INTRODUCTION
Oh what a sad day it was when I learned Fresh & Easy was closing in the United States! The company was very close to my heart due to the fact that had a community outreach program geared towards helping schools in the surrounding neighborhoods. I personally know this because I used to work in a school that was in close geographic proximity to the local Fresh and Easy. We had a day when all staff and teachers that wanted to volunteer came to the market after school. They provided every volunteer with a free T-shirt with a logo HERE TO HELP.
We had different jobs; hostess, guiding our parents around the store to allow them to find specific products, baggers, to help them bring products home and a table with a box outside the store to collect receipt. Yes the receipts; the store would provide a percentage of money raised during this event to the school. Also in regular days if you collected the receipts and brought them to the school the coordinator would take them to the store. I am not sure what the percentage they gave to our school was, but I know it was a great way to build community spirit and help the school.
That is why I was so sad when the stores announced they were closing! Not too many stores are able to or willing to help the communities they serve. To me it really set them apart from other stores and gave me an incentive to shop there, rather than go to a store closer to my home.

I represent a non-profit called Queer Life Space. We have attempted to close our account for months, but keep getting charged. I was told the account was closed and that you were going to get the dispenser, but no showed up for it and now you say we owe $300. We have been jerked around for months. Is the reason for this runaround and blatant incompetence because of the name of our organization, Queer Life Space? We have encountered it before, people who don’t like Queer people, so we are jerked around like your doing. Are you incompetent, or do you hate LGBT people? I am at loss as to how to close this account and what game you are playing. Close the account, we owe you nothing, and get your dispenser. If you continue to harass us and attempt to steal our money, then a larger discussion with the community about you and your practices would be called for.

I went to store on cactus and Decatur to order 2juices. One Beet and one Kale. The lady (Elaine) went and got her supervisor (Kyle) and this Tool says he cannot omit cuXXXXbers from either drink? Until someone from corporate gives him directive??? Will someone with Authority please inform this “title” with zero people skills that people have different allergic reactions?! This was Saturday the 18th. It took Elaine 42 minutes to get two juices… and in between she made several sandwiches and refilled cream and failed to wash her hands and or change gloves once?! I will be contacting health department next! Nasty on top of terrible service?! Shame on you! It was neither fresh nor easy. I can see why so many are closed.

The employees you ONLY GAVE LESS THAN 2 WEEKS notice that they no longer have jobs because 50+ stores are closing on April 3rd, would like to know about severance pay?
As Vice President, Director of Retail Operations its somewhat shocking you don’t have the professional and moral decency to provide this info.
I’ve been trying to call corporate office all day, not ONE person picked up phone.
Business 101 answer company phone!!!!!
It’s Friday 4:33pm, while dedicated loyal employees are working their last days left HOPING & PRAYING for some severance pay. Now, thanks to you Beatrice many of us will wonder and worry all weekend.

My husband shops at your W.Indian School Road in Phoenix. AZ. sometimes three or four times a day. He recently, yesterday, bought your Fresh and Easy Raspberry Chocolate chip Ice Cream. I was looking forward to having some when I bit down on something hard. It was so hard in fact that it broke off a piece of my tooth! I quickly spit it out and tried to find out what it was. There were 3 pieces of black metal and plastic in it! I am in great pain now as it broke off down to the nerves of my tooth and the break is sharp and jagged and keeps cutting my cheek and tongue!
He had gone there to get a couple of other items and they expired that day. He asked why.they weren’t marked down like they’re supposed to be and was rudely told that person that does it doesn’t come in until midnight and he’d have
to come back then. It was freezing cold and raining and it was about 35 minutes to midnight so he asked if they could give him the markdown now. They refused and were ruder than rude to him. He called store when returned home and when he started to inquire about it, they slammed the phone in his ear! He called right back several times and no one answered! We also had bought a piece of salmon and ate half of it and a little later, about three or four hours, it was rotten. We only cooked what we ate and refrigerated other. How can you people justify charging $9 for a “fresh” piece of fish and it going rotten that quickly? We had to waste it and throw it away so we wouldn’t end up sick.
Would love to hear what you have to say and better yet, what you are going to do about it! We are both disabled and on fixed income and I cannot afford to get damaged tooth fixed. It’s NOT a little piece and
now I can barely eat!

Now today I was going to cook some of your white fish – IT STINKS! – I even bought ice for $1.99 – a huge bag to make sure it was fresh.
The only thing you have which is ok are some eggs I bought.

