Dutch Bros Coffee was founded in 1992 in Grants Pass, Oregon, by two brothers of Dutch descent, Travis and Dane Boersma, which explains the name. The company operates a chain of franchised coffee restaurants.
Currently, the company has 284 locations in 7 states. They employ more than 5,000 persons and in 2016 the company stated that they had $349 million in revenue. Dutch Bros offers whole bean coffees, ground coffees, merchandise, made to order coffees, as well as Blue Rebel Energy Drinks. The company uses a special blend of Columbian, Brazilian, and Salvadorian coffee beans to make their own unique coffee products.
Dane Boersma passed away in 2009 from Lou Gehrig’s Disease. The company annually donates one full day’s receipts to the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Company headquarters remain in Grants Pass, Oregon.
Due to the coronavirus outbreak, the company banned all personal mugs from being used in March 2020. It is unknown when this restriction will be lifted.
One couple was arrested, tried, and found guilty in February 2020 of stealing customer loyalty cards and reproducing a stamp to get free coffee over a six-month period.

I frequently get up at 5:00am and when everything is closed, my trusted Dutch Bros is open, waiting to greet me and start my day off right. I go there almost every other day and have been for years. Everyone is friendly and they know my drink order. I go to the Hazel Dell Dutch in Vancouver Wa. Maddie and Jeremiah are exceptional, always happy and know everyone ‘s drink and are wonderful.

I was a loyal fan to Starbucks until one day when my niece introduced me to Dutch Bros. I immediately grew fond of you decaf coffee latte with hazelnut truffle. Almost all the location I frequent the staff were friendly and expedited services. When driving to the Bay Area I stop at the Dutch Bro located off of Richard Blvd in Davis California. The two time has been very disappointing! My coffee didn’t taste right and today waited more than 10 min after the barista telling me to park and that they would bring it out. I finally had to get out of my car and saw that my drink was just sitting on the counter and was became a watered down freeze. I complained about the long wait but did not receive an explanation or apology. Last time I will be going there after this event!

Dear Travis,
I’m writing to wish you, your family and the entire Dutch Mafia a healthy and prosperous new year. I was first introduced to your brand over 20 year ago as I traveled extensively to the Northwest for business. Recently, I was re-introduced to Dutch Bros. Coffee as my teenage daughters would drive 45 minutes in the Bay Area with their friends, just to wait in line for another 45 minutes for a cup of coffee. It was difficult for me to understand at the time what the hype was all about until I experienced the grand opening phenomenon first hand in one of your newest locations in Indio, CA. As I sat in the car with my wife and three daughters waiting to place our order, I had plenty of time to observe all that was going on throughout the parking lot. You are not in the coffee business, you are in the people business and doing the people business extremely well.
I came from a 25- year career at Men’s Wearhouse Corporate Office, where I reported to the founder, George Zimmer. My role was to create, develop and oversee the vision of Corporate Culture. Similar to Dutch Bros. Coffee, we were not in the suit business, we were in the people business, so I understand the value of attracting and retaining quality people. Our culture was based on servant leadership, where employees were taken care of first. If you take care of your people, your people will take care of the customers, and your customers will take care of the shareholders.
What I observed in the parking lot that day were “mobsters” and “staff in training” who genuinely loved their jobs and extremely proud to work for your organization. They focused on speed, quality and service with exemplary enthusiasm. Nice Work!
Thank you for creating unforgettable moments and making a massive difference in the lives of your employees and customers, one cup at a time.

We live in Boise Idaho having moved from OR. We frequent Dutch Brothers various locations here in Boise regularly. In the midst of the concern over the coronavirus and the recommended safety precautions, we notice the employees continue to come right up to the window to take orders with no thought of keeping the 6ft distance as recommended. That lack of proper distancing is also continued at the drive-thru window when receiving our order. We think your staff is terrific and enjoy their personalities and exuberance but they should not be ignoring proper controls to help reduce the spread of this virus. As much as we enjoy your products, we will no longer patronize until we see they are taking this situation seriously. I mentioned it to several of your workers as we went through the process of ordering recently and they, as a whole, seemed unconcerned and oblivious to the situation.

