have been for many many years at Giant Eagle and get gas at GetGo’s. This type of behavior is becoming the norm today with especially the younger people. They would have never lasted during our working years with these attitudes and as the company you should not stand by these characters. I need to hear from a representative of GetGo or maybe we will stop shopping and getting gas from Giant Eagle and GetGo.

We used Rickers gas for several years. When Get go took over we wanted to give them a chance. We needed a new fuelperks card. A nightmare ! The customer service from get go refered us to zipline to help activate the new card. After 2 months I surrender. I use my truck as a work truck part-time. I am going where they appreciate their customers.

I have been to the Canfield store many times. The cashew reserve top-of-the-line excellent people service bow ever isn’t. I ordered a hamburger with fries, but no hamburger. I went in to ask about it but waited 10 minutes with no luck.
A employee walked by with a box full of bananas and did nothing.
I walked up to the counter and she’s sent me to the restaurant waited 10 minutes and got frustrated. I told the cashier life is too damn short. The employees at the Canfield store need more training. I’m glad I stopped getting gas at there store.
I know nothing will be done here, but I would like someone to read this and be cautious about ordering food.

I visited your store location above on Friday 11-8-19 @ 5:45am. I ask the clerk for two packs of Marlboro Lights and the clerk grab two packs of Marlboro lights 100’s. I told the clerk that I wanted Marlboro lights and not 100’s. He stated that he would get them after he scanned the Marlboro Lights 100’s. I said, Buddy, I don’t want Marlboro Light 100’s. He told me not to call him his buddy and he would get me what I wanted after he scanned the 100’s. Then when I went to pay for my purchases still without my request of Marlboro Lights being laid on the counter, he stated my card was denied. I was tired of this games so I proceeded to drop my purchases on the counter and proceeded to Speedway Gas Station instead and received great service.
Issues:
Clerk was taking Marlboro Lights 100’s out of inventory.
I wanted Marlboro Lights.
Clerk didn’t have a name tag so I called him buddy. Which he didn’t like.
My card was declined. Plenty enough for more purchases. Was this a clerk issue?
I contacted store manager and he was very pleasant to talk to. But I want the home office to understand that I was treated very disrespectful and I won’t be visiting this location ever again even though I work down the street.