My husband and I frequent your Antioch,CA store on Lone Tree Way. We have been in several Times to the store before work to pick up lunch for the day, and none of the sandwiches, or breakfast food even, are ever put out when your store opens. Often I will see the French bread and dinner rolls being stocked! I can’t understand why they would prioritize stocking the store in that order! It seems to me that when the store opens the breakfast and lunch should be ready for customers to grab, buy, and go. We have spoken to the girls who work in the store , asking when they bring the sandwhiches and other items out and they stated basically they get them out when they get them out. They didn’t even offer to go in the back to find us our requests. The store should be easy! Meaning, ready for the customer when they open! To me, I would prefer the store to open later and be fully stocked than for you to advertise food that isn’t even available since the workers are only stocking dinner foods on the shelves!
We are very dissatisfied and are considering going to trader joes for prepared lunches instead of fresh and easy. Hopefully this can be addressed before the store loses too many customers like us.

I frequent your Hermosa beach location at least 3-4 times a a day I live across the street and it is my grocery store, after going to the strand to walk every morning I stop in and purchase the mark down on pastries to feed the homeless. Friday 4-18-14 I was in your store and had an issue with the coffee machine, that has been complained about for over 6-7 months, The machine somehow charged me for an espresso that I did not get, its charge was only a $1. She proceeded to tell me that I made the mistake and that I already got my espresso, I then showed her the receipt that I had already paid for the Espresso that was in my cup. Even after showing the problem that I had paid It was still proceeded with telling me that I already got what I paid for service especially from a place I go to at the same time as said 3-4 times a day. I am extremely disappointed with the quality of service I received at my neighborhood fresh and easy. I sincerely hope you can remedy this issue for me as I do enjoy going into your store, but did not enjoy being treated like I was today.
April 18th I had a confrontation with Dennis the manager in regards to an employee getting a small bag of ice, first of all why did he assume it was for me, then make a rude statement saying I told you that ice is not for your smoothies, what a lack of intelligence you do not make smoothies with ice, and if he paid attention what I buy to make them is Almond milk, Greek yogurt ,frozen strawberries and bananas. I told him he was Ass for assuming anything. I became friends with one of the employees there since I went in so often We had plans to go to dinner and celebrate my birthday, well that was ruined as well as me loosing a friend because she text and told me all the employees were giving her XXXXX. First of all the only three people in the store was Dennis another male and the female, how NOT professional of a manager to discuss anything with any other employee who was not involved, it is all hear say. To make this short, the Friend card and coffee machine is not adding up correctly and over charging you per shot you do not get and pay for, as the points likely excuse do you have the receipts? Easy way to brush you off and cheat you, how many people keep months worth of receipts when they put the groceries away?
Dennis also discriminated hiring me by me age. I asked him everyday I saw him if the were hiring and he said no, they have hired 3-5 people since, why did Dennis NOT tell me they were hiring?? This is going to the news paper as well as Better Business Burro, and I have the photos of everything to back it up.

I frequent your Hermosa beach location at least 5 times a week after going to the gym that is up the street. Today I was in your store and had an issue with the coffee machine, when I asked for help a young latin woman with dark hair and very dark eye makeup came to help me. The machine somehow charged me for an espresso that I did not get, its charge was only a $1. She proceeded to tell me that I made the mistake and that I already got my espresso, I then showed her the receipt that I had already paid for the steamed milk that was in my cup. Even after showing her that I had paid she still proceeded to tell me that I already got what I paid for. Finally she reset machine snatched the receipt from the machine gave me a dirty look then walked away without a word. Next she proceeded to tell another employee how rude I was. I have never had such horrible customer service, especially from a place I go to at the same time 5 times a week.
After all this I said to your employee, who would not give me her name, that I wasn’t try to get a free $1 cup of espresso and that all she had to do was look at me receipt. Still she says to me “well that’s the way it is” offered no apology or any type of remorse for her actions at all. What she did was to take this second opportunity to be rude to me again. I am extremely disappointed with the quality of service I received at my neighborhood fresh and easy. I sincerely hope you can remedy this issue for me as I do enjoy going into your store, but did not enjoy being treated like I was today.

Hello,
On November 2, 2013, I was stuck by a needle which was found inside of a package of Southern Blend Greens purchased by the Fresh and Easy store in Torrance, CA. I have reported this incident TWICE on-line and have yet to receive the attention required to resolve this matter. I have been a loyal customer for years and am very displeased with the treatment I have received to date. I will be taking my business elsewhere and will also be investigating my options in making the public aware of such sub-standard and dangerous food products from your stores.

I hear you – I bough a Fresh/Easy Meatloaf and Mashed Potatoes meal many months ago. 3/4 of the way through eating it I became aware of several small holes punched in to the side of the plastic container. By several I mean like 6. To me this means the food I just ate was compromised in some way. I reported this to Fresh/Easy corporate offices and got poor reception and attitude. I was promised follow up which never happened. When I would call back every week to see if they could tell me if they found out what happened and if I have cause for concern, they had no news and would just say they were still looking in to it. Seriously – it takes you all over a month to figure this out? They NEVER called me back and began to ignore my requests for follow up. This company DESERVES the direction it is now headed. It is no surprise they are going out of business because they have ZERO concern for how they treat customers or how safe their products even are for the public. Good riddance F/E
