This is the second time I have tried to leave a message for this company. I did shop the Marion, Iowa store, but their prices are so out there that I will not be going back. They had eggs $4 a dozen, a block away the Kwik star has them for $1.49 a dozen, Your banana are .59 a pd., Hy Vee a block away has them for .39, your yard waste bags are $5 a bundle, Menards has them for $3. Now, if you were shopping, where would you go to buy your food. Yep, me too. Also, I had to make a quick stop for bread, I could have gotten the whole factory for the price of one loaf. I said something to them and they just looked and me and said nothing. One of the managers was at the next register and never made a comment. Oh, and the parking lot and store were almost empty. I see why now. If this were you, where do you think you would be doing your shopping, Yep, I thought so!

For the second time in two weeks, we purchased fresh produce that has been spoiled. The outside packaging did not indicate that the produce was below standards.
Last Saturday, my husband purchased raspberries, when I opened the package the entire package was moldy. Today I purchased a package of Dole Spring mix. When I opened the package 3/4 of the lettuce was bruised and decaying. The Nevada Fareway produce department has constantly declined in decent fresh produce over the last half year. (A few months ago a woman in front of me returned a cantaloupe that was total mush inside, you could tell the only thing she’d done to it was cut it open.) I’m not returning your substandard produce as I am not getting back into my car, driving back to Fareway to wait for a cashier to be open to return the produce to try to search for a better product that I initially purchased under the assumption that Fareway guaranteed it was putting good merchandise out for their customers. I don’t live in town, it took time to get there this morning to go shopping, I’m not driving back to fix your mistake.
It is obvious you have a problem at the Nevada store. It may be your store manager and a warehouse manager that aren’t getting along as a lot of shelves are constantly bare and produce is substandard. Not all Fareways are having this shortage problem as I can drive to the Ames store and their shelves are not empty.
I have slowly started to change my shopping for produce to your competition. With bare shelves, decaying produce and a lack of options, as your stores are starting remove other brands and only offer the Fareway labeled products, I’m not sure I really want to go back.
Thank you.

With the corona virus going on right now, the people working are essential workers. Your stores had a sale on full rib eye for $6.99 a pound. I called to reserve one. The Tea SD store, meat department, had a recording at 8 am ( that’s when they opened) that said this number is not in service. So when I talked to someone on their main number, they said that they were not taking orders for this sale. They were only selling for walk ins. I explained that my husband and I are both essential workers and by the time we got off work, they would be out of these whole rib eyes. I have to go to work everyday. I don’t get the luxury of sitting on my butt and drawing $1000.00 a week on unemployment. I don’t get to go to stores and buy up all the items on sale, so those of us that are just trying to get by miss out on. Your store made me pre-order for a $30.00 bundle, but to spend $100.00 I have to walk in and get it. I have always supported your store, but now I’m questioning your ethics. So that just tells me you don’t support the hard working people who have to be out and face this virus everyday. So I will be sharing this with all my essential worker family. I guess I will be shopping at Hy-Vee again. Very dissappointed! Very dissappointed! Oh and by the way, I stopped after I got off work at 4:00 pm, of course you had no more ribeye. Thanks for nothing.

We are loosing our community grocers store in mount Ayr Iowa. I would love to have Fareway come to our location. We are members of the founders of this grocery store and going down to one store inflates prices and makes service horrible! Just a thought but would love to have you buy it. Open until December 18. 641-464-XXXX if you are interested. Thank you for your time and merry Christmas!

It sure would be nice if headquarters would reply back to my email or return phone calls. You would think after the scare that I had from one of their food products, that they would want to return my phone calls to find out exactly what happened and how to not let it happen in the future.
I purchased a tub of their ice cream. A piece of hard plastic or possibly molding from their equipment got lodged in my throat. I’m just thankful it happened to me and not my grandchildren. But you would think they would like to communicate to take a look at the piece that I found try to figure out where it came from will try to prevent this from happening in the future.

Hi. Wanted to let you know I was in the Fareway in Hiawatha Iowa tonight about 630pm. I had an awesome cashier. She was quick and nice. Her name was Rachel S. I had a really nice conversation with her and the courtesy clerk. They were both awesome. Please pass this along to them. Thanks.

We just left the Fareway store on University Ave in Des Moines. It’s 6:55pm. The employees we encountered acted like they were in a race to close up. My husband asked the meat department to cut him some at. He was told no they wouldn’t. It was already cleaned for the night.

Can I get or order those small individual servings of sour cream through your stores? (Not the smaller squeeze bottle but the small about 1 oz individual servings.)
Thank you

I think fareway is follower and not a leader. I used to only go to fareway. But recently I go to hy vee and Aldi more for quality and price. I really started when they went away from Braches bulk candies and started selling in those god awful looking doggie bags made for fareway. A lot of the time the produce should have been thrown out a week earlier. This week I had a pork chop that smelled and tasted like urine. I really think fareway had gone downhill in Nevada and probably other stores as well.