Still waiting for a reply to my email wherein I asked if I could trade a 150.00 gift certificate for several smaller value cards. i won the gift card at a raffle and it would take me a long time to use it up, so though breaking it down and giving as gifts to friends would be a better idea.

To whom it may concern, we live in Coeur D’ Alene, ID and I want to express our extreme dislike for your one lane drive through!!!! WE HATE HATE HATE IT!!! And I don’t care about your stupid excuses you give me on how you keep track of how fast things move and the workers come out with their tablets to take your order, IT SUCKS plain and simple and we can guarantee you when there’s a line we skip it just like today with the special going buy one get one, the line is out to the streets forget it!!! And I can guarantee that we’re NOT the only ones that feel this way!!!!! If want your business to grow and have HAPPY customers change it back to two lane drive through otherwise we’ll buy somewhere else!!!!!

I’m making a complaint about the Dutch Brothers Coffee shop at Mendocino Avenue and Pacific in Santa Rosa, California. As someone who live near the location and travel Pacific to get home, I’m totally feed up with traffic parking on Pacific because they can not turn in because there’s to many cars on the property. So they stop and park on Pacific totally blocking the street and no cars can get by to continue on Pacific. I see no workers trying to get them inside or doing anything to open up the street so traffic can go down the street. If this happens again and I have to set there trying to get through I’m going to call the Santa Rosa Police to come out and do something about it.

I was at Dutch Bros. on Sunday in Twin Falls, Idaho. There is no rhythm or reason for the drive thru. They have what they call a escape lane, it is not marked by any means so I drove thru it. The manager came and talked to me about cutting in front of other cars which was clearly not my intention. Instead of explaining the correct way to go thru the drive thru he proceeded to tell me that I had to go to the end of the line, now let me tell you I am not in grade school nor am I going to be treated as if I am in grade school. The lines need to be fixed, maybe the owners need to come and they a look at the mess in Twin. I will never go to Butch Bros again in Twin Falls, Idaho. This was a horrible experience for me as the other girls taking orders from other customers all had smirks on there faces. That was all grown up right? Is this really good customer service? Have a nice day.

I went to many different Dutch Bros in Sacramento Area. I usually get rebels and always ask for handblended and I rarely get it. There was a period of time where I stopped going to Dutch Bros for two months because I got tired of not getting what I want. I went earlier today and my drink was very watery. Can you please do something about this for I’ll just stop going because I rather spend money at a place that gives me what I like.

I went to many Dutch bros in the Sacramento area and I usually order my usual, which is a ray of sunshine rebel hand blended and I rarely get it hand blended. I went there a couple times in the past two weeks and I have been getting my drinks watery and not hand blended at all. A medium rebel is $5.50 and they do not make mine how I want it which is hand blended. And it’s not fair because I’m paying $5.50 and they aren’t giving me how I want my drink. If they keep this up, giving my drinks watery I’ll stop going there because that’s unacceptable. And I tip them every time I go there.

On Jan. 4th, 2019, I purchased a gift card for $100.00 The number of the gift card is 6000 4216 9124 XXXX REG code 724883. The amount of the gift card was only for $10.00….instead of the amount charged to my Visa of $100.00. The gift card was purchased from your location of 430 NE Holladay, Portland, OR
I have tried to contact you two different times to correct this, but have not received a call back from you. I am hoping that I will receive a contact from you from this attempt. However, if I do not, I will be turning this over to Visa and letting them settle this.
Thank you for your prompt attention.

You have two locations in Red Bluff CA. One on Antelope and one on Main. Both can’t prepare an order correct. Both have perfect records of messing up my drinks every time I order them. Both locations are always rushing and can’t get simple drink orders correct. I will go into further details if I am contacted.
