Flamingo Gardens began as Flamingo Groves, a citrus orchard, in 1927 by Floyd and Jane Wray. The couple purchased 320 acres and believed that the climate was perfect for citrus fruit. The farm began receiving plants from other parts of the world and the Wrays created a garden, which they invited the public to enjoy.
Today, Flamingo Gardens is a non-profit botanical garden, wildlife sanctuary, and aviary. The Wray’s home operates as a museum, unchanged since the late 1930’s. Guided tours are offered daily for a small fee. Flamingos nest among the trees, and Mrs. Wray introduced peacocks in the 1940’s.
Flamingo Gardens is one of the last natural growth jungles in Southern Florida. The park boasts that there are 3,000 tropical trees and subtropical trees, as well as the wildlife sanctuary, which is home to 90 native species.

Are used to live at flamingo Gardens my fiancé and my son worked out they Boca fired and the property manager told us we have to leave our apartment but it’s funny how you have two maintenance man still living on the property and you hired one of them to become the assistant manager of the maintenance department I think that the property manager needs to retire because what she did to us was not fair she treated us like we were criminals but God hates ugly but it’s all good flamingo Gardens sucks do not rent any apartments from them but I’ll see them in court for discrimination against us and my family for what they did

Although I give 5 stars I do not want to take away from the fact that Claudia is not a receptive public relations person. She’s condescending and she was not open minded at a time when she could have been. She someone I know for literally five minutes and I can tell she does not like to take accountability. She does not like to be told what to do. If you read her reviews on trip advisor you will notice a pattern of deflection excuses and have a hold anybody accountable including herself. I’m a member for a few years and I asked to speak with somebody in charge about some suggestions and she brushed me off like I was selling vacuums. I will continue to visit the gardens But I will no longer refer anybody to buy the membership. I will recommend having lunch before you arrive as to not visit the café with very bad service. The tram ride is definitely off the list of things to do. It’s the same it’s not interesting and the person running it does not want any positive change. Whoever does the training for the ladies upfront and the gift shop definitely has the right idea. They are warm welcome mean they know me by first name I bring them chocolate on the holidays and they always make you feel like family. Mrs Wray Would be really disappointed if she saw what was allowed to happen on the rest of the 60 acres. Or should I say she would be really disappointed if she saw what wasn’t allowed to happen. Great experience You would want to feel in perpetuity. Not just once. And definitely not having a good experience is a lasting impression. Kind of like I had today with a very nice spoken lady named Claudia.
