DiBella’s Subs was founded in 1918 by Mike and Mary DiBella in Rochester, New York. The company originally started off as a delicatessen, but later discovered that sandwiches were its biggest-selling item.
Today, DiBella’s Subs has 43 locations in 6 states. Wegman’s has incorporated DiBella’s Sub-style shops inside their stores. While Wegmans consulted with DiBella’s, the company claims that the sandwiches are completely Wegman’s and not their product. DiBella’s locations have a 1930/1940 decorating theme. Bread is made fresh each day, using what is described as the “old world technique” and all ingredients are cut or delivered fresh each day.
The company has been voted “Best Sub in Rochester” for 8 consecutive years by the City Newspaper and the Democrat & Chronicle newspaper.
In October 2022, Three Heads Beer and DiBella’s teamed up to create a new beer flavor called Chocolate Chip Cookie Stout.
In March 2022, DiBella’s showed support for Ukraine by raising funds to help feed the country.
DiBella’s Subs maintains a corporate office in Rochester, New York.

I currently work at DiBellas in Mayfield Ohio, the new Manager isn’t a good fit. She makes up things and hold grudges like a kid when she’s over 50 years old.. then she takes you off the schedule and doesn’t tell you, changes the schedule and doesn’t inform you. She also is hired her son and started giving him other peoples hours and days… she has her son and daughter working 4-7 days a week and nobody else but the baker and caterer person works 4 days a week.. she lies about small things, she calls employees out of their names, nobody on the staff likes working with her. She has nasty attitude, she doesn’t like making salad(the easiest thing to make) and tried to force everyone to be on the line and she tries to do all the prep work by herself. The store is always running out of things since she took over, she never orders enough on the trucks. Please if you can send a few people to scope out the store and see how she is… ask a couple employees how she is, I’ve asked every employee at the mayfield store and nobody but her son and her daughter likes her and nobody likes working with her! I’m more than happy to have a sit down with you guys and even her, I’ll consider a phone call if that’s all we can do, but please I’m begging you take a closer look at the new manager and please consider bringing back Ms. Wright who was running the store before she took over.

I was at the Tuttle Rd location in Ohio. It took 1/2 hour to make a 10” hot sub! They were all rushing to get internet orders for people not even in the store, and here we are waiting 1/2 an hour for a 10” sub!
Then, after patiently waiting 1/2 an hour, the 3 meat sub had 2 quarter (USD .25) sized pieces of turkey on it. As I asked if there was any turkey I couldn’t see underneath, the young girl became visibly agitated and started telling me they are all weighed out. I said, but there isn’t even 1 whole piece of turkey and she said she agreed, took out 1 whole slice and warmed it up and put it on the top. As she did this I got nothing but bad attitudes, dirty looks and under the breath complaints from everyone there, including the manager. Horrendous experience that I paid for! I wasn’t rude and just asked a question and it felt like they didn’t care and didn’t want to help or listen. I had to prove to the girl what I was saying and then she agreed.
I’m today’s economic crisis in America, the last thing we need are privately owned companies ripping off their customers with lame actions like this. I own a large business in town and we will never again get catering orders from DiBellas as the hassle isn’t worth the price. I’m full blooded Italiano and my family knew the original owners. The original owners would faint if they saw how their customers are being treated in todays world. Yet another company that decides to give less and charge more. You lost a slew of life long customers, and all of the 233 employees that work for us.

I worked at Dibellas subs in Latham, NY. I was fired for not allowing management to treat me however they wanted. I spoke my mind and wasn’t informed until after I was fired that there is a number I can call to put in complaints. The lack of respect and training I rarely received was unacceptable. I came to work with high energy and was fired for want to be treated as a human being

The one in Albany ny is a joke. All employees are under 20. Disrespectful, attitudes, inappropriate uniforms, always on phones and takes at least 10 minutes for one sub. The head manager there is also very young and was given the position after 3 months of being a sub maker. He is immature, flirtatious with young staff and seems like the employees friend and not boss.

The sub I got last night from the Tuttle Crossing location was HORRIBLE. The bread was stale, and there were huge HUNKS of greasy meat and fat. I want (and definitely deserve) my money back, but:
1. I can’t leave a complaint online because scanning the barcode of my receipt — which I don’t have — is required.
And
2. When I call the Dibella’s corporate office, it goes straight to voicemail.

I don’t visit DiBellas very often due to high prices. But I love it and could eat the Godfather all day every day. The few times that I do go, the girls there that take my order don’t give you time to look at the menu board and rush us into ordering. Then they act like you are inconveniencing them when trying to order. I’m not an expert and know their routine like they do. Unpleasant experience and 50 dollars later. Everytime.
