Daimler Trucks North America is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Daimler AG, a German multinational automotive corporation with worldwide headquarters in Stuttgart, Germany.
Daimler AG has its roots in the founding of two companies: Benz & Companies by Carl Benz in 1883 and Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft by Gottlieb Daimler in 1890. Benz and Daimler, who never met personally, simultaneously developed the world’s first automobiles.
Daimler and Wilhelm Maybach were the first to fit a gas engine to a two-wheeler, called a “riding car” in 1885. He later presented the first four-wheeled vehicle, which he called the motor carriage.
Both Daimler and Benz began to market their vehicles internationally by the end of the 19th century.
Daimler and Benz merged in 1926 to form the new company, Daimler-Benz AG.
Today Daimler AG owns or has shares in: Mercedes-Benz, Mercedes-AMG, Smart, Freightliner, Western Star, Setra, Thomas Built Buses, BharatBenz, and Mitsubishi Fuso.
Daimler Trucks North America is the leading commercial vehicle manufacturer in North America and a leading provider of heavy and medium duty vehicles. The company employs over 20,000 people in the United States and Mexico.

.I have a 2007 Fleetwood Bounder 38V turbo 300 diesel. I was coming back from Arizona and noticed the alternator discharging. So we stayed at Weatherford,Tx KOA. I called the Fleetwood service tech provided to me by the dealership. He said I would have to take it to a freightliner dealership. So made arrangements to bring it in to the Ft. Worth dealership. After they checked it out–it not the alternator, it was the water pump. They said they had all the parts except the water pump which may have to come from a foreign country and it may take 7-10 days to get it. Cost would be around $1000. He did say he would research it more the next day. We went to San Antonio to stay with friends. We did some research and found a pump at Doggett Freightliner in San Antonio for $600. I called Freightliner of Ft. Worth and told them I would drive it up in the morning. I was told it may be done in one day. I was waiting for a call that it was done and did not get one. About 4:30pm I called and talked to the service dept. I was told they did not have the serpentine drive belt. and it would be two days before they got one. Its been over a week that it has been there and I was given exaggerated prices. Luckily I was fortunate to be able to stay with friends along with the coronavirus I would have had to put up with at a hotel. I have had work done at a freightliner In different states before and never have I had service like this. I DON’T NEED TO SAY MORE SINCE I MAY LOOSE IT. UNHAPPY

I am the owner of a 2015 Fleetwood RV and have received a recall notice #FL762. I contacted the closest Freightliner Dealer to me and was advised that I must present the motorhome to be inspected before they would order any parts as they are not sure if my vehicle is one that requires the replacement part. I don’t understand how, with the known Vin#, they would not be able to identify which parts my vehicle has and whether it would require attention. This is a major inconvenience to me as the closest dealership is about 40 miles (two hour driving time for total round trip) from my residence. Is it not possible to provide these dealerships with the required parts in the event that my unit does require this and I would not be inconvenienced to make a second trip?

To Whom this may concern,
I have many questions on the reliability of Frieghtliner trucks my company has purchased
last three years. We have purchased five in total 2015, 2016, and 2017’s.
the 2015 and 2017’s have cause the most issues with downtime to the dealership or authorized repair center. when I contact the Dealership its always bring it to us this being another cost out of pocket for my company. This has caused lost revenue from our customers and some of our customers leaving our services because we could not fulfill our obligations to them causing my company to lose valuable customers just like you have to have to stay in business.
I do not want to go into all the details in an email so if you would have a District Rep. or a Regional Rep. contact me on this matter to see how we can resolve the issue with these trucks.
Thank you

To whom it may concern 12-22-16
My name is Zsolt Honti, owner of Mobile Exhaust. My company sells exhaust parts to automotive shops in four states area. My trucks are our moving warehouses with inventory on them constantly, so my customers can shop right on the trucks. This is how we are making our money to pay our bills.
I purchased two identical Freightliner trucks on 10-28-2013 from Hill Truck Sales Inc.(Elkhart, In). Both trucks are built the same.
The reason for this letter is that one of the trucks, Vin#: 3ALCWDU4EDFV2733 had and has serious problems, and spent lots of time in repairs repeatedly, causing my business to lose sales, income, and stressful times.
As of today the truck had many issues (some of them repeatedly):
Electrical, DEF, transmissions, ECM, Turbo parts, leaf springs, unknown codes.
I feel all problems caused by faulty manufacturing, because the other tuck which was built in the same time, hardly has any issues.
This truck spent around 60 days in repair, and created over $10000 in repair bills (see attached spread sheet and repair bills). Some of the repairs were warranted, some of them were not, and the time of out from the business has led to loss of sales and loss of profits of my company, approximately $42000 over 38 months time.
On the other side, my company has to make the payments for the truck to the finance company.
I feel that it should not happened with newly built Freightliner truck, and it should not have this many problems over 38 months of time. In this truck’s case something went very very wrong during manufacturing, and it is not fair that my company have to pay the price for it.
I would appreciate if someone would look into this problem, and offer me solutions how to resolve all this financial difficulties what this issue created.
Thank you for your considerations
Sincerely
Zsolt Honti
